every time my mind is idle, even for a second. Go problems pop into my head, it happens in bed, at the pub, at clubs. Whether im drunk or stoned or anything else, it still happens. There doesnt seem to be any way to control it.

its not always particularly pleasant, and is getting in the way of my everyday life. It stopped when i stopped playing for a while, but now its back with a vengeance.

anyone else having similar problems with anything? Or any ways to stop it?

P.S it used to happen when i played chess a lot as well

As a bedroom DJ (The sort that take one tune and mix it together with another) every piece of new music I hear causes this problem.

I sort of start to think how I could have made the bassline work better, where a beat could be changed.

My head makes up one long mix of tunes and it is beginning to drown out everything else, including the magic pixies who tell me to burn stuff.

well thats surely good.

my magic pixies just told me to have fun though, and they seem to be getting drowned out now. i was in a club pilled off my tits the other night and i was thinking about go while dancing, it was off putting i tell ya.

though i suppose the mental acrobatics involved are probably helping to offset the killing of my braincells.

Maybe, just maybe, if you stopped smoking weed (man) and popping pills, it's not outside the realm of possibiliity that your brain might not be obsessing itself on a single subject.

Just a thought...

I had something like this too, and its starting to come back now I'm playing again. I wouldnt say it was taking over my mind or anything like that though, just that I'd often visualise josekis/patterns/problems when I was daydreaming.

On the plus side, I think youre going to get a better feeling for shape a lot faster than someone who didnt visualise it so much

Lol, got the same problem recently. Found my old gameboy (original oldschool, rocks \o/), inserted Tetris... Wuuuh, in the evening, I almost dreamt of it. Won a couple of times (level 9 high 5 stuff), now I'm done with it again.

As for general life: Happens about programming problems / algorithms / wannabe game design.
But I think I can control it. It's more a "nice thing" not to be bored while waiting for the bus etc..

I had similar problems when i played to much Alundra or other games with lots of puzzles in it. Usually i have only had the problem when trying to sleep, but trying to sleep while puzzles you can't solve pop's up in your head when you close your eyes ain't much fun.

I've only found 3 solutions to the problem. 1 is to avoid playing to much, or atleast to much on the same game. 2 is to play games without puzzles and varied gameplay. 3 is continuing playing the games, and just live with it (that's the solution i prefer).

But it's usually don't happen when i'm at a pub or club, that only happened a few times after reading to much in books, and made me feel schizophren. So atleast i'm happy that when it comes to games, it only happens when i try to sleep
