FAO London People
Help me out ! I have two job interviews tomorrow. The first is near Bond Street Tube starting at 11:30 and finishing at 12:30, the second is near Barbican Tube starting at 4:15. I'm currently living in Croydon so it's a 25 minute commute to Central London and going there and back after the first interview will be a waste of time.
What I need is somewhere quiet where I can go and sit down and read through all my notes for the 4:15 interview, somewhere like a library. Does anyone have any recommendations of libraries in that sort of area ? obviously I don't want to go through any long joining process, just walk in, sit down and read through all my notes. I know Google would be a good bet but I was wondering if anyone had any personal recommendations.

Re: FAO London People
You can sit down in the British library and read.
There's the library in the British Museum as well.

Re: FAO London People
Barbican Tube?
As in Barbican Tube 2 stops from Kings Cross/St. Pancras?
As in Kings Cross/St.Pancras which has the British Library pretty much right outside?
Oh Christopher

(edit: the IET's library is within the building. It's very nice.)

Re: FAO London People
So I can literally just walk into the British Library and sit down, I don't need to register or give ID or anything ? Awesome The one in the British Museum is pretty noisy as people come in and take photos all the time.
Cheers lads.

Is Hicks American?
Is he actually a girl?
Is he some kind of spastic?
If not, why is he using the word 'awesome'?

The word awesome was reclaimed by the righteous some time ago. Try to keep up.

There's nothing awesome about awesome when it's pronounced
"ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhsum'
and used to describe a cup of coffee...
...with each mouthful.
Stupid Yanks.

Re: FAO London People
Awesome is an Internet word, only to be used on the Internet.

So anyway I get to the British Library and go into one of the reading rooms to sit down and read. I get stopped at the door by someone who works there. I get told to register. I go to register but need my drivers license (which I have) and a utility bill to confirm my address (which I don't have). On top of this apparently you aren't actually supposed to go to the British Library to read, you're only supposed to go there to use their collections.
Oh Thomas
As luck would have it when I was on my way back to the station I noticed that there's a little library (St Pancras) opposite the station, which is full of smelly tramps and old people who also smell. It did the job for reading over all my notes for a couple of hours though so I was happy

one has to wonder what the person telling you this imagined that you ought to do to their 'collections'.
because i doubt that burning them or using them as a masterbation aid would go un-frowned upon

Re: FAO London People
Definitely try to book it earlier if you know exactly what time you want to leave, if you go to the station and buy it you'll have to give them a kidney,
