FAO: tomkat
For shame!
Not only have you failed to make a thread regarding the new series of Big Brother (even after I reminded you!) but you failed to make a thread regarding the new series of Big Brother in which all of the contestants are female!
You've let the team down. :crymeariver:
I'm not really a fan but I like to watch the beginning to decide if the people in there are going to provide some light entertainment or make me want to commit suicide. But this time it begins on E4. So I can't choose! :crymeariver:

Re: FAO: tomkat
People who watch big brother are cretins and ironically acknowledging/mocking your own cretinry doesnt make it any less cretinous; well done in playing your part maintaining the cultural sewer.

Re: FAO: tomkat
Incidently, the new presenter of Big Brothers Big Mouth is non other than Chris Moyles.
You know you love it!

Re: FAO: tomkat
That was only a decent program because of Russel Brand (an acutal comedian), now it will just be sexist drivel with a twist of "I necked back 10 pints last night and had a curry, you can call me god."

Re: FAO: tomkat
I actually haven't seen any of Big Brother yet, as I was watching the Apprentice.
It's screened again at 8am tomorrow though, so I'll watch it then!

I hate you Craig. I was blissfully unaware that a new series had even started till I opened this thread, completely unaware of what was contained within

russell brand isnt funny, wasnt funny, and is incapable of being funny. its not like ricky gervais, i wont compromise on this and say 'well ok i guess that sketch was passable'. He's the kind of comic that makes me not care about the stand up scene

I find Russel Brand quite amusing, granted I've only heard his radio show/podcast which is quite good.

Re: FAO: tomkat
I have never watched a Big Brother-ish show (Big Brother, Temptation Island, the list goes on), and I fully intend to keep it that way for many years to come. If I want reality, I'll go take a walk outside or talk to my friends or family.

I think turning up at work on September 12th dressed as Osama Bin Laden is quite funny.
I also think that his comedy is well thought out and it is a good act (you do realise it is an act right?) The guy is fresh in terms of what he is doing and works well interacting with people from celebratities to the average joe.

I have never tried crab but I know that I'd hate it. If I want food, I'll simply make myself a sandwich.

Re: FAO: tomkat
posting to agree with jer and Deffeh, Russel Brand is painfully unfunny and should be run over by a ****ing train, he is seriously shit, especially with his "bye bye" thing which just makes me want to stab the little picture of him that I see on my screen in the eye.

I think that's quite funny.
I must be internet uncool this week after admitting that I like Take Thats new song, I will happilly listen to commercial radio, I think Pete Tong is a better DJ than Chris Moyles and I think Russel Brand is funny.
God, what next I wonder.

Internet cool doesn't exist unless it's ironic.

Also for the record I think Russell Brand can be pretty amusing, although I don't know if I'd be able to put up with more than an hour of his comedy. I haven't ever seen his standup, just the BBLB stuff really.

Re: FAO: tomkat
Big Brother would be out of my life if it weren't for televisions in pubs. The only real problem it gives me is that some people I like seem to like it and/or have some unfortunate interest in it. This is a problem because I'm a judgmental elitist often unable to accept people like things I do not.
re dante's blog entry.
hmm. I wouldn't say anything is above satire. Your point that it's to make everyone else realise still applies, surely, to religious fundamentalists, fascists and celebrities? I'd say it could be damaging in the wrong situation though, where the normally hasty reaction from the targeted group outweighs the normally slow edification of the others.
