Re: just a quick question about drinking
One unit, one hour I think.
2.7ish units per pint of Stella.

Re: just a quick question about drinking
start drinking early, stop drinking at 12-ish
have a decent sleep.
If you are planning on only sleeping 5 or less hours, i suggest no alcohol.

Re: just a quick question about drinking
One hour per unit is what I've always been told, so basically if you stop drinking at 12, don't have more than 3 pints, though not drinking would be my advice.

Re: just a quick question about drinking
do what i did...which was be slightly over the limit for the driving lesson, after vomitting 3 times before hand, and my hands were shaking that I had to grab a hold of the steering wheel. I didnt know what I was doing as I was still intoxicated from the night before.*
*Dont do that im not proud, get pissed, dont go to the driving lesson.

Re: just a quick question about drinking
Do a TomKat and drive drunk. It's great. I found out it's going to cost me £1200 per annum for my insurance once I pass my test again in July. Hoo-****ing-rah!

Re: just a quick question about drinking
I'd skip the driving lesson for someone's birthday.
I can't remember ever being at someone's birthday gathering and not being trolleyed beyond all recognition.
Grandma's included.

Re: just a quick question about drinking
I favour my solution, as it means you can drink as much as you want, have fun, and still go to the lesson in the morning. It's also highly cost-effective.

Re: just a quick question about drinking
When I got back from this party a few weeks ago I slept over at a mates place. I went home at about 11:00 the next morning. I didn't realise I was still pissed untill I was half way home and things were moving really odd and I could only focus on the center of the road.
I had my last at around 3:30 in the morning BTW, which was a shot of tequila or vodka I think. Some other guy from our group drove us back to my mates house, also half-drunk. Very slowly. Smoking weed in the car, we parked the car in front of the supermarket near our mates house, waiting for him because he decided to walk home.
We were standing there for about 10 minutes... perhaps it was half an hour, I don't know, when suddenly a female police officer knocked on the window of the car. The guy who drove us, half drunk, got out. The police woman said the alarm went off in the supermarket we were parked infront of. We told the police woman we didn't know a thing and were just "sleeping" in the car because we were too pissed to drive home. She told us that was a good idea and went off.
Later I heard the police woman uttered the words "geez, who the hell is smoking weed in the car".
Cops in the Netherlands rock.
That was probably one of the coolest night I've had in a long time.

Re: just a quick question about drinking
Is there no way you can phone the driving instructor in the morning claiming to be ill or something, and reschedule it?

Just cancel the damn thing and do it at 2pm or something. It's not like you'll be doing anything important, is it?

Re: just a quick question about drinking
It is one unit per hour that your body CAN get rid of, however I believe it takes 24 hours for your body to completely get rid of it. Best bet is to not get wasted. Just have 6 to 8 pints, and get tipsy rather than wasted. Then you'll prolly be ok (unless you are a fairly small chap).

Re: just a quick question about drinking
6-8 pints is 12-16 units of alcohol. So you're saying that 'maybe' that'll be gone in 16-18 hours, but he'll be fine in 5-6 hours? :|

Re: just a quick question about drinking
I never thought of it like that. It's just what I drink when I have to be up early for whatever reason. Usually stop about 11-midnight though when that's the case, so it would be more than 5-6 hours, especially when you consider you start drinking earlier than when you stop, so your body has processed some of it already, but I guess 3-4 pints would be a little more responsible. :/

6-8 pints would do more than just get me a little tipsy.
You drink too much.

Even George Best would be more than "tipsy" after six to eight pints.

Re: just a quick question about drinking
We did the '7 before 7' thing the other night (started at 5).
I haven't a clue what happened between the hours of 8 pm and 3 am.
The absolute most i can drink is ~10ish pints and that's a 'say goodbye to the rest of the weekend' job.

Re: just a quick question about drinking
Would it be better than getting banned from driving before even passing the test?

Drink at most 1 pint every 2 hours, and stop drinking about 1am latest.

Re: just a quick question about drinking
If it was me i'd have cancelled the lesson (and to hell with having to pay for it).
That's if it was a close m8's bday.
If it wasn't id have had at most 4 pints and gone home *shrug*
