bcalc & stats on portal/ingame
The topic actually says it all really.
I believe that (especially for newer players) there should be a statspage (think of this like sandmans but with some less options maybe) and a bcalc integrated in the portal or ingame.
Alot of newer players don't know that these wonderfull tools exist and it might help them learn how to play.

I know alot of you are probably thinking why the hell do we need that, we know the tools exist, but alot of newer people probably don't...

That also works, but then again I fail to understand why a game like pa should rely on external tools when they could just put it on the portal...
Would add some much needed content too

I've always been a little concerned over the dependence of external tools. One day Sandman or Thrud might not update their tools and it'll annoy part of the playerbase. Yes there are alternatives, however if you're so used to a particular site and nothing else comes close for ease of use then you feel the loss. To be fair, nothing even comes close to Sandmans.

Every time PA Team tends to pick up an idea to try and take it as part of the game it tends to end up so poor and awful that nobody wants to use it. Ingame alliance tools, so basic it hurts. Previous portals with search tools with poor usability.

I did suggest a Javascript powered bcalc, which would've been ideal for Planetarion to host as it doesn't use server resources to calculate the battle.

I think it's a great idea. Planetarion needs players and people who sign up for free accounts and get slaughtered don't usually come back and this is not a productive method for ensuring planetarions future. Without some sucess there is no fun and without fun most players will simply leave.

I think it would be a useful idea, the javabcalc that GReaper mentioned would be perfeck.

But what makes you think PA team have enough time to do some coding for the game? :s

Ave, it'd save wasting useless bandwidth. Maybe they'd reduce the cost of a credit to £4.97 instead of the full £5. Who knows.
