When fear strikes

As the round progressed and it became clear that the LDK block was becomming dominant in the universe, more people and alliances stuck together to organize some resistance.

One of these little organisations is a small para alliance in parallel 7. At first this group did not start as an intention to defend and attack each other in general, but to attempt to set up one or more fleetcatches, to help regain balance in the universe.

The group however defended each other well: there were people here willing to saccrifice ships and Eonium for a common goal, so why not help defend each other. Also some small attacks against LDK planets (like at 'Gaspod') were aranged through this channel.

At one point LDK launched a massive attack against the last standing anti-LDK planet in the top 10. This was giving an opportunity for us to catch a fleet returning from this attack. After first looking into one of the smaller planets we decided to pick on one of the bigger ones in the thirteenth cluster. The first planet on the gallist.

Ofcourse we had insufficient people to kill such a large planet, so some of us got some galmates and allies to join. Still not enough to kill him in one tick, but the result was very satisfactory:

The second tick there was defence - as expected, since LDK often seems to have a few planets lying around somewhere. We were honored to get defended against by at that point the #2 in the game, the highest ranked not yet closed planet in the universe (current #1). Score then: 88 mln. There were a few other, smaller defenders as well. At this point we started calculating. The result (includig lots of gueswork) did not seem to be very satisfcatory. However taking down the #1 (he had become that by eta 1) was worth the losses. Furthermore a lot of our players had signed off for the night, so it would be only fair to them. Battlereport shown below:

http://www.pilkara.com/parsers.php?scanid=1908669366

erhm?! He chickened out. :-)

We continued to roid in tick 3 (no report as I did not have any fleetslots to send a roiding fleet). Those that were asleep lost a lot of ships in the following ticks though.

Hmm yeah ldk block was a funny word to use i think Think lrytas would appreciate it i think.

Think also the word anti-ldk planet is a bit exaggerated. but o well could be typo

Nobody rolls over for ldk btw. Most only died at the topplanets. That could be seen as ldk owning them (which you all clearly dont wanna see). Ofc it could also be seen as "this is free round i aint playing seriously" which i dont believe heh.

As for the breps: i think ldk didn't chickened out that tick. That is called "playing with your brain" hehe

The rest of the thread i like btw

There were no fakefleets on the milscan, so he DId chicken out (I would have done the same with that ranking so short before end of round though, not that I'll ever get the chance to proof that )

Almost all the hostile fleets arriving after the 3rd battletick were anonymous 'opportunity' attackers. Certainly I knew none of them. Those that planned the attack (essentially those in para 7) left the battle with very little losses. It's just a shame that the opportunitists didn't follow up with a newscan etc.. before landing, so now LDK can claim the small consolation of owning all the fleets that crashed later on.
