Best place to live for 2005 by the Economist.
Bare in mind this isn't the UN rating that we've all been basing our pissing arguments against.
'TOP TEN COUNTRIES'
1 Ireland
2 Switzerland
3 Norway
4 Luxembourg
5 Sweden
6 Australia
7 Iceland
8 Italy
9 Denmark
10 Spain
13 USA
25 France
26 Germany
29 Great Britain
Quote:
Researchers took into account not just income, but other factors considered important to people's satisfaction and well-being.
They included health, freedom, unemployment, family life, climate, political stability and security, gender equality and family and community life.
The Economist said: "Ireland wins because it successfully combines the most desirable elements of the new, such as low unemployment and political liberties, with the preservation of certain cosy elements of the old, such as stable family and community life."
The magazine admits that measuring quality of life is not a straightforward thing to do, and that its findings will have their critics - "except, of course, in Ireland".

Well there you have it, if Jonny complains about anything we can tell him to **** off as he's spoiled and he doesn't know how hard it is to live elsewhere.

It's easy to say your home country should have been number one, so I wont bother, but Australia really should have rated higher if their yardstick for Ireland is anything to go by.

GDP/Capita is roughly $55,000.
I assume this gave them a massive boost.

Clearly any survey should take into the account the relative attractiveness of a countries women.

Re: Best place to live for 2005 by the Economist.
Canada didn't figure probably because the currency is so weak here and the employment factor isn't perfect, but on the flipside it's cheap as shit to live in... some of these 'better' places to live I don't believe come with better standards of living cause you pay through the nose for everything...
