Munin feature request thread
Hello Planetarion players!
Munin is an open source (GPL) IRC bot for Planetarion alliances. It was originally built for Ascendancy, but has been used by many more alliances. The code is available here.
I don't work much on Munin anymore, but between rounds I generally post a thread on the Ascendancy site asking for feature requests. Usually people come up with an idea or two worth doing and I oblige them if/when I have time. Fortunately Munin has other contributors, so development stays active throughout the round.
Since several alliances used Munin this round, I thought maybe people outside Ascendancy would have some good feature requests. For that reason, I'm making this thread here on the Planetarion forums rather than on the Asc private site.
So if you've used Munin and have a feature request, please post it here! The only rule is that I only accept one feature request per person. You have to answer this question:
"If you could add just one thing to Munin, what would it be?"

reveals the names of online users who are phone allowed in munin so you can sms people if you happen to be barred from sms'ing them.

Online users is difficult/impossible, but I could do something like a reverse lookup for !phone list. So I could !phone list lokken to see who can sms/phone you.

An expansion of the afford command would be great , if you include the relevant factory in your query !afford 1:1:1 peg 5 , with 5 being their med factory , so the reply would include how long it takes for your target to build the max amount they can afford with their factory's

Unfortunately due to the way the prod system works it's virtually impossible to tell when someone is prodding without having planet scanned them every tick for the preceding 10 ticks or so.

It doesn't really with the new prod system. Certainly not to any larger extent than just planet scanning them once.

It is very hard (if not impossible) to distinguish between a finishing construction and a starting production plus some scans, for example, without tick-to-tick planet scans.

Afford was never designed to tell when someone is prodding, it used the most recent planet scan to calculate the maximum of a certain ship the planet could build and already has in production.

Edit: Oops, I got confused between afford and prod. Prod does what you're thinking of (see jester's post below), but is currently inaccurate, and needs fixing. I had started trying to fix it during the round, got some code lying around so I might give it another shot. There are too many variables at the moment to make the command work similarly to before though, so don't hold your breath!
