IRA calls it a day
Following the murder of Robert McCartney (who showed worrying signs of lack of displine within IRA) and Adams calls for a "evalution" in April, it doesnt come as a big suprise, but still:

A sad day for the culture and heritage of Northern Ireland.

Re: IRA calls it a day
great, so all the IRA members that were inactive can go to the pub in safety, and all the ones that weren't can join the real IRA and keep blowing things up.

Re: IRA calls it a day
Its a good thing obviously but does anyone (especially from the mainland) really pay that much attention to NI politics anymore?
and like enby said, some of the more extreme members may not accept this and go on to form the 'uberreal hard men IRA'
edit and i hope that this doesn't mean that all that happens is that the IRA members go on to rename themselves 'sosolid catholic crew squad' and carry on the bank robberies/extrortion/various other fund raising methods.

Re: IRA calls it a day
Well the IRA have a more sustainable source of potential recruits...
although AQ get points for dedication to the cause.

Re: IRA calls it a day
anything that pisses off ian paisley is to be lauded. talking on BBC news, he was approaching apoplexy, so a round of applause for the IRA i think.
