3 years... almost three years...
Who would have thought that... I was introduced to this game almost THREE years ago, the year 2000, and I'm still here, as an active member of the community. I came to GD a few months after I joined PA.
Isn't that weird, that a virtual community, clique even, can last that long? That people still come here on a daily basis after three years? And that some people have known eachother for three years?
And that there is so little hatred between the people in the community. Ofcourse people spill their sarcasm sometimes, but there aren't real tensions.
You know... when Matrim said he wouldn't mind scrolling down GD ten years from now, I hoped it would actually come that far.
I LOVE YOU GUYS!!! GIVE ME A HUG!!!!

See... that's what I mean... Ragnarak even remembers that I had two spelling errors in my name for about two years.
I bet no one on SA would have ever noticed/mentioned that.

I've been here for nearly 3 years as well. It's like a home away from home, only is it actually in my home as I'm sitting here. I don't want this place to go either :/

and it improved thanks to you people =(

this is so fight club like.... but i prefer this quote
Quote:
Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering
God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy sh1t we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.

replace "fight club" with GD

must have been a little more than 2 years for me. i joined in the middle of the last round that was for free (i think round 4?) i never especially like the game itself (maybe it was because i just sucked at it ), but i always liked these forums.
back then there were so many people, you be discussing in a thread a whole afternoon and get 2-3 replys in the time you reply to something. that was nice. But now, its still nice here (thats why i keep beeing here), but there are far too few people.
when was the last time someone really new came here? i mean REALLY new, not some poor gimmick account ?
as much as id like to be scrolling this forum in ten years, i doubt there will be much left by then

You bunch of old sentimental farts!!
Served my time, did a little bit here and there with happy & sad times. But if I was asked "would you do it all over again?" the answer would have to be a resounding "YES! - But without the mistakes!"
Online Communities - does exactly what it says on the tin. Game aside this was a HUGE community and many still strive to keep it.

I started PA in December 2000 and got a forum account I never used more than a few times on PD. It took me another year and a half to get an account I used regularly here (banned ofc).

December 2000 I started playing planetarion and reading these forums
And I was actually thinking about this a month or so ago, all internet forums pale in compare to GD, would be crap if it'd go.

I started PA about a month after it's inception.
I can still remember my round 1 coordinates. (6:1:6)
I got the Mirai Trunks board account shortly after the vB boards came into existance (and promptly never used it), but I had posted a few threads on the old boards.
I got this account about a year later after the #lounge crew yelled at me enough for not having an account.
Sigh. Good times. Good times.
