Another thing to do is to link the capacity to store resources to the number of roids a planet has.
1 roid can store XXXX resource, all the resource that can't be stored are lost. This way cov oppers will need to init more roids if they want to be able to keep the resources they steal (could also work with a building, why not the Finance centers...)

This is just horrific. FIrst even if they have 100 roids they're not going to be worth hitting. Second they can store resources in the gal fund if needed. Third if you do it by roids you're going to cripple large planets if they get roided, forcing them to spend so they don't lose their res. Fourth if you do it by buildings you're forcing large planets to need more buildings (a lot more than a cov-ops planet will need) in order to keep their res.

-If- it was, yes. Perhaps it should be. Maybe the level of stealth should be bound to level of constructions like the level of alertness is bound to level of security centers. That's definately worth a suggestions thread. Even so, you'd basically require cov ops of your own to hit back the cov oppers, though, as they're tiny and likely beyond your bash limit.

Yeah. You wouldn't really need more than 2 security centers and 2 financial centers and maybe an amp and a factory or two, so probably 1 structure. If it was percentage-bound. If it was amount-bound, it'd just probably be - stupid.

First he clearly means the second of his options, as has been stated before a lot of the top covert-oppers aren't ascendancy planets. Second he was referring to use of covert-ops being 'that damn good' not any sort of daft general set of pa playing skills. Third everything in PA involves spending a lot of time online, that's the nature of the game at the minute. Fourth "supposed to" and "intended" are the cries of the narrow minded. When pa was started off the creators didn't expect alliances to become so important. Were the first people who created alliances and used them to their advantage ruining the game?

To make cov-op planets still useful, I propose population settings being added to news scans. Since news scans don't show changes from the last 3 ticks, there is still an uncertainty factor, but it is more predictable if a cov-op would get through.

As it is now, a cov-opper's target (minimum) alert level can be anything from 70 to 154 even if the surface scan shows no sec centers.

This game is not being ruined by lousy stats, sloppy admins, or incompetent creators, the no.1 cause of ruin in this game is moaning ninnies.

Of course, I am pretty cheesed off with the creators decision to enable everyone to put 100% population on security guards, it totally ruins the round for anyone that was intelligent and astute enough to see the potential of covert ops this round and has pretty much also screwed over anyone that was wise enough to build a few sec centers.

Sadly, though I cannot actually support the creators actions, when I read the nonsense in the first post in this thread, and those of the other whiners, I can at least understand it.

Before this round started, this problem was staring people in the face.

Nothing was done to compensate or make a correction.

I happen to believe that instead of constantly closing the scope of the game, which seems to be the direction PA keeps taking, I made the suggestion before the round started. And it was a very simple suggestion.

When people got their structures hit by structure killers, they should in the research and constriction trees get an added option of hardened buildings or constructions, which cost more, but are armoured. This could be a research tree that offers layers of hardening too.

If I extend the suggestion now so that it comes on line if you get hit by structure killers OR cov-ops, then it would allow the player to answer this attack on them.

And to me, thats what war is all about. So long as people can counter an activity of the enemy, then all is fair in love n war.

Now, I prefer PA goes that route, and does not simply weaken Cov-opps.
