Blue;Shiny;Bad explodes in a large flume of plasma mere seconds after Tex scurries out of the blast radius, the table she was using for cover is no more, all that's left is a disfigured crater of molten steel.

Simmons and the marines at the back of the room catch up with the rest of you at the north doors (two of them), Private. Mather's is eagly covering one of them. However the other is in line of fire from the stairwell and heavy steams of plasma fire are flooding through, Cid is caught covering from this.

He could use a hand, and you'll need a plan for getting up the stairs. The cafeteria is clear of all (live) Covanent.

*Cid, cowering away, still pinned down, checks his ammo carefully and looks at the stairs behind him. There was no way he could move without being shot, so he just waited carefully for the others to help him out.*

Tex looked around, a bit bewildered. That explosion still had been awfully close... Checking her holster and hand, though, she realised that she still had all her weapons. Shaking her head a bit to try and get the ring out of her ears, she makes sure her weapons are fully loaded, before trying to get a better view of the second, plasma spewing nothern door. Without getting shot of course, sneakyness!

The Covanent are increasingly focused on the first door, while the second door is left unprotected, as Mather's can see from his vantage point.

The Master Chief is already taking full advantage.

No doubt tactically assisted by the AI he's carrying, and who's voice is heard muffled by his helmet.

Sarge and Chipps are up and following, while Donut and Simmons lend a hand with Tex's diversion plan.

*Cid began getting impatient and, as the plasma boltsbegan to slacken arund him, he burst out of his cover and began firing at anything alien that was near him, stopping after a mere few seconds to dive back into his cover and hopeflly remember any details that he culd see during his sudden rise.*

(Well the forums have started to scroll for me again, makes posting so much easier, I'll be kicking it back into gear now.

If you want to wait for the Tanks that's up to you... bearing in mind they won't appear until level 5, and we're currently only half way through level 1)

During the quick glance to the stair well, Private Cid gets the chance to fire off a round into the Covanent entrenchment, a suitable distraction, they are still focusing their efforts on you and your cover, with a spray of fire flung passed Tex and Simmons between the doorway.

If you'd been able to stay and sight-see any later, you'd have noticed the Master Chief charging their flank, however you can make out most of the action by the sound alone. Bones snapping, and alien's are flung against the walls in all direction. MC is wrestling down an Elite, when Sarge catches up with half of the squad through the far door. The remaining Covanent are easily minced as several more marines appear on the floor above.

Tex looks around after all the fighting sounds stop. She gets up and lets her eyes go over the scenery, seeing an utterly messed up cafeteria without drinks.

Crap****.

Oh well.. Maybe there'd be drinks later. Tex fell in with who-ever she'd be best of falling in with and then... Held her rifle tightly to prepare what might happen in a bit. As in... More aliens!

Ok, wootage. I'm going to go with the suggestion to move away from the game and set it some time before Reach fell.

Will include some detail to keep it canon enough, but mostly, just er, a rip off of "Marines" which pretends to be "Halo"
