Speedgame Special Edition
First off. Thanks to all that played. I know for most it was very fun!
The no defence idea was great it really did keep down the scores. Spinner and many other people from Pateam jumped into the fun. When I realised I wasn’t going to get anywhere I began covert opping, I know many of you were getting pretty annoyed.
This has to be the quote of the game:
<Spinner> 2:1 go away
<Spinner> THESE AREN'T THE ROIDS YOU'RE LOOKING FOR
Congratulations to the winner Tearz. It seemed a very close finish!
Final rankings can be found here .Many thanks Envy.
How did everyone else find the round? Any ideas next time?

Re: Speedgame Special Edition
Well all I can say is that was great fun. It was my first PA speedround and I'm sure i'll be back for the next.
Thanks to Jonas for making it so close at the end, with even 5 ticks to go it could have gone 3 ways - thats how we like it

Re: Speedgame Special Edition
excellent speedgame, 1 of the best ive had, playing the majority of them. The fact that 2:1 and 14:1 napped kinda ended the game more quickly that it cud of been, most players might of stuck around for the whole 24hrs if this didnt happen, but the nap finally broke, 14:1 were crushed and we were all hittin 2:1 hard to some great effect till we found out we cudnt be bothered and jus went to bed .
Thanks to 31:2 for lettin me in there gal.
Thanks to the Pa-Crew for another excellent speedgame, i believe this 1 has encouraged players to play another 1

Re: Speedgame Special Edition
Well.Tbh, when having a round with no def, there should not be any XP. For me, as a Terran it went only in DE fleet, attacking Ziks and Cath(and Ter/Xan when they needed a setback)
Kept my value low, and just kept attacking people 3 times bigger than me. Roids dissapeared faster than they came, but score kept increasing. I would easily have become #1 if it hadnt gone booring, hence I went to bed. Was all the same in the end there. Came back bout an hour before ticks ended(had slept bout 6 hours then) Built up a fleet and started where I ended. Almost got #1 there, ended #2 tho, luckily. Tearz had a whole other value, and deserved the win more(Maybe even Green was the one deserving it the most )but he did a smart move 10 minutes to early.
The round was fun, when it didnt stagnate. Tho my suggestion will be that XP is removed from further speedrounds like this, so that fleetcatching and smart combos can have a much bigger say. Thankyou everyone tho, for a nice fight GJ Tearz, you came fast there in the end, when having a value allowing you to collect XP

Re: Speedgame Special Edition
I had to watch this speedgame from the sideline unfortunatelly (thanks to my boss letting me work all weekend). From checking the stats (and tearz keeping me posted) a couple of times I did get a good view of how things were developing however. Looked like fun what happened with 14:1 and the exile-and-hit action from Green at the end even made looking at stats fun. I'll sure try being in the next speedgame!
Now all that's left is to congrat Tearz and of course the other people from 2:1 as well once more

Re: Speedgame Special Edition
grr jerome` you made me spend all my resources near the end to make some drakes to try to stop your mass CR
My face would have been a picture when Green exiled himself from the gal in order to hit me late in the game.. Incredibly smart move, just performed 10 ticks too early, giving us a chance to hit back.

Re: Speedgame Special Edition
Would have been a bit lame if I won tho. Roiding all the players in the top gals without being fleetcatched once. Tho thats cause I was in your shared chan, and knew when you wanted to catch me :P
Was fun. Im gonna post a suggestion regarding speedrounds now.

Done,
and yeah, that was one reason why I didn't want to play as R6B. I hoped this round would get his own winning team, with other teams competing, so we can take on them for the next round!
To bad not to many played, but hope we can create a bigger interest for the next speedround!

Re: Speedgame Special Edition
biffy, first rule of speedgame is sleep around 24 hours before, take with you enough redbull/coffe/coke for the next 24 hours, and never go for a NAP unless you got 5 clocks and 1 human to wake you up.

Re: Speedgame Special Edition
Was a good game indeed... Cov op's had me amused greatly for a good while. With a little 1.1 team play we were rocking at setting back the research by several ticks and Spinner was godlike with his killing ships antics.
Over all I think it was an excellent idea to remove the defence and it seems many enjoyed that feature.

Re: Speedgame Special Edition
I must say I enjoyed it tremendously myself. Having dealt as much as I have with Planetarion over the years, I am once again surprised how much I enjoyed it, and how much fun it was
And surely my 3rd place on the covert-ops highscore list means I must have pissed a few planets off :-P
Anyways, thanks for the fun!

Re: Speedgame Special Edition
It was highly enjoyable
My first speedround, but I will return for the next one to help defend our title...
Too bad I was a bit bored and went to sleep 6hrs before the end though, when the action picked up again towards the end (lo green and Tearz )
Untill next time.....
