Closing an account because of gal pic - too extreme?

Why not have a feature on sign up then which takes the person age in and if its under 18 not display gal banners. Or have an option which says Jolt / PA arnt responsible for gal banners etc

Appocomaster seems to share the views of large parts of the community though, while biffy seems to live in JoltWorld. A closure is too much, a warning and censoring the picture would be more than sufficient.

I remember when we collected proof for login sharing for days and weeks years ago.. As far as I remember we never had much luck, even if it was quite clear.
Terminating the Game for dedicated players simply was a last, harsh action to take. Even if login sharing actually has Impact on the game, and is a Disadvantage for others.

Now people who probably never had a planet click on a button with hardly any reason (mainly not on the Game itself), cry kiddie porn and call themselves community managers, of what ever community.

You'll be surprised in how many democratic countries manipulated pics showing certain content (for example nude-fakes of celebrities) are considered illegal.

Also, about anyone calling this dictatorship ... lol. YOU signed up agreeing to the rules of this game, so it does pretty much remove any reason to complain about enforcing of the rules.

A manipulated picture is basicly a image which has had its original message altered to give it another 'meaning' to those who view it.

Although altering a picture might not be illegal for your own amusement, the content of the picture will still abide by the rules of the given forum it is posted in. Be it a New York gallery or a online game.

first off, i agree that people posting pics like that should be closed

but now the fun part
some time ago i was PAteam and in that position i ones closed a porn banner
the rest of PAteam dragged my ass into the private channel and i got a ear full

seems there are rules set up for handling closures for unwanted galpics

basicly this is how its supposed to work
the offender gets 3 warnings THEN on the 4th offence they get closed

so biffy, here is my question, how many warnings did you issue
and if none, would you please reopen this valuable part of the playerbase!! (its not very big so chasing them away might be bad !)

To Xontas and Smudge: The question is irrelevant in the end, since it is purely up to the game's administration on how to enforce things.

In a court trial for thievery some people get away with a slap on the wrist, others get arrested directly. That is purely based upon the behaviour of the people which broke the law, as that is used to indicate if they'll do it again or not and if they realize what they did wrong or not.

I am not going to judge about this case, as it is the game administration that has to judge it, but in the end it won't change anything.

Just cause somewhere else idiotic and arbi-xxx- decisions are made, doesn't mean we should try to make sure that they are also made everywhere else as often as possible

I was merely simplifying my point so that 75% of the people which replied on this thread might understand it as well. In the end there are several points considered, of which behaviour and confessments/disputes are two definate ones, combined with the severity of the deed and the possible punishments applicable by the law.

I do agree with you that "just cause somewhere else idiotic and arbi-xxx-decisions are made" we shouldn't copy them - however, you may find PA isn't copying those either.

The main points remain the same, though:

- If one does not break the rules in the first place, there is no need for punishment
- If one does break the rules he has to face the consequences set by the judges, whatever it may be

Closing or deleting an account is mentioned as a possible punishment for breaking a rule.

I'm closing this because it is becoming a flame thread. At the end of the day the picture was completely out of order and fully merited closing the account. Whether it was anything more sinister is up to local authorities to decide. As I've said elsewhere, Wishmaster is welcome to return in a future round provided he obeys the rules. Thankfully something constructive - the issue of how to regulate gal pics better - has come out of this and we'll be reviewing that for future rounds.
