Confused about salvage

I'm a bit confused about what happened in this attack

I'm defending someone with the 1500 chims and yet only get the salvage shown even though the cost of the chims I lost is "The ships will cost 423000 Metal, 291400 Crystal, 291400 Eonium." and we killed ... ships. Please can someone explain why I didn't get more salvage?
