The Grand National
Runners and Riders
So who are you going for?
I'm in for Colnel Rayburn at 16-1. With rain forecast over the UK hopefully it might be soft for him.

Re: The Grand National
I have no idea, I generally just pick a random horse who has a decent name and looks like they haven't done too shit in recent races.

Re: The Grand National
Reccommendations from a guy at work who seems to have a bit of a clue:
1st - colnel rayburn (so thats looking good)
2nd - it takes time
3rd - fondmort
And for a reserve - spot the difference
He is now teeling me about how many times hes got it right. He has done a lot of work in that business before, so he does know his stuff. If anyone wins lots based in this info I expect a cut.

Re: The Grand National
I was tempted by him and asked what Paddy thought. He said the horse is a bit young, but its a good jockey and a good weight, and he is good on soft.
This meant next to nothing to me.

Re: The Grand National
Apparently he isnt used to running as far as the Grand National but he is a good jumper, which he'll need to be to get round and seeing as it should be wet the ground will be good for him.
I'm probably talking rubbish just to justify picking someone based on their similarity to our favourite poster .

I've stuck down ?20 each way on Colnel Rayburn, i'm completely in the dark with regards to this horse racing lark, so i'm basing my decision purely on what you and Rids said.
Am i doomed?

Re: The Grand National
I wouldn't have placed your bet today, to be honest, I'd wait for as late as possible so you can get info on the going/whether there have been any late pull outs.

Ahh well, Nil Desperandum didn't manage to win me anything :/ Father is gutted though as he bet on Royal Auclair to win as I did on mine when he was originally intending e/w.

This is good. I shall provide John Smiths or something when I get to Tesco soon.
I shall also provide entertainment in the form of your 'mocking altar'.
Although I must be on my best behaviour.
