As Julian rode the lift up to Deck 1, the same deck that contained his Quarters in addition to the Bridge, he discovered that he could see the battle continue to unfold. Well, not really see, but sense the battle through the Mind Link. It was something Julian had never experienced before, even with all of his experiences with the Mind Link. The Mind Link was a method to transfer information amongst members of the crew and the ship’s computer at near lightspeed. However, all of that information was first processed through Kali, and presumably, watered down and streamlined to allow the human brain to comprehend it more quickly. When large amounts of information were required, Kali could arrange for a data dump, downloading the information into the user’s memory for them to shift through later.

This was much like one of those data dumps, only a continuously updating one. However Julian was able to process so much information quickly enough to understand it all, was beyond him. There was no way that Julian could have done this before, and yet what had changed? Despite the transfer of his brain into a Borg body, that would have only upgraded his physical, and not mental abilities. Unless . . .

Congratulations. I was wondering how long it would take your improved, but still inferior, monkey brain to figure that part out.

Meanwhile on the bridge, Kali continues to command the battle, watching as Aishlin’s ship finally joins the battle in a blaze of weapon’s fire.

Well well well . . . the b*tch finally found some balls. Good for her, not that her weapons did anything. Alright . . . Weapons Officer, now listen very carefully. I want you to target the area around that thing’s bridge, or at least what it uses for one. I then want you to get a lock on that area with our Chrono Weapons, and when we come around for another pass, I want you to fire them. Do you understand? Because if you don’t, then this time I’m going to do some very unpleasant things to you if you screw up.

Well then, record it for later study. If that was the Guardian’s surrender notice, it just got here too late. Weapons Officer, fire!!

"Phew, we better make this work, or it'll leave us in a rather embrassing situation, between this system and that Cube. Make it look good frigates, we're counting on you to draw in the Borg as close as possible so we can set off the disable signal.

We can't let the station down, not since we've just had the thing set up, I expect to be tractoring a large hunk of Borg salvage back there when this is over, you've all have your orders, *snap* to it."

*If all goes to plan the sattelites will transmit simultaneously to disable the Cube as it comes in range of the two frigates who are busily scanning the moon as a distraction... and the trap is sprung \o/.

Caughing a little with quick thump to his chest, a slight shiver twisting around his spine.

No1 - well sir we have the stuff we came for at least we can return to ANKAA or the nearest star system and then we can re-equip or refit and then try one of the other missions.

SO - we have a lot of data to as well

EO - once we get the viculum on line the Drones will serve us sir, the only thing is we will need a bigger ship to power and fit it - the ship will have to be at least frigate sized sir

MD - the drones i can remove the borg subserviance chip and block the back up

SO - it will need all or work Comms, me EO and MD

No1 - they will need at least 4 days to complete this

Chief Medical Officer: "Now, while you may hate me for this, I gotta do this. Under general protocols, I now relieve you of duty until you submit to proper medical treatment."

Bakan: "Nice try, but while we are in combat, that rule is nullified unless it is in cases of mental distress. And we are weakened here, more Alyassians can come at any time."

XO: "Sir, also the Dune Glider just arrived, complete with fresh repair crews and personal. She has taken over the defense, and as such we can stand down."

Chief Medical Officer: "Sorry sir, and congradulations on your promotion."

Bakan: "What promotion, AH!"

*Bakan grabs his arm but it is to late as the CMO injects Bakan with a hypospray. Feeling his world darken, Bakan stumbles, weaves, then falls, only to be caught by the two Marines.*

Some Time Later
*Grunting, Bakan felt himself wake up. Opening his eyes, he looked around to see the interior of a medical bay, but not one that he reconized right off the bat. Seeing several medical personal run about, Bakan grunted as he tried to raise himself up. Then, one of the personal looked at him from across the room, then blinked it seem right next to Bakan, gently pushing him down.*

Medical Personal: "Sir, you are not well enough to get up yet. It is surprising that you are even concious after we had to do minor brain surgery."

Bakan: "Ghd-se-brd-dshe..."

Medical Personal: "Oh darn, looks like your speech centers are still a little off-set, give me a moment."

*The Officer's eyes then surprisingly change color to a dark red, then return to normal.*

Bakan: "Yrd... Yodgs.....you are a Emergency Medical Hologram?"

EMH: "Right on Captain.. I mean Commander Bakan."

Bakan: "C-C-Commander?"

EMH: "Oh yes, you went into your coma after we got the backlog of messages. Your promotion went through."

Bakan: "W-Wh..."

EMH: "Where, oh you are onboard the Dune Glider, a most beautiful vessel I might say myself, under your command once you have recovered."

Bakan: "F-From what, I thought I only had a concusion."

EMH: "Well, that was the starting cause, afterwards your refusal to undergo medical treatment made it worse, until you ruptured several blodd vessels in your brain. Fortunally I was able to repair the everything before you suffered any damage, but in the process I installed a neural interface chip into your brain."

Bakan: "Why?"

EMH: "Well, you are no longer as young as you used to be being 87 now, but in order to get your brain functions back on track, I'm using it to help regulate your systems. Within a day you should be fully recovered, and the chip will only be used to communicate with the ship AI's."

*Off in a corner, a flicker of light appears, until the outline of a young women appears, surrounded in blue and purple hues with data flowing over her.*

Cortana: "AI, that's all you call me. Blah, I have more functionality that you will ever have. I'm Cortana by the way, AI for this ship."

EMH: "The Commander here has suffered brain injury, I'm taking it slow and easy."

Bakan: "Common, you know as well as I do 87 is not even middle life for our sub-set of peacekeepers."

*Pushing himself off, Bakan wavers, then manages to recover.*

Bakan: "I'm guessing we are on the Dune Glider right now, for I remember we launched spacedock, but the memory engrams crystal for our AI on Dune Rider didn't arrive."

Cortana: "Yes, we were able to pick it up. Currently Dorothy is getting used to her new home. It's quite nice to have a younger sister."

Bakan: "So... why are you here?"

Cortana: "Well sir, with another major galatic war looming on the horizon, it was felt that your little "fleet" here should have some additional firepower. Also, I was getting so bored of our patrol route, I mean, that one nebula the crew always stared as got so boring the second time we passed it."

Bakan: "How long have I been out?"

EMH: "Only about 31 hours."

Cortana: "But in that time the Dune Rider has been almost fully repaired and reloaded with some updates requested by Dorothy. Oh yeah, your former XO is now the Captain of the Dune Rider, though with your rank you are in command of the entire Armada. Even better new, we have captured two of the Alyssian Chimera Frigates. They have been fully staffed and are ready to come with us."

Bakan: "Amazing, making me obsolete already."

Cortana: "Oh never captain, perish the thought."

EMH: "Enough talking, I allowed this to go on cause the Commander needed the stimulation, but he needs rest."

Bakan: "Rest, there is no time for rest, I gotta learn about this new ship before we go underway again."

Cortana: "I can help with that, one micro-second, accessing your neural implant, downloading full technical specs and history of the Dune Glider."

*Bakan gasps and clutches his head, feeling as if someone just power-drilled into his brain and was filling it with knowledge. Data sheets, crew reports, tech specs, AI interface protocols, all and more flashing through his brain. Falling back, Bakan feels his brain actually adjust, getting used to the input, till finally at the end it feels no more painful than walking, as in not in all.*

Bakan: "Whoa..."

Cortana: "He likes it I think he likes it."

EMH: "Hmph."

*Sitting back, Bakan mentally starts going over all the data on his new ship.*

*Arriving at the bridge, Bakan steps out, and blinks. The bridge was even smaller than the one of the Dune Rider, which was surprising. Even more surprising was the presence of a Pilot at the back of the bridge, which took up so much space Bakan realized that without the Pilot and the interface stations, the bridge would be much larger. Looking at him, Bakan saw that like any Pilot race off-world it seemed to be bonded with the ship itself. Sitting there, it's four arms gracefully moving about the panals on the controls in front of it, it's oversized head turning to look at Bakan.*

Pilot: "Ahh, Commander welcome. Fine ship we have here."

Bakan: "Yes she is. Glad to have you aboard."

*Quickly scanning his records, Bakan found that the Dune Glider class ships were suppose to impliment a starburst FTL system that was used on a race of living starships known as Levithans. However, complications in the system led to it being set aside, with instead a slipstream core being installed.*

Pilot: "I must say, I will miss not being able to experiance the joys of controls a starburst system, but slipstream is so facinating. Not to mention, having long conversations with Cortana here, I can't imagine being anywhere else."

Cortana: "And I must admit having intelligent conversation is always a plus as well."

Bakan: "And what about the rest of us humans?"

Revan: "Oh, they just start talking about high end science crap when they get annoyed. Lt. Commander Revan, your new XO sir. Over at science is Lt. Bastila, with Lt. Commander Canderous Ordo being our Marine commander and ship security, and Lt. Carth Onasi over at tatical."

Bakan: "Nice. I take it Pilot also controls navigation at sublight."

Pilot: "Yes I do, though your station also contains controls as well. I know that at times I can't be as creative as some of you."

Bakan: "Interesting. Where is the chief engineer?"

Revan: "He's over at the Dune Rider completing repairs, Trask Ulgo should be back soon."

Bakan: "Very well."

*Sitting at his station, Bakan smiles. The station was configured in the way that he had his old helm station back 60 years ago when he stated off as a gunship pilot. Along with helm controls, there seemed to be optional controls for the weapons system and some basic shield controls as well. Looking it over, Bakan looks over at Pilot.*

Bakan: "So, you are connected to the ship, does that include the bio-organic hull."

Pilot: "Oh yes, I have been working with it to increase it's resistance to attacks. Both me and Cortana think that it will be more efficient than any other hull out there."

Cortana: "It learns quickly, but the best teacher is live fire combat to be honest. while I'm loath to suggest we go shoot someone down, it would be the best teacher."

Bakan: "Well, as I'm sure you all know, we have to complete a mission here. I know you all have been working hard at restoring my old ship. But now, we have to finish our mission. Cortana, Bastila, reestablish communications with the probes that the Dune Rider launched 2 days ago, and see what sensor data they have. Onasi, bring our shields online and begin warming up the weapons systems. Also load a round of missiles into our missile banks. Also communicate with Captain flapjack, let's link together and finish off this mission. Finally, see if Captain Darkling needs assistance."

"Good good. Comms, send message to Wo2 saying we would be glad of the help. Tell him as soon as his repair crews are on board, we'll be jumping back to Ankaa. The crew deserves some short shore leave and this ship could do with a new paint job. I've also got some upgrades to consider."

Comms: "Sir. Message sent to Wo2 confirming his request."

"Good. Helm, lay in a course for Ankaa. As soon as those repair crews are on board, hit it. ADCT and all repair teams, get aworking on getting our internal systems and hull repaired. External hull damage can be taken care off at Ankaa"

Tac: "Repair teams are on board sir. All repair teams reporting that the repairs have started. Hull breaches have been temporarily sealed"

Helm: "Aye sir. Course is laid in. Jump engines fully charged. Opening jump point"

*Flapjack walked onto the bridge just as the ships arrived at the third planet, he immediatly noticed the 2 assault shuttles loaded with infantry deploy to the planet surface when his Sensor Officer warned him of the incoming ships*

me: all hands to battle stations, complete charging of all weapons, shields to full power, all fighters ready for launch

Comms: Captain Bakan has opened a comm channel to the planet and to the allysians, he's informing us we'll probably get back-up from the Gal Varrons, we're probably going to get us into a fight here sir.

No1: we stand no chance here in this situation, but there might be a chance sir, i suggest moving to Gal Varron VIII, if the concordat heads out there, we can hide our fighters in the rings and let the fighters push asteroids out of the rings and into the concordat, we have plenty of fighters, 105 of them and with 105 sizeable roids being towards it, it can't possibly stop all of them, we might even be capable of doing some damage to it.

Helm: and if there is a fight, we can hide in the rings and that concordat can't possibly do that, we'd have the element of surprise sir.

SO: if we're going to do anything, those ships are headed straight for Gal Varron VIII (ooc/ that's where the other 2 frigates are, right? /ooc) so we'd better do it quick

me: very well, inform captain bakan of what we're going to try, ask him to keep those ships occupied for a while so we can set everything up, helm, set a course for Gal Varron VIII, both ships at highest possible speed, when the carrier arrives it is to launch all fighters and get into the rings to prepare for our little plan, after we do that, we'll make a run for Gal Varron IV, were the planetary defense grid will hopefully have powered up and put some firepower into those allysians

Helm: Aye sir, we're heading out at best possible speed and we'll be there well before those allysians are, they're after all at the edge of the system. The carrier will be there long before we get there tough.

me: Perfect, tactical, continue charging all weapons, engineering, ready the linear drive, we might have to bail out

Standing up from his seat carfully taking a stride across the bridge, his uniform loosely hanging around his body. A few small stains unseen in its crumpled mess from sitting within the chair for the last few hours, reaching abck to runa hand roughly through his hair a roughish and humble look about him.
"Very well get us out of here, take us to the nearest non alligned starbase or system within range. The less Ankaa knows of our activites the better. Out of sight, out of mind"
A small sneer flickering breifly across his face

*Standing up slowely, watching the main tatical hologram spinning slowely in front of him, Bakan sighs. A Battle Star vessel. The last time Bakan had seen such a vessel, it was over 40 years ago. In a massive operation, consiting of dozens of ships, the Battle Star had been defeated, at great cost, in that only 6 ships were still in fighting condition, the rest scrap, or worse.*

*Looking around at his bridge, Bakan looks into the faces of each and every single one of his bridge staff. Many of them had expressions of fear and shock, others were focusing to intently on their systems, and a rare few were talking to other stations. Smiling at those still focusing on their duties, Bakan walks over to the hologram of Cortana.*

Bakan: "Cortana, I want you to actively scan them. Find out as much you can about them, coordinate with Dorothy on the Dune Rider there. I want to know if they have any weak points, previous damage, hell, even what their crew is made up of."

Cortana: "That will be difficult, but I can try there."

Bakan: "That's all I ask. No1, coordinate with Dune Rider, I want both of our ships to full battle-readiness."

No1: "Battle-Ready, against THAT!?"

Bakan: "Trust me, bring up to full battle stations. I want every station triple-manned, all shifts, on BOTH ships. Communications, open a channel to the Gal Varon Prime IV defence fleet."

Communications: "Opening channel, you are on."

Bakan: "Greetings. I wish to thank you for your repairs to our ships here. However, it appears we have a even greater problem now. As I'm sure you have noticed, there is a rather large fleet, with the greatest problem being the Concordat Battle Star. Those things are rare, and only used in EXTREME combat situations, or when being used to raze planets. Thus it is imperitive that we unite against this threat. Alone, my ships nor Captain Flapjack's ships will have no chance. However, YOUR ships, YOUR fleet of Victory Destroyers can turn the tide of battle. I strongly suspect that if the commander of the Battle Star realizes that the battle will be lost, he will retreat. Please, for the defence of your home, join up with us. That is all."

*Waving his hand along his throat, the communications officer closes the channel.*

Bakan: "Communications, keep scanning for their reply. Fighter Commander, prepare our fighters for launch. Marine Commander, I don't know what technology those ships have onboard, so I want you to deploy the troops on all our ships accross the decks, assisting when need be."

Fighter Commander: "Scambling fighters, they will be ready for launch in 1 minute."

Marine Commander: "This will slow deployment time sir, but ordering the troops to fan out."

Bakan: "Hold the fighters in the bays for now. Communications, open a channel to the Alyssian fleet. In fact, relay the transmission to both Captain Flapjacks fleet and the Gal Varon defence fleet."

Communications: "Aye sir."

Bakan: "Cortana, while we have a open channel, see what you can get from their databanks, however, unless things go bad, take EVERY precaution and try to remain as undetectable as possible."

Cortana: "Why Captain, are you worried about me?"

Bakan: "Yes, cause you make this ship much more effective when you are intact."

Cortana: "Touche."

Communications: "Channel open sir."

Bakan: "Alyssian fleet, this is Commander Bakan. What is your purpose in this system? If it is hostile like the previous fleet, we will have no choice but to respond. It is my hope that we can settle this like reasonable beings. I await your reply."

Communications: "Closing channel."

Bakan: "Now, send a burst pinpoint transmission to Captain Flapjack. Let him know assuming we can get some backup, I plan on standing against these invaders, and that I have some plans, but am awaiting replies."

Communications: "Targetting transmission, sending data."

Bakan: "Pilot, get the slipstream core charged up and online. Plot a course away from this system, back to Ankaa control."

Pilot: "But why sir, didn't we just agree to help that planet."

Bakan: "I don't know the political structure of that planet. If politicians are in charge, then most likely they will not send anything, or 2 ships. However, if a Fleet Commander is in charge, then hopefully we will get a full fleet. However, if we do not have enough support, the battle will be able to continue for another day. It's a sad state of affairs, but it's what we have to deal with."

Pilot: "Yes, it saddens me, the planet looks so nice. Preparing slipstream course."

Bakan: "Helm, set course, take a round-about way to Gal Varon IV, full impulse for us, keeping us out of their weapon range. Order the Dune Rider to follow suit."

Helm: "Firing engines, full impulse."

Bakan: "Weapons officer, charge ALL weapons, load all missile and torpedo bays. I want to be ready to fire before I say fire."

Weapons Officer: "Way ahead of you, charging main energy cannons, missile tubes loaded for 1st volley, charging our super-weapons."

Bakan: "Engineering, if needed, be prepared to route power from the slipstream core into our shields, and superweapons. For now, keep the power in the core in case we have to jump."

Engineering Officer: "Working on it."

No1: "Now what sir?"

Bakan: "Now, we wait."

"Indeed we do. For one I have a few projects I want you to work on. I've sent the details to your station, you can start work when we get back. Also, I want to have a plan for when the refit is finished later today."

EO - It's that quick? These guys have good techies.

Of course, we only need sensible names, so have it known that any stupid ones will have their suggestor executed. Although not mandatory, a short reasoning on why they think their name should win, would be good. I'd say we give them 2 weeks and then we'll select the best 5 after which there will be a public vote about it. Oh and to the winner we'll give 5 credits to do whatever they like with. How about that?"
No1: I think it's too elaborate and time consuming, besides it's convenient to have names now and not in two weeks time. Let's just call them Redshift and Blueshift."
Bogg: "Hm, Redshift and Blueshift, I like that. Now how about introducing me to their 'captains'?"
No1: "They came with the ships that were given to us by the Federation, captain. I've not spoken to them myself yet, but their names are Richie Rowan and Eddie Atkinson."

* No1 taps a few buttons on the wall and a private viewscreen comes to life. The screen is split in two and one of them shows a bald guy with a pronounced pair of spectacles in a brown suit. He's sleeping and has various empty bottles in front of him. The other part shows a guy in a white shirt and a pair of jeans. He's holding a very explicit magazine in front of him and winks at it while sticking out his tongue at it.
* No1 coughs and the guy in jeans looks up from his magazine and into the viewscreen and startled as he is, immediately dumps the magazine under his desk, moves 1 hand over his longish hair and laughs nervously: "Eheheheh, hello captain, so pleased to meet you. You'll forgive me if I don't stand to attention, but you seem to have caught me with my pants down, umm, err, I mean I'm having a bad leg day today, ehee ahahaha."
* At that moment the bald guy with the spectacles wakes up, looks around and, notices the viewscreen and tries to focus, after which he hurriedly gets up, tries to stand to attention and immediately falls over. With some effort, he manages to climb back into his chair and tries to salute, but instead hits himself with his own fist, knocking himself out of his seat again.

Bogg: "So who is who?"
No1: "The one with the brown suit and the glasses that just dropped on the floor is Eddie Atkinson, the other one is Richie Rowan."
Bogg: "Very well, I've seen enough. Oh, 'captain' Rowan, your ship is now to be called Redshift and when your friend on the floor comes to, tell him his ship will carry the name Blueshift. Furthermore, I expect the both of you to perform satisfactory on this mission or I'll have you both slowly tortured to death in a most horrible way."

* Not waiting for a response, Bogg turns the screen off and gives Alison a meaningful look: "Why does the Federation do this to me? Do they want us to fail?"
* Before Alison can answer, the internal commsystem asks for their presence on the bridge, because they're closing in on the CSC system.

* Bogg looked at the system's scan readouts on the viewscreen and tried to grin like a brilliant evil mastermind: "Nothing we can't handle with our brand new phased particle phaser 8! Begin charging it this instant. I want it ready to fire once we enter the system with our guns blazing. We shall cause terror and mayhem like only true pirates can do!!"
No1: "I'm not so sure that's wise, captain. We're outnumbered and we shouldn't underestimate that space station; it looks pretty dangerous to me."
Bogg: "Oh, I suppose that you, once again, have a much better plan than I do, hmmm??"
No1: "I think so."
Bogg: "Well, in that case you'd better tell me now."

* No1 walks forward to the viewscreen and pushes some buttons to make the viewscreen display some schematics of the enemy ships and station, as she begins to explain: "The way I see it, we have 2 options here. The first option is the most simple option and that's to go in with our guns blazing and hoping we won't be torn apart by the enemy ships, whereas the other option is a cunning one."
Bogg: "Go on, I'm still listening."
No1: "Well, as I said before, that space station looks pretty dangerous, so the key is to take that out first. We could, of course, use our superweapons to destroy it. However, there is a more efficient way."
Bogg: "Like what?"
No1: "We will enter the system under cloak, sneak up on the space station while its shields are down and then we'll let the The Frivolous Rainbow fire all its ion and EMP cannons, effectively disabling them for a short period of time. During this time we will launch our marine assualt pods at the station's bridge. Once inside, our troops should be able to gain control of the bridge from where they can seal off all decks and prevent any fighters from being launched and any weapons from being fired. If we send enough troops, they'll be able to clean the station's key sections of enemy presence and then we can use it in our fight against the other ships."
Bogg: "It sounds like it could work, but what about the scoutships? They cannot cloak, and I'm pretty sure the CSC will demand a pretty damn good reason for their presence there."
No1: "I have thought about that. The scoutships are so small and so lightly armed that they will not be seen as a threat and the station will not bother to raise its shields. As for an excuse for their presence. Commanders Rowan and Atkinson will pretend to be CSC sympathisers that have come to this border system to help defend it against a possible Federation/Kipire/Asanawa attack."
Bogg: "WHAT? You want to use THEM for this plan? They'll screw up for sure!!"
No1: "You've seen captains Rowan and Atkinso for yourself captain. No one would ever believe them even if they told the truth and said they were Federation captains."
Bogg: "Hmm, I suppose you have a point. Alright, we'll use your plan, but I want to be sure it'll work, so I want you to run some simulations first."
No1: "I'll start working on it right away."
Bogg: "Comms, inform the other ships of our plans."
Comms: "Messages sent, captain!"
Bogg: "Marine commander Redbock, I want you to prepare all the troops for an assault on a CSC heavy space station. You're free to use the holodeck for this purpose. More details about the attackplan and the target will be provided by Commander Speckles, when she's done with her simulations."
MC: "Aye Capt'n, understood!"
Bogg: "Laura, reports mentioned an anomaly in this system, can you try to get any more information on that?"
SO: "Yes captain!"
Bogg: "Sarah, activate the cloaking device."
WO: "Activating cloak."

* Almost instantly The Dancing Starfish vanishes from sight, shortly followed by The Frivolous Rainbow, seemingly only leaving the two scout ships; Redshift and Blueshift to travel towards the CSC system. On board of the cloaked ships, troops have started making preparations for an assault and plans are being made.

*Space swirls and distorts as a huge vortex opens. Out of hyperspace limps the Chyrsalis, the huge command carrier. As it slows down, it turns towards the huge space docks of Ankaa, moving slowly towards them. Time passes, and the Command Carrier eventually reaches the shipyards, and moves into one, and stops. Huge clamps lock onto the ship, and workers start issueing forth from the inards of the shipyard and swarm around the the carrier like ants, as they start repairs on it.*

*Crazy, menwhile, was busy in his quarters. He had just sent over the money for the repairs to the Ankaa shipyard master, and was now in the process of transfering even more money for upgrades to his ship. Parts were being carefully removed, and sold off second hand, while destroyed parts were unceremoniously ripped out. A few bits were replaced and new components were installed as the ship went under a costly upgrade.*

*Having ensured everything was aok, and work was progressing, Crazy started searching through the mission boards. There wasn't much there. In fact, there was but one mission. Ankaa wanted someone to take some diplomats over to a new, and very powerful race. There was likly contact with Insectids and the CSC, but the reward was quite nice. It also required a diplomatic captain. Crazy wasn't so sure he could do the 'diplomatic' part, but he'd sure as hell try. Crazy quickly contacted the Ankaa mission people dudes, and said some stuff about taking on that mission when his ship was all nice and shinily repaired again, with a nice black and red paint job.*

Wo2: "Well that was quick. Helm bring us in."

*The two scout ships pulled near the station and docked side by side on its docking ports. The repair team's began the tedious work of unhooking parts and preparing them for new life in a larger, better ship. The one not needed were put on sale in the station.*

Wo2: "Give Captain Crazy a transmission before our enginers pull that out too. Tell him he was a great partner and I was happy to fight along side him, oh and also request our repair team back before he leaves the station."

Comm: "Message sent."

Wo2: Good. Contact Rakia on our sister ship and tell him to join me on the station for a little window shopping."

Comms - picking up a starnge transmission from the Gaurdian sir

the lights go out on the bridge and then th Pandora moved backwards in space visibly as everything was unloaded. The normal yellowish-purple energy streaks from the six photon cannons is soon backed up by another ten as Pandora's fighter escort lets rip. Ten thin bluish-green blasts also emit from the fighters as well. At the same time the nose mounted ion cannon let loose with it's electrical discharge, the forward facing nova missile launchers unleashed a swarm of no less than 32 torpedoes that quickly increased in size as 160 tiny EMP missiles joined the deadly cloud.

But it was the tremendous size of the blasts from Pandora's twin heavy pulse cannons that really drew the wandering eye. Two incredibly massive yellow energy beams erupted from Pandora twin beams of intense energy that struck with so much energy and force that under the weight of those two beams alone did the enemy ship seem to recoil.

And a spilt second later everything else hits the weakened spot....

time freezes

all ships seem to remain in position, all various kinds of weapon fire hit the Gaurdian at different spots

then as if in slow motion the hull of the Gaurdian balloons in places, all along the hull (in true manga/anime fashion) then there is a God Almighty explosion and bits of Gaurdian flie all around the area of space................

CAA - Greetings Capt PK san please be welcome, unf Capt ND cannot be with us, so we will have to let you go on ahead to find GAR AI, now we are not sure that he is in league with his father SAR AI. but we cannot take that chance. We need to bring him back alive to HARKUN so that we may question him.

It is possible that his father may try to contact him or even come for him, you must make sure that you get there first.

Now to the problem we have managed to put the location of him down to 3 systems as follows

system 1 - 30 light years away - 8 planets in the vast ARSUKA ION NEBULAE

system 2 - 45 light years away - no planets the vast DAI SO Asteroid Field and ships graveyard

system 3 - 45 light years away - no planets the vast FAI KAI LAN SHO Badlands (plasma storms and Gas Nebulae)

now the main problem is this all those areas are located in ULP space.

hopefully Capt ND will join you as you are underway

Comms - All ships ready, will open channel to their lead ship when we identify it.

Fluffie nodded and sat down in his chair again, having been standing around a moment before. He was slightly tensed... A bad thing, he'd have to play his part right. Hearing his SO give some comments about ships jumping in, he quickly straightened his KIPIRE COMMODORE uniform and focussed his mind, he'd have to sound convincing very soon.

SO - That's all ships jumped in, we are jamming sir.

Comms - Opening channel to lead ship...

The Comms dude nodded at Fluffie as the channel was opened, Fluffie standing up, taking a step or two forward, facing the viewscreen head-on.

"Attention Federation Convoy, please halt and co-operate. This is Commodore Slivek of the Kipire. You have not heard of me before, my unit and I work under strict secrecy. Afterwards, you will be obliged to keep silent about this meeting, everyone not involved will be kept in the dark about this - I am sure a capable commander such as you will be able to tell your crew what happened.... instead of what really happened. As another precaution, my science officer is running continious and extensive scans, as well is he occupied with making sure there are no communications, except those allowed by me.

However, I must get down to the matter at hand. We have multiple sources telling that there might be a dangerous hive virus aboard your convoy. This particular hive virus, known as Heratio by the few experts that have actually been able to study it, nests itself in an entire population before striking. When it strikes, it hits hard. I am sure you understand that we cannot risk such a virus making its way to Tau Ceti, one of the more important systems in the Kipire.

We will need to run some scans and possible other tests, I ask you to co-operate so that the entire proceeding shall take as little time as possible. My science department will run some scans on your ships now, please be so kind to deactive your shields if you have raised them to allow us to get the best and most accurate results from our scans.

This channel will remain open for you to contact us through, we will however stop transmitting from our side for now. Do not attempt to communicate outside this sector of space, we will however allow you to briefly inform your ships of what is going on. Remember though, this is a secret operation - preferably no-one needs to know, so be creative.

Slivek, or rather Fluffie, turns and nods at his Comms again, who quickly enters a command, stopping the transmitting from the Bebop. Having heard the words in Fluffie's "speech", he will allow the Federation convoy to communicate with each other.... And of course, he will try to hear what they are saying.

The science officer also is busy, ordering his available crewmen around. Seeing Fluffie look at him he nods and reports that he is running a bio-scan on the Federation convoy, trying to see if they have the virus with them. This however, of course, is all fake... But they'd have to keep it as real as possible...

"No1, I take it we are combat ready if we need to?"

No1 (SOLO) - Aye.

"Good. Now, we will wait for the SO to finish his scans... And for their leader to return a communique, I take it he will do so.

Solo - Quite so. Now... we wait.

Meanwhile on the bridge, Kali continues to command the battle, watching as Aishlin’s ship finally joins the battle in a blaze of weapon’s fire.

Well well well . . . the b*tch finally found some balls. Good for her, not that her weapons did anything. Alright . . . Weapons Officer, now listen very carefully. I want you to target the area around that thing’s bridge, or at least what it uses for one. I then want you to get a lock on that area with our Chrono Weapons, and when we come around for another pass, I want you to fire them. Do you understand? Because if you don’t, then this time I’m going to do some very unpleasant things to you if you screw up.

“U-understood, ma’am!! Acquiring target lock!!”

“Umm . . . Commander Kali, I’m picking up a communication of some sort from the Guardian.”

Can you figure out what it is, Communications Officer?

“Umm . . . no ma’am. Its some sort of encrypted transmission. I might be able to break it . . . eventually.”

Well then, record it for later study. If that was the Guardian’s surrender notice, it just got here too late. Weapons Officer, fire!!

*Suddenly everyone is forced to hold on to something as the deck shakes violently. Another enemy torpedo had gotten through.*

WO: *ahem* Done sir. What now?

Hewitt: Notify our fighter squad. On my mark I every ship to fire their photon cannon and PPD at the same co-ordinates.

WO: Transmitting sir...

Comms: Patching you through to the WC so you can give the order.

Hewitt: WO, on the same order I want you to fire every thing we have, photon cannons, nova torps, EMP missiles, ion cannon and most important of all - the heavy pulse cannons.

No.1: An Alpha Strike sir? But Pandora hasn't performed any tests let alone initated all her weapons at once before. What if she blows an...

Hewitt: Nothing will go wrong No.1. Trust me...

*Pandora moved slightly in space as the helmsman changed the angle of attack as per Hewitt's orders. Every single weapons port on her hull began to glow, lighting her up like a christmas tree. Torpedoes locked on, the EMP launchers emerged from their internal position and the Jupiter class fighter/bombers took aim. Everything was now set for hell to be unleashed.*

WO: HPC's charged!!

Hewitt: All ships FIRE!!

*Pandora moved backwards in space visibly as everything was unloaded. The normal yellowish-purple energy streaks from the six photon cannons is soon backed up by another ten as Pandora's fighter escort lets rip. Ten thin bluish-green blasts also emit from the fighters as well. At the same time the nose mounted ion cannon let loose with it's electrical discharge, the forward facing nova missile launchers unleashed a swarm of no less than 32 torpedoes that quickly increased in size as 160 tiny EMP missiles joined the deadly cloud.
But it was the tremendous size of the blasts from Pandora's twin heavy pulse cannons that really drew the wandering eye. Two incredibly massive yellow energy beams erupted from Pandora twin beams of intense energy that struck with so much energy and force that under the weight of those two beams alone did the enemy ship seem to recoil.

And a spilt second later everything else hits the weakened spot....*

Main Story Line

the lone war frigate with no markings makes its way thru the vastness that is Hyperspace

hooded figure - Capt how long till we emerge?

Capt - a human - According to the information you have given us..... about 3 hours, are your sure these are the co-ordinates according to space nav comps there are no planets this far outr let alone any inhabited ones and there are no star systems.

again the ship glides thru the vast empyness that is hyperspace and then it begins to slow, a large blue wormhole appears before it as it emerges into normal space on the edge of a vast 72 planet starsytem

SO - scanning ..... this is impossible.... the starsyetm of that size should not be here... but yet the scanners and the screens cannot lie.

HF - to no one in partcular - At last the legendary system of ARABAN, at last if the legends are true i shall find him and his lost Starmarda.......

HF waits at the comms for what seems like an eternity and then

SK - I hear you my faithful servant now blast the ice from my prison and release me

*Pandora's escort breaks formation and speeds off after, then ahead of the federation salvages. One by one, they begin pulling off a number of stunts and aerial manuveres, cutting in front of the worker vessels and braking suddenly. Comms: Yes sir. *punches in a few buttons to open the link and then after he is done, grabs a small disk labelled 'CALL CENTER QUEUE RECORDING LOOP' and inserts it into his console. He chuckles evilly to himself as he gets to work.* We have a private channel open with the Kronos sir.

Hewitt: "Kronos, this is Captain Leto Hewitt of the Pandora do you read me?"

*static fills the viewscreen*

Hewitt: "Come in Kronos"

*Suddenly the screen becomes active showing the devestation of the Kronos bridge*

My god...

Hewitt: "We wish to assist you in anyway we can... we've sent out salvage crews to collect pieces of the wreck and are willing to hand over several pieces of your choosing once we have them on board and away from greedy federation hands. If there is anything else we can do to help please let us know... med crews, repair teams... let us know."

*Suddenly the screen fills with static again.*

Harkun, planet of legends, intergalactic trade centre and the seat of the Asanawa Shogunate's military power. The world which was lost and then found once more by the Shogun. The world that less than half a century ago was devoid of intelligent life, and today was a bustling city world with one of the largest populations of any planet in either galaxy. Countless millions of people, citizens of the Empire, live in its gigantic high towers and work in its thriving markets and industrous foundries. Over a hundred thousand of the elite Samurai Marine Corps stand ready to repel invasion from the ground, and an entire fleet of the Imperial Navy, its men some of the finest in existence, stand ready to repel invasion from the skies. The city that now covered much of the planet's surface was not only functional and capable of housing the planet's massive populance, but it was also incredibly beautiful, Chusa No Dachi thought to himself as he sat in the hold of the transit shuttle, preparing for a short flight to one of the massive Orbital Stations where his ship, the Shikinami, was berthed along with its two fellow task force warships, the Ariake and the Tokitsukaze - an example of the Imperial Navy Research Department's latest class design. The Orbital in question was a civilian one - with the number of Asanawa Clan warships in the system since Sar Ai's apparent treachery the military Orbitals were out of berthing places - and so the shuttle that the Third Shingen was taking up to the Orbital was also civilian. As such, No Dachi was dressed in a typical day-to-day kimono rather than in the somewhat more practical naval military uniform, which he would change into once aboard the station. Both his katana and wakizashi were sheathed, with the bamboo sheaths themselves thrust through the silk sash running around his waist. These two swords showed him as some kind of military man to any Shogunate citizen, since only samurai, the warrior class, were allowed to carry them. In the Third Shingen's right hand was a long, thin package wrapped in the finest midnight-blue (the Federation's colours) silk. This was a gift to Commander Planetkiller from the Shogun himself, a sign of great honour in the man's fighting alongside the Third Shingen in battle. A katana and a wakizashi, both crafted by one of Harkun's finest swordsmiths, which were to be given to the Federation officer. Not only did the gift of the two swords grant the man the privelages of a samurai when he was in Imperial territory, but also they were both formidable weapons, made from advanced alloy folded no less than fourteen times to create millions of fibre-thin layers, the layers that gave samurai blades their incredible durability and strength. Perhaps, thought the Third Shingen, Commander PK, as a geijinn, would not quite appreciate the honour, or indeed wear the blades, but nonetheless he had most certainly earned them. The shuttle was crowded with civilians, who apparently took him for a normal naval officer rather than the heir of the Shogun, for after nodding politely they did no more than settle down and wait for the shuttle to depart. No Dachi did not mind this, for he found the way that citizens who did recognise him fell to their knees and put their foreheads to the ground most tiresome...

Presently the pilot announced their imminent departure, and with the drag of G-force upon its passengers, the shuttle lifted off into the sky. Once more, the Chusa considered Harkun III's extraordinary beauty. The pillar-like towers arranged with the utmost presicion to allow sunlight to reach even the ground, all of gleaming, pure white stone. The Shogun had been insistent upon the mass migration to the planet that its natural beauty was to be preserved at all costs. The immense wealth of the Empire's holdings had allowed this to be so. Its fusion engines burning brightly, the shuttle lifted first out of the atmosphere, then, rotating slightly to generate gravity, glided its way to the station. Within ten minutes, No Dachi was walking through one of the Orbital's thousands of corridors toward his ship, now dressed in uniform befitting his rank, but still carrying the gift and still with both of his own swords. As he approached the elevator that would take him down to the docking terminal at which his ships were berthed, No Dachi produced his personal communicator and punched in the military frequency code for Commander PK's bridge. After a few moments, the Coms Officer appeared on its tiny screen, then the Third Shogun began to speak.

"Greetings, Coms Officer. I am just approaching my flagship now, we will be ready to depart within five minutes. Please apologise to Commander Planetkiller on my behalf. Also, please inform him that I carry a gift to him from my father. That will, perhaps, do something to placate his natural irritance at my unnaceptable lack of punctuality..." Said the Chusa, keeping his tone friendly and relatively informal, since with geijinn it was not necessary to observe the many strict courtesies and formalities of Asanawa Clan Shogunate society...

Part I...: The Bridge

"Unusual transmission? What do you mean, unusual transmission?"

Looking up from a small screen on his funkified Captain's Chair, which was certainly not showing Fluffie some of his favorite comics, the Captain's face was a puzzled one. Cursing himself for not having put more attention into the spy problem... A problem which he thought he had fixed by jamming all communications... Fluffie stares at his SO.

"Trace that transmission and close the section of with our security force fields - have a detachment of SSS meet me there, pronto!"

Fluffie quickly gets to his feet and starts walking, intending on heading to the Armoury to arm himself with something sufficiently big to threaten someone a lot. As he walks away, Fluffie throws some last minute orders at his No1, only half hearing the reports about jump points opening - obvious indicators that his pretty plan was not going through anymore - they'd have to fight their way out...

Especially with that last second communication from Miss... Prime? Who seemed to be in charge of FREE BOOTERS. Shaking his head and quickly turning his sexual drive low again, Fluffie focussed on his anger of the one who spoilt his pretty and shiny plan.

"Solo, ready the Jupiter Jazz for departure and launch all other strike craft. Take command of the battle, I'll report to the Jazz as soon as I've dealt with this problem."

Solo: Aye Sir!

Part II...: The Walk

Fluffie walked the walk of one who walks angrily, one who walks with bad intentions - one who walks the walk of one who's about to shove the bad end of a damned nasty weapon into someone's mouth. The walk of someone who would do that - without knowing for sure wether he would be pulling the trigger or not. In short, Fluffie walked a nasty walk, but not necesarily for himself.

Several crewmembers threw themself against the sides of the corridors hastily as they saw the boiling Captain approach... They didn't know for sure what exactly was wrong with the Captain... They guessed it had something to do with the upcoming battle - the red flashing lights indicated a red alert, the call to battle stations a few seconds earlier was just a prophet of the red lights, or at least, such is one way of looking at it.

But, the walk of Fluffie was leading him to the Armoury. The walk, this walk, the first walk was nearly done.

Part III...: The Communiquée

Solo had jumped into the Captain's Chair, perhaps a bit too eagerly... But it wasn't every day he would get to command a Battle Carrier, let alone a Battle Carrier and its small escort fleet. Smiling for a little second, he remembered his manners! The Captain of the Battle Cruiser had spoken to them, something about killing them and bounties.

Solo: Comms, channel to the Battlecruiser, if you please?

Comms: Aye Sir!

Solo tapped a few buttons himself, while the Comms officer was busy pressing the required buttons to open a channel to another ship. The buttons Solo tapped got him an all-ship intercom, along with the insurance of the red alert alarm and red, flashing lights across the ship.

Solo: Attention all stations, red alert. Prepare for combat! All crew to their stations!

Comms: Sir, channel open.

Solo nodded, walking to the view screen.

Solo: Ah, hello there Trapper Class. Our glorious leader is concerning himself over some serious and personal matters, if you have any complaints about this battle, please direct them to me, I have the wheel so to say. Oh and, the bounty really isn't that great right now, might I suggest you go away and try another time?

Making a hand signal behind his back, the channel was closed a second later, Solo snickering softly - he found his message quite amusing. However, the time for amusement had stopped... It was time for combat and battle now.

Solo: Comms, all ships are battle ready? I know we are...

Comms: All ships are ready and waiting for your orders, sir!

Solo: Very well then...

Part IV...: The Armoury

Random Armoury Officer 1: Sir! SIR! You can't possibly be serious! That weapon is.. is..

Random Armoury Officer 2: It's GODDAMNED SCARY, that's what it is!

"Aye. I know. That's what I want, ain't it?"

RAO 1: Guess it is...

RAO 2: Think of the crew! You'll be walking through our corridors, they'll see it!

RAO 1: At least take it in a bag or something!

"A BAG?! I didn't come here to shop damnit, I came here to get me a weapon to shove down someone's throat and I want THIS ONE!"

RAO 2: Fine! TAKE IT!

RAO 1: NOT FINE! Take this bag!

Fluffie turns the 'bad end' of the scary weapon he managed to get an hold on, despite all the attempts from the two Armoury Officers, at them. They almost... well, not even almost, they instantly turn pale, their eyes trying to resist the urge to look at the weapon, but failing utterly.

Seeing the weapon having this effect, some sense manages to get through to Fluffie's head. Sighing shortly, he holds the weapon down again.

"Fine. Give me the bag,"

The RAO 1 takes the weapon and quickly puts it in a black, leather bag, a bag which desperately tries to hide what is in it, but to the trained eyes of the Armoury Officers, the weapon is still to identifyable.

Fluffie nods and swings the bag over his shoulder, walking out of the Armoury again, heading towards the sealed down part of his ship, where the traitor was waiting....

Part V...: The Strike

After some extensive ordering from Solo, the ships break the tight formation they had been flying in earlier. The three freighters quickly launch their Runabouts, before quickly speeding away from the big cannons of the Kipire squadron, though trying to stay reasonably close to the Bebop, in case the carrier would require the extra Anti Fighter or Anti Missile Defences from them.

The 6 Runabouts from the freighters join up with the 10 Runabouts from the Bebop, quickly getting into a battle formation and speeding off towards the 4 Dorsal Gill destroyers, followed by the Bebop's 10 Gunboats. The Gunboats remain together in one strike formation, the Runabouts split up into two strike wings of 8 Runabouts. As soon as they get in range, weapons' fire lances out from the three strike groups, beginning to pound the first three Light Destroyers continiously as they swarm around them.

Following in a short bit after the above, 20 Nebulae Class Heavy Fighters approach the fourth and final Dorasl Gill in a deadly strike formation. Their shields full frontal to take on any incoming hits, the hefty fighters open up at the belly shields of the Light Destroyer.

The four frigates, which by now also have long since broken formation with the carrier approach their targets - the two Kipwakes. Indeed, Kipwakes, the glorious ships of the Kipire. However, Solo intended these two beauties... To do this, he'd need to get the shields down, though.

To this end, the four frigates formed two pairs, each opening up on one of the Kipwakes with their shield shredding Phased Hellbore Cannons, the Light Plasma Cannons aboard the frigates joining the display of firepower, launching their plasma missiles as fast as they could, streaming down upon the shields of the cruiser sized destroyers. After their first volley, the frigates begin circling around the destroyers, allowing two bomber wings of 20 Jupiters each to zero in, one wing on each destroyer. Releasing their deadly payload and firing with every remaining weapon they have, the Bebop itself, in the background, approaches the TRAPPER CLASS.

With a smile on his face, Solo orders the WO to open up, full power.

Not even a second later, the six Heavy Neutron Cannons aboard the carrier open up, all aimed as closely together as they could. The fire from the H. Neutrons still roaring down upon the Cruiser, the five FTL scouts from the Bebop, also armed with Neutron Cannons, begin their final approach, their weapons opening up hot on the spot the Bebop had pounded moments before with its Heavies...

And finally, speeding through the entire battle scene remain exactly 100 Slipstream Fighters, desperately waiting for missiles, torpedoes or strike craft to be launched. Whichever it was, the Fighters were to zero in on it and destroy it incely - no mercy. But, as long as no fighters or other targets were launched, these babies just make sure they'd keep alive amongst the heavy firefight.

Overview:
TRAPPER CLASS:
Bebop - Opening up on forward shields, six Heavy Neutron Cannons. Boosting shields and weapons with power from the Slipstream Drives.
x5 Bebop FTL - Opening up on forward shields moments after the Bebop, 6 Neutron Cannons each. After first assault, they dodge as much as they can, before preparing their second attack run.

KIPWAKE CLASS (x2):
x2 Frigates (two Phased Hellbore Cannons, four Light Plasma Cannons) and x20 Jupiter Bombers on each KIPWAKE, aiming for aft section. All go into evasive manouvers between their first and second shot and so on.

DORSAL GILL (x4):
DG 1-2: x8 Runabout each, flying evasively in a strike wing, Using all weapons, going for top shields/section.
DG 3: x10 Gunboat. Firing all weapons at full power at the engines (aft section) of the destroyer. Flying evasively after their first shot, they are trying to keep a strike formation.
DG 4: x20 Nebulae Heavy Fighter. Using their multi-directional shields to keep themselves safe during their attack run, they are flying evasively and they are using all weapons at full power.

100 Slipstream Fighters - Hunting down any missile, torpedo or fighter/strike craft launched by the enemy fleet.

Hewitt: Right, I've had just about enough of this... Comms! Hail the vessel ahead of us if you please. Don't stop doing it until you get a reply.

Comms: Aye sir, punching through now...

I see that the phased hellbore cannon now uses 5 turret mounts instead of 4, is that correct? (I've been using them as 4 mount users on my ship.)

I'm also curious to know if there's a way to estimate the power of a weapon. Do I have to look at the number of mounts they require or the cost or something else perhaps? Some weapons look really good in description but they do not cost much and don't use that many mounts either, whereas other weapons look less good, but require a lot more mounts. Is there any chance you'll classifying what type of damage some of the less obvious weapons (e.g. disruptors) do?
