You're inside some kind of machine by the way, the viewer above you displays the outside directly ahead, it's a nice day, on some kind of sports field. Then a pair of mechanised walkers run passed.

It's a training ground, you're fairly new to the school, that is, one of the junoirs, for the majority of the time your control of the mech is shakey and unbalanced. There's supposed to be a new coach joining today and trails for a new assignment are coming up next month. You glance over at the picture of you and your father pinning to a panel in the cockpit. Your mech falls on it's ass. [You can pick the order it happens in]

You're wearing a sweet red rimmed hat and overcoat, your gun differs slightly from the rest of the police officers, you're also hand cuffed (silver coincidently), which the officers aren't. You're being led to a small room by a seargent with a rather large span between his googly eyes - he's an alien, closely followed by an officer with an unusual third eye (closed) on her forehead. You are sat down at a small interegation table and asked to please remove your hat.

You "Jackal" is in the position of one of the police officers and you are about to be questioned on it's 'unfamilar' design (compared to the semi-futuristic setting)

You are a test pilot, you are in the fairly cramped cockpit of your space module. As an astronaut, you follow the conversation you're having with NASA and confirm the course. You accelerate, there's a lot of flashy lights, and a wormhole for some reason, and then you're gone.

After a lot of spinning and withcontrol, you re-emerge in regular spacetime and are immedately caught by a much larger space faring vessels, which is unusual, since, to your knowlege they don't exist. You're hauled into their hanger and violently accosted by small shoebox on wheels with fibre optics-shaped robots.

You're in a mechanised combat robot, I'll leave the armaments up to Fluffie, but you're rather knacked at pilotting the thing, and there's a battle and you're fighting in it. Yeah, so I'll let Fluff finish this...

Your mission was to secure the source of the signal, but you weren't told much more than that, other than to proceed with caution++, to which you are most thankful for the "defense" weaponary. The tracker is dead silent, save for the topography display and shadows sweeping the screen. You'll have to launch some sensor flares and stuff.

Lakhim stares in wonder up at the voice that told him to lauch some sensor flares. He reaches into his pocket, takes out a book of matches and uses it to create a time delay fuse to ignite the flare *ignore if not relevent*, then crouches behind some rubble, watching the tracker and being alert of his surroundings.

No Dachi looks around confusedly. He'd been doing something. Something important. But what? He looked back at his wrong-looking reflection and attempt to remember what it was he was trying to remember, but to no avail. His face appeared to be covered in shaving foam, and he appeared to be holding a razor. Maybe he'd just been shaving himself? Sounded good. No Dachi decided to finish shaving before moving on, and as he carefully negotiated the various contours of his face with the somewhat blunt razor blade, he looked carefully at his reflection, trying to see what exactly was "wrong" about it.

The flare shoots off into the air, reaching about half the height of the nearest abandoned multistorey, before bursting into light and shattering as it floats to the ground again, in the form of thousands of golden drops that seem to merge through solid matter. The tracker picks up it's signal again and leads you to a the crumbling remains of some one's basement, the steps are set in stone, but a little unstable, nothing to worry about unless you'll have to get out in a hurry.

You set off another flare before starting down, meanwhile the tracker picks up motion several blocks in the opposite direction. Perhaps it's the inhabitants, the area is offlimits to anyone else afterall.

You're right on top of your target, you just haven't identified it yet, when you notice the gunfire behind you, oh right yeah, some marines retreat into the room, while a pair, obviously knew you were there and head over, gunshots are such are heard from the corridoor they came from.

After you've cleaned up you're slowly realising the problem with the reflection, you've never seen this person before. Just then a woman walks into the bathroom and tosses a freshly ironed shirt to the towel rack beside you.

"You're going to be late"

You find the rest of a uniform laid out on your bed and instinctually put it on, before being pushed out the door of your supposed home, you find the keys pricking into your thigh and then there's like a car and you make a start out of the driveway, finding yourself already in the process of turning right up the street, you let it go and assume it's the correct way.

Then there's the radio and before you know it you're pulling the car over in the parking space marked "reserved for test pilot", the building is placed behind an airfield, so you can probably assume you should go in, or put on some Top Gun style shades, and looking at your watch, you have no idea if you actually are early or otherwise.

Crazyboy
You're in the desert, it's hot and you don't have much water left, you can't be sure how much longer until the sun sets and you're exhausted. Just when things couldn't get any worse, you see a bunch of blue eye'd locals, who don't appear happy at all, they quickly descend from the sand dunes and violently accost your person before dragging you into the shade of their homestead for questioning.

Before much else happens, the ground starts to shake and clouds are swiftly changing, rumbles echo through the sky and a huge meteor appears to land several miles off, you sense an immensely strong power, one which is coming this way. It's some kind of alien, and he's really really buff and then he's flying above you and spots you guys and says some stuff.

"Ah ha, I will crush you and your pathetic planet, but I'm very busy at the moment, so I'll be back, right after I find these 7 items hidden somewhere on this planet, but I have to do this quietly, so you won't even hear from me for a year, but when I return, you will all be doomed! ah ha ha ha, ah ha ha ha~ ha ha ha."

Then he flies off and you realise, you've got to find someway to become strong enough to beat this guy before he shows up again. So you go seek a conviently near by training centre in which to prepare yourself and stuff like that, but it's right over there, so you go and find it. Except that now there's like a bagillion robots coming from the sky and they're going to fight and distract you for the next year... or something.

Inspectre
It looks like you a chef, or cooks assistant, type person. To your knowledge aboard a rather large privately owned space warship, which is about to go into battle defending the Earth, so you suddenly realise you're most certainly doomed and you just want to hang around on Earth, rather than get killed in action.

*Continuity error*

You've decided to escape from the ship in one of the mechs they carry, so you um do, and now there are enemies closing in. After launch, you've landed near a city, but the ship is mostly caught by surprise so they don't get to launch other mechs to save themselves and stuff, so now you've got to like save the ship or flee and save yourself, except you're being chased by the alien invader mechs, which look like ladybirds, sans spots and "cute" ness.

It is a nasty location in the void to be stationed, the massive Ion Cannon Stations almost continiously firing as horde upon horde of alien creatures try to penetrate the humans’ defences.

But, that is still a day or so travelling away. There is some time to rest now, better make use of it...

Jumping off the space-capable ship you call home moments after it slid to a stop in the water, you run after your mark – a negro criminal, worth quite some woolongs. Catching him’d be real nice, since the last time you remember eating must’ve been at least three days ago.

Inspired by your emtpy stomach, you continue chasing him, already leaving the docks and fish-factories, entering the bigger city that lays before you.

You so hate being stationed aboard this carrier. It’s old and rusty, it doesn’t facilitate any of the classes of fighters you are used flying. But still, maybe being (partially) responsible for crashing a top notch carrier a few months earlier, might’ve looked back on your service record.

So yeah, there you are now. On this carrier, old and rusty but with a big name. A big name, earned many years ago, when this particular ship was top notch, just like the previous one, that you... Yeah, you know enough about that already.

Just having returned from a mission, you have some time to review the (very unimportant and very minor) mission you just completed, or, should you so wish, get some well earned rest. Or get a drink. Or something.

Something beeps in the cockpit of your mech. Recognising the sound, your hands begin working magic and you are displayed a number of other robots, approaching you.

Working some more magic, you seem to active an energy sword, a normal shield and some headmounted miniguns.

No Dachi, still not entirely sure what is going on, blinks in the bright sunlight and, cautiously, opens the glove compartment of the car. A pair of black sunglasses stared enticingly up at him from atop the car's instruction manual, and he took them, putting them on. The bright, dazzling sunlight was instantly cut out. No Dachi glanced at his - his? - reflection in the rear view mirror of the car. Whoever's face it was looking back of him, it was looking cool. Satisfied, he got out of the car, slamming the door shut and locking it behind him, tucking the keys into his pocket and looking around. An air field - he could see the control tower and the concrete landing strip, and according to the car park space he was a test pilot. Apparently then, he was meant to be testing something today. He strode up through the double doors of the main building and immediately made a beeline for the reception desk. Once there, he looked down at the receptionist.

"Uh...hello," he says, not entirely sure what he should be saying, "I'm the test pilot."

Urk-1 wondered why on Earth he had ever agreed to go to this school. He had never wanted to become a mech pilot. Just because his father had been a talented mech pilot with multiple decorations, people had thought that he would be too. It had never occured to anyone that he might have wanted to make his own decisions in life; his life! But nooo; everyone told him that since his father was such a good mech pilot he would, beyond doubt, be one too. He was even 'allowed' to start this course at a much younger age than hat was usual and as a result he bloody well couln't even get to all the pedals and levers inside this thing! On top of that, it was a beautiful day outside and he was locked up inside this metal cockpit! Urk-1 was so angry that he felt the need to give a good and hard kick to something and so he did. There was an unexpected click and before Urk-1 realised what was happening, the mech collapsed and collided with the ground. Urk-1 cursed heavily; 9 out of 10 times he couldn't reach that damn lever and then when he didn't want to reach it, he accidentally did.

Flaag looked at the wave of robots, then cupped his hands by his ribs and chanted "ENNNNNN- ERRRRR- GEEEEE- BLAAAAAAAASSST" thrusting his hands forwards on th last sylabble to engulf some of the robots flying at him. he then flew towards the others and used his patented gohreel fastness technique to deliver a flurry of blows to like a whole bagillionth of the robot army..... so.... one robot, but it was one really beaten up robot once he finished with it!!! Anyway, having beaten up the robot he turned to the next one, not noticing the one behind him which shot him in the ass, he quickly turned around to the ass shooting robot, took its gun, and crammed it into the most painful looking plug socket on its body. Having done this he powered up and used his energy blast to wipe out most of the remaining robots in the mystical fires of toohlayztofinispohstpropali, and went to the training centre

The figure takes off the helmet and reveals her to be a bedazed looking female (not at all bad looking). Happy to see a human, she certainly does not, because when you get to close asking your pathetic questions, she slams your head against the wall and kicks you in the stomach, before throwing you to the ground.

You are in pain.

But still kicking you another time, before sitting down on your neck and slamming your head down to the ground, one, final, time.

"What your rank and regiment? And why are you out of uniform?"

She hurts you some more.

Leaving the battlescene filled with the remains of wrecked robots, you notice your son is not with you. Even worse, you do not even sense him. Stopping straight away, you almost dare not to, but still do, look back.

*starts hammering random commands on the control console, hoping to find hte one that fires the weapons.

Gryffin ignores him, and simply climbs up onto his bunk, and lies back to get some rest. They would be finding out what they were going to do tomorrow. No more drills, no more training, full on combat situation. Gryffin wasn't sure whether he felt this was a good or a bad thing. His bunkmate thought this would be the best thing that had ever happened to him, and Gryffin would probably agree, considering what history of the human gorilla that he had to share his life with he had been able to decipher. Wondering yet again what madness had taken him and forced him to sign up, Gryffin lies back and goes to sleep just as the lights across the deck are cut, signifying night-time, with the angry red glow of the emergency lighting creating sharp contrast and deep shadows throught the room.*

*The "head" officer raises your gun and looks down the long barrel, training it on you.

"Seems simple enough, but I'm going to ask you once more, what's with the cumbersome design, our scans show it's more like overkill... what's the secret..."

*A human desk officer quietly lets himself into the room and slightly skips his thought train at the sight of you and the cheif guy, but carries on and informs him that there's been a local disturbance near the station, a "code something something".

The receptionist doesn't look up, but points to a door on the other side

You stride towards the room with more confidence now. You're the test pilot and that's the briefing room.

*Continuity Error - aerospacial disturbance*

Your ears drone with the sound of several large engines, you're sitting in the backseat of the cabin onboard the carrier plane, carrier-ring the X-2 test plane, attempting to break some fairly substantial speed Mach 3.

"Hey Tom, watch the stick, I'll be back in a couple."

Your pilot friend who had been at the helm, flicks on the auto level (which will last about 8 more seconds) and disappears into the rear cabin. There's quite a lot of dials, and you suddenly start to remember something... Along the lines of that you believe you've never piloted anything in your life, this troubles you, as "There's quite a lot of dials".

"Yes, that's a..."

The man turns abruptly and shoots at something (another alien spectre) behind you. You can hear the presumed captain calling to the rest of his squad.

"Clear an exit... listen, we're getting you out of here, I don't know what you're doing, but this is a restricted area. That last sensor becon's bringing out the invaders... MOVE!"

"Sir, the rear's a no go, we can't go back that way."

The tracker finishes it's scan, and locks in on your objective, a small plant growing near a door arch on back wall, you were supposed to collect it, sample bag supplied. The marines are getting ready to pull out, through a door on the other side of the rumbly filled room. There's probably just as many aliens either way. Captain puts an arm on your shoulder and is fairly insistant you go with them.

Everyone-ish
If it's late evening or night, or you're in space in your particular DM zone, you'll notice there's a significantly large number of stars and lights in the sky, except for, um... Hewitt, where it is dark, lit only by the battle and the moon, but there are significantly small numbers of stars.

Anyone else that's not got a reply, should probably shout, if you're missed in a particular DM cycle, of one or the other, who ever seems to be doing you.

You wrestle around the controls and get your Trainer (for it is not a combat mech, but the standard practice model. A real one would thankfully have customised to pilot controlers.) to stand itself up again.

The new coach you've heard is coming today, shows up and orders your "class" to do 20 laps of the sports field. Although, before you can start, he also orders everyone to disengage the automatic stabaliser system. Instantly the rows of class mechs turn into a shaking disorganised crowd, and start round the track in a hobbling manner. You have equal trouble as you make the attempt.

*Alucard grinned as he heard the report, his fangs evidable to the human policeman, putting thoughts into the humans mind of what alucard really was*

"The jackal holds 6 13mm explosive blessed rounds, its for hunting down and killing all the vampire filth and ghouls that spring up around the galaxy"

*Alucard glares over the top of his glasses and grins at the policemen, putting them all on edge*

"now you will release me and give me my gun back so i can deal with the problem"

((i've just read the three hellsing manga comics i bought yesterday, alucard can actually walk around in daylight (it doesn't harm him he just hates it due to the hellsing famile refining him into the perfect monster over 100 years) and control peoples minds ^.^))

Lakhim casts a glance at the plant, shrugs off the soldiers arm and darts for the plant growing on the back wall. Using his shield gun to keep any ghosts at bay, he grabs a sample of the plant and puts it in a bag. He then darts back over to the soldiers, praying that he didn't bait any of the aliens into following, and glances nervously over his shoulder, wondering why it was moving earlier

"Okay, I've done what I need to do, lets go"

He motions with his free arm as he shoves the bag back into his pocket towards the other room, the other hand near his link gun after stowing the bag, clearly spooked by whatever is going on.

*Hewitt felt weird. His hands seemed to move as if they had a mind of their own, dancing over the controls of his mecha like a pair of professional disco divas. Two voices echoed in his mind, the loudest continuously repeated the mission parameters over and over where as the other was barely audiable, a tiny frustrated sound that screamed out in protest to what he was doing. Neverless despite all this Hewitt couldn't ignore the warning sounds signaling enemy incoming. Letting his hands run free of their own accord he activated the mech's energy sabre, shield and automated (I'm assuming) miniguns.

However, rather than running head first into the battle there and then Hewitt paused, taking a few moments to look at the sky. It was unusually dark tonight with the 'new moon' phase not far away in time.*

The night is young but it is already dark and bleak... a perfect night for evil deeds...

*His pondering soon over, Hewitt shoves his conflicting thoughts right to the back of his mind and resets it to the task at hand, sending his mecha forward to meet his opponents on the battlefield.*

*Crazy looked around, wondering where the hell he was and what the hell these blue eyed people wanted with him. He also wondered if they had some drink. Something nice a refreshing. Maybe some whiskey... He decided to ask the next one he saw if they had any alchol.*

The battle is fast and vicious, utterly in your favour.

[Cue some fighting.]

Dodging bullets like Neo in the Matrix, your mecha strikes back with furious anger.

[More fighting Hewitt's mecha pwning.]

Something on your screen starts flashing, accompanied by some beeping. Both seem to indicate... Danger. Looking from the sensor-screen to something not showing dots, but the real thing, you see another mecha, bigger than the ones you have been fighting so far. It's about size and seems to be preparing for battle. However, more smaller, but different looking ones have touched down and are charging towards you!

You turn, you fire, but kazam, their shields stop the bullets from your miniguns! Not giving up, your mecha chargers forward with its shield protecting it from bullets for the moment, slashing its energy sword forward the very last moment, but again the new mechas' shields protect them!

THE TENSION RISES.

[Stuff happens, but nothing interesting, so we'll be nice strapping young lads and skip all that. However, you do end up sleeping, when suddenly...]

Alarms start screaming and flashing, rudely interrupting you from your probably not so well earned rest. You hear the captain and other ranking officers scream orders, but nothing so far that interests you. You do, however, start getting dressed and into your flight suit...

"All pilots report to your craft. All pilots, report to your craft."

There, you *did* hear something that concerns you. Still closing your flight suit, you join the stampedein the corridor, heading towards the flight deck, towards your bird.

[Stuff happens.]

You have just launched, joined a formation and are now speeding forwards, heading towards the large Ion Cannons, currently under attack by wicked, massed alien forces.

(Sue me, I'm tired.)

She seems to ignore you. She seems frustrated as well. Maybe it's cause that spacesuit looks so tight. Or maybe she doesn't like being in a cell, something she just seems to have figured out, by looking around.

Did you notice how suprisingly human she looks like, yet? More so human than those aliens standing at your cell, just staring at the two of you.

And yeah, you're an RP-er, so by now, you'd probably have started talking again. Looking down on you with a real nasty look, she slams one of her elbows down in your stomach, which hurts, bad.

[You pass out.]

[Time passes.]

[You start waking up.]

You are still on the ground, with a painful feeling having spread from your stomach to the rest of your body. Looking around, you find yourself still in the cell, with the female now entirely out of the spacesuit and into... what looks like... basic clothing for under spacesuits.
