Bit delayed as only found thread due to searching for my name as I was trying to find a couple of threads.
Anyway not bother as i'm not a native of Farnborough. Was born in Carlisle but spent my formulative years (2-8) in the Manchester area before moving here. I've attended Farnborough matches before and keep an eye out for results but dont really support them

Yeah, was up there in June visiting my gran in hospital and stood out like a sore thumb Although wouldnt say I talk properly as I have a bit of a mixture of accents and dialects. Obviously picked up some Cumbrian from my parents, some Manc from my years in Manchester with it rounded off by a bit of this posh sounding southern tone Much prefer the Cumbrain way of speaking though just sounds alot more friendly than the stuck up sounding southern accent.
Strange going back there though, can never get used ti going into a shop and have the staff strike up a conversation with you, doesnt happen down here your lucky for a thank you as they look down their nose at you

That's one of the things I love about being up here, that and the fact that pretty much anywhere in the city you can see the mountains (on a clear day of course). Unfortunatly you can also see the Civic Centre

Re: [Football] Gloating !
Anyone here support some mining village football team starting with A?
The mighty mighty Barton Rovers (who have beaten Luton Town - granted Boston ddi that as well, but hey) won the other day 10-1

Re: [Football] Gloating !
wow, my friends boyfriend is from Carlisle.
What a coincidence.
Oh and with regards Champ Man - Stevenage Borough winning Premier League 5 times and semi finals of Champions league. I'm still boasting about that. Haven't played for a while though. Accidentally kicked the reset button after an 8 game winning streak and got pissed off.

Well my local team is Aberdare which is a mining village, but they play somewhere in the lowest depths of the Welsh league.
