100 Greatest [insert something]
Now they've decided to do albums.
This 100 Greatest things is getting annoying.
EDIT: By the way, it's on Channel 4 right now.

Re: 100 Greatest [insert something]
Yeah, I can't be bothered to see all the albums, as I won't have listened to most of them (just individual songs).
I'm watching the BAFTAs instead.

I was going to say there should be a 100 Greatest SOMMWS moments, but then I realised those ****ing bastards at Channel 4 would never allow it, so it's an impossible dream.

Re: 100 Greatest [insert something]
I'm watching the 100 greatest albums and i'm surprised I have as many of them as I do. My taste in music can't be as bad as I thought it was....
Can't believe some of the crap that's in it though.
The Libertines ?
It's good but not that good. And No Pixies/Motorhead/Sisters Of Mercy ?

Since I can't be arsed to watch it, I'll just wait for them to post the results on their websites.

Re: 100 Greatest [insert something]
The Beatles are justifiably dominating.
Coldplay's Parachutes at 13 is a joke, as is the narcissistic pointless drone of Radiohead being anywhere in the top 10.
At least Jimmy Carr isn't peddling his obnoxious mug across my screen this time.

Radiohead #1
Bloody brilliant album, but not what i expected to be #1 but still its not a proper poll if you have to pick the top 100 from a list of 100 nominations !!

hahahahahahaha Radiohead the best hahahah album ever hahahahaha
OK Computer wasn't even as good as the Bends, and that can induce a coma faster than you can pop a tub of aspirin. now I want everyone who voted to explain why Led Zeppelin IV wasn't in the top 15. that was the worst list yet.

I don't think that's too surprising, not close to my personal top-100 at all, but I think it was quite predictable.

Re: 100 Greatest [insert something]
OK Computer generally does well in UK votes for best album so it's hardly surprising (or rigged for that matter). Most of the people who vote in these thing seem to be a late teen to forty something white male demographic so a band like Radiohead doing well is to be expeced.
U2 being that high is hilarious tho.

As for Nirvana being #3, that just comes down to years and years and years of emo-loving teenagers wearing hoodies and masturbating over the fact Cobain blew his head off.

Not really. Nevermind is a damn good album.
If it was purely an image thing I'd expect their other albums to all be highly placed too.
Plus the album was not only one of the fastest selling but also one of the most critically acclaimed before Cobain killed himself. But I'm sure that was all down to afforementioned teenagers who managed to gain access to time travel equipment. Because, hey if you don't like something it must be shit to every other rational person in the world, right?

Agreeing with all anti-radiohead points. People who like them call them "inspirational" and "original", but the only band i think they've influenced is Coldplay, who are even worse.

No, its my reply to those who use those arguments about Radiohead. I find that album, like everything they've done, bland and uninspiring.
I nearly wet myself when i heard G4 cover "Creep". It actually gave more life to it.

Re: 100 Greatest [insert something]
I personally think Coldplay & Nirvana's albums are great although I'm not sure why they've chosen Parachutes instead of A Rush of Blood to the Head.
MJ's Thriller is something wicked though.
