Re: GD World Cup Fantasy Football
For those not in the know, you're allowed to make unlimited transfers for the knock-out stages, and to have 4 players from each team in your squad of 13.
I've made quite a lot of changes to my team. Since you can see it anyway, this is what it looks like now:
http://img470.imageshack.us/img470/7223/newteam1uv.jpg
Van Der Sar; Pernia, Terry, Ooijer, Puyol; Pirlo, Rodriguez (captain), Riquelme, Schweinsteiger; Torres, Saviola, Gilardino (sub)

Re: GD World Cup Fantasy Football
thanks for the tip
I noticed the unlimited transfers but not that you could add 4 of any team.
My new team: Robinson, Terry, A Cole, Carragher, Sorin, Schweinsteiger, Schneider, Rodriguez, riquelme, ronaldo (captain), klose, Gyan (sub)

Re: GD World Cup Fantasy Football
What a tit.
I forgot to put Crespo on instead of leaving him as a sub and I could have made him my captain. Then I'd have loads of points because I also have Rodriguez.

Re: GD World Cup Fantasy Football
i have actually got a decent amount of points this game round having real trouble selecting a team for next round though as all the people who are left are more and more expensive as the worse teams get knocked out :/

Re: GD World Cup Fantasy Football
well the advantage is by now you know wich cheap players are in the first 11 and able to get the points. And you can just select players looking at the opponents and hope for a goal-fest.

I'm up for doing the Metro premiership one if anyone fancies joining me. PB are using the FA Premier League FF - and I can't stand its interface.

The prem one has got rid of actim it seems, if that was annoying you :/
And how can you hate it's interface, when it's exactly the same as the Metro one

there is nothing 'cheap' in the prem FFL, you've got to really scrap for bargains.
my tip is simply don't get henry if you want a good team

Re: GD World Cup Fantasy Football
Scott Parker is defensive and has never hit the form he had at charlton for scoring goals, getting assists and being at Newcastle is unlikely to get the clean sheet point. I did consider him but I thought £6M was too much for a player of his type.
Beattie is a scummer and thus ineligible for me team but is a 'decent' buy if you swing that way. I think there is a better bargain to skank out than Beattie for £8M. Although I'm sure there is going to be plenty with Everton in their ranks for the first week.
Yet again the no scummers, no one playing portsmouth rule will be applied as much as I can do so.

Jenas will get me goals, and hopefully get involved in the set piece action, although with Bolton first up, i'm unsure if he will feature in week one.
