german and english. i took some french in school, but i never had to use it in a real life situation, so i forgot everything about it. what a giant waste of time

There's no motivation to speak other languages if your British, as the world seems to be learning your language.

I can speak French and am learning German.

I'm taking European politics though, so i'm probably an exception.

French (I live in an island closer to France than England, so I need to be pretty good in it)
Spanish - I wouldn't say I'm fluent, but I'm pretty competent in it.

edit: and I find stating something like "I don't have to learn another language because everybody speaks English anyway" pretty retarded, sorry.

Spanish

However must admit that of late my tongue turns to mud when trying to speak german out-of-the-blue. I forgot most of the rules (what was it again, bei vor mit nach aus von zu, can´t recall) and so I start to stutter. After 10 minutes I´m all fine again.

Urdu, Kurdish, Turkish, Persian, etc are variations of Arabic. It's not Arabic but it's 'related'.
