I need retro games
And i need them now.
I recently aquired an old laptop for free from work, as it was being thrown away otherwise.
It is far from top of the line - 500Mhz celeron with 128Mb ram.
So far, I have put Worms World Party on it and that seems to run fine.
However, I'm out of ideas for what else it could take.
So kindly post oldish but games here.
Ohh I just thought, some older C&C games should work...

Master Of Orion 2
Ascendancy
Alpha Centauri
Civilization 2
All of those have aged fairly gracefully.

Re: I need retro games
this thread seems appropiate for this. I have a couple of old games (Worms and Star trek: tng) that only run in dos. How do I play these on Windows XP?

Re: I need retro games
heh, I pulled and wrecked one out of an old computer only recently. It wasn't until my hammer was thurrowly embedded in the drive that I thought afterwards it might have been useful for loading some of my old games again.

Secret of Mana is excellent, highly recommend it. Chrono Trigger was also a great play (the thing about walking round the walls of that room four times, how did they come up with that idea?).
Isn't Seiken Densetsu just Secret of Mana 2 (make sure you get a translated copy btw ?

I don't care that you disagree. I know full well that no-one on here agrees.
You are all wrong.
(i can't decided if civ3 is better or worse, it's certainly not that great).
edit : fear the neg rep storm!

Civ 2 (and civ 1) are far too fantastic for you to comprehend, clearly
