Best thing ever for Slackware, Debian or Redhat.
Checkinstall replaces 'make install' when compiling from source, and creates an entry in your package management system. That way you can cleanly uninstall it.

Nice. Guess i'll have to try it out. Could have needed something like that, when i tried to install VLC awhile ago
