Re: Msn
umm.
If Norton can't see it then use adaware, spybot search and destroy, microsoft anti-spyware etc etc to see what they can do.
How do you know it's a virus and what has it done?

Re: Msn
I think he means he got the virus through MSN. Otherwise the topic is offtopic.

Re: Msn
Oops. I have habit of opening up a bunch of topics at once, and going through them one by one, forgetting to look at the title, presuming the thread is self-descriptive.
At any rate slick, just delete the .pif file - I presume you did have the presence of mind not to try and running it.

Re: Msn
probably queball.
it sounds like the msn worm which is going about
i suggest you go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and run the housecall thing ( works on IE only, blooming activex things )
alternatively get updated virus definitions file and you should be able to get it with norton

Re: Msn
sounds like you did run it then :/ . ctrl-alt-del and kill its process. then run a virus scan from a fully updated antivirus software package
the worm youve (probably) got is :

Re: Msn
You'd better delete your autoexec.bat and config.sys files quickly, otherwise it'll infect the rest of your computer.
