Re: Petition For New 'old' Colonies
I would considering im not about to unexpectedly lose the internet for several weeks this time
although we shouldn't use colonies 2 units, back to prime if you ask me. Except no giant spaceships. As fun as they were they became seriously unbalancing (lo klavo )
Besides, i want some revenge on that no good australian who attacked while I weren't there.

Re: Petition For New 'old' Colonies
Interested. We need the old gang. Me, Badger, Muha, Fluffie, Hewitt, Ginge and a few others are, I think, the only remaining major play0rz from the first one.

Re: Petition For New 'old' Colonies
well, it won't be Prime exactly, it will have some extra features. Me and PK have done some talking and I think i've isolated a few of the things that made thread #1 great.
The Europe and New World Effect
1. Our home colonies where mostly located close together (for the big players) so we didn't declare all out war every five minutes as it would ruin the thread, instead we had lots of political incidents and clashed in our colonies instead.
2. As a result of #1 we had interesting colonial adventures as it wasn't a case of invading another powerful player from halfway round the planet but instead fighting a power in the same position. If we look at colonies history the best ones by far have been when people where close together.
In light of this both of propose and fully support the idea of everyone starting in the North-West continent (two big islands with various smaller islands around them) and depopulating the main continent of player races, instead sparsley populating it with smaller Glub tribes to provide some release from muha/opposition to your power-hungry grabbing
Territory
Claims can be posted to certain areas rather than just taking the giant regions in the last attempt, or the non-existant system of Prime. If you can reasonably exert your control over that area it will be recognised as yours by PK and 'officially' allocated to you. The main idea of this to have people get conflicting claims and provide a reason for conflict.

Re: Petition For New 'old' Colonies
Surely the more offensively-minded will devise that placing the Colonies closer together makes rush conquest of the homelands a lot easier?

leads to a very dull beginning, but there are one or two small islands on the map you could start on. You'd still be near other people though.

IB, what's our motive for establishing far-flung bases on other continents and stretching out our forces in such a vunerable manner?

Ok, signups now officially open. We're going to use IB's idea. Rules are on the website:
www.happyroidhotel.org/colonies.htm
So, pick a location on the Secondus map.

The famous and great General No Dachi of the Terrans will be and making base on the region with the Terran civilian populance on the southern coast of the southernmost starting island, the one with the bit of desert at its southern tip and the bit of mountain in the north.

Re: Petition For New 'old' Colonies
I'll be taking a colony in south-east of the southern continent, in the region with lots of mountains. (i think some things need naming btw).

And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer. - Benjamin Franklin
