And he goes around and makes speeches talking about how much he is doing for the environment, and they believe him because only an idiot would go out of his way to make things worse. The American people are protected from knowing that the US government is sabotaging progress on the issue. If they do hear otherwise there is a pundit on Fox news calling the critic a loony or anti-american or some such.
