it smells great and is the best choice out of wax and gel.
In Birmingham I go for two types of haircuts. Theres the one ive been having since like 5 where I pay a fiver at a local barbers for a short, back and sides. If im feeling flush or rather if I find out my mum is shopping ill convince her to book me in at this authentic italian hairdressers in house of fraser. Where its a shampoo and cut for about £20. Whilst its expensive it looks great and I feel great.
Down south I am yet to find a haircut cheaper than a tenner, theres very few barbers and mainly poncy haircutting places.

Re: GD, a hair problem
Well in my local town theres like 8 Hairdressers. It's crazy as its only a small town. The lowest price for an adult male haircut is about £4.50 the highest about £15. With £6 as an average. Im always happy with how it looks anyway so £5 seems a bargain to me.
I think its you Northerners who are being ripped off.

I normally dye my hair. You can sort of see gingery bits where the light hits in that that picture I posted since my roots were growing through.

Yeah, I've got that where I live. I prefer going to a hairdressers. You get a better hair cut, a nice hair was and a better view than going to a barbers. And as long as I don't have to pay I couldn't care less how much it costs

I don't quite understand the point of northeners waxing lyrical about the price of hair cuts in the south.
you don't live there so it's unlikely you've completed an exhaustive survey.

I have done. The midlands is also south as far as i'm concerned and i've spent 5 years there.
Why anyone would pay £11 to get their head shaved is beyond me.

Re: GD, a hair problem
For all you people paying ~£5 for a hair cut answer the question - "does an electric razor come near your head"*?
If the answer is yes, you probably have a shit hair cut.
I admit this test has its flaws, e.g. if you're going for a very short hair cut - like TK.
* as in one with a detachable blade such as "a number one", not one used for trimming sideburns etc.

Getting my hair cut costs approximately £4 per year (£6 per haircut, every 18 months or so).

I believe the midlands is called the "midlands" its not the south nor the north, rather like a mixed race baby, the best of both worlds. We are our own territory actually. But for sake of argument BBC counts Birmingham upwards as the north, with pretty much cov being the border for the south.

Re: GD, a hair problem
I can't believe anyone would WANT to shave their head.
I bought an electric trimmer/razor yesterday and now am down to a skinhead. It feels very strange when I rub my hand over my head (which I keep doing ). It looks rubbish though, and I never thought I had this many DENTS in my head - I always thought I was a perfect human specimen, with a perfectly smooth head

I'm pretty sure if I ever shave my head that it'll look freakishly bulbous, pitted and scared and will cause people to immediately assume I'm some sort of mental-patient-criminal-rapist-child-eater-puppy-kicker.
On some people it looks good though. Usually people like Laurence Fishburn.

I like my shaved head, it's easy like 10 minutes work, it's cheap, it prevents the horror of listening to hairdressers talking about the weather and asking me if I go on vacation this year and sorry to say but I think it looks good to me.
The rubbing is something that gets old eventually

Re: GD, a hair problem
look
why can't we be honest?
This is not about the price of haircuts. We all know that we can spend £50 in Durham and £5 in London and vice versa.
This is some shit 'north v south' point.
Well. **** the South. **** the North. **** East Anglia and **** Cornwall
There is only London.

Actually when I got my head shaved from it's longish length down to a #2, the guy started trying to talk to me. I told him I was getting it shaved ready for when it started coming out, as I'd just been diagnosed with cancer and was going to start chemo. He didn't try to strike up any more conversations

Re: GD, a hair problem
Hhhm, I actually can't remember the last time I paid to have my hair cut.
I've been cutting it myself for the last 7 years (roughly), never anything fancy, either shaved all over, shoulder length, or some variation on a mohawk. For the moment though I am in the shaved category, for the simple reason that I am receding quite badly and have a very pronounced (rounded) widows peak where my hairline is normal at the front but recedes level with my ears to each side...
Damn those hair products I used to use.

My head looks like Fabien Barthez of France if I did it skin head like.
