Woohoo... I graduated!
Yes, this is an attentionwhore thread.
I just held my final presentation at my internship company, and received my grade for the entire internship period. An 8 out of 10, which equals to "very good".
Now it's just waiting from word of the committee at school and the reception of that fancy little paper at the 9th of Juli, and I can call myself "engineer Johan Janssen"®.
I'm glad it's over...

Re: Woohoo... I graduated!
Congratulations.
Although what the hell the newspaper editor from Spiderman is doing studying engineer is beyond me.
Also, are you really going to go round calling yourself an engineer? My house mate's business cards say that. It's so much better than mine (if I had them) which would simply say "waste of money/space"

Re: Woohoo... I graduated!
Well, I'm officially an engineer then... or a bachelor as they seem to call it too... but engineer sounds cooler. And for business cards... well... they sure make you cool no?
But I seem to miss the Spiderman newspaper editor context... isn't that guy called Jonathan?

I noticed you've managed to get the passive voice down to perfection however.

Re: Woohoo... I graduated!
Congrats.
I just got a notification from my university that if we wish, the entire 4th year graduating class can graduate with a Bachelor of Science instead of a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology and Telecommunications.
So its a BSc instead of a BTech, apparently numerous international workplaces assume that a BTech is a BTEC...some UK shitty qualification.
Anyway, I'd prefer the BSc as that means I have the advantage of going for more science-ended jobs and further study instead of the BTech which most ppl have never heard of.
Everyone seems to want this as we've been bugging them about it since the degree we've done was reclassified to a BSc for all new entrants last year. HOWEVER, I noticed something that may scupper this.
On the end of the notification form it says "All graduating students must agree to the change for it to be consideres"
I bet there'll be ONE little ****er who wont want to get a BSc for some stupid reason.
Though no matter what I'll end up being a member of the Irish Institute of Engineers and be technically called an engineer :P
So I'll have a science degree in I.T. and be an engineer. Sounds odd.

Re: Woohoo... I graduated!
I graduated with a BSc in Psychology 2 years ago. We could choose to graduate with either a Bachelor of Arts with honours or a Bachelor of science with honours. Would some employers really care which?

BSc degrees tend to have more maths. BA's more theory orientated.
Some employers do seem to care

you could get neat jobs, the problem is that in this field either you make lots of money or none at all..... much like being an international law trade consultant or some shit like that

Re: Woohoo... I graduated!
Half of those I applied for were Bsc, half Ba, all were straight economics.
Its artsy and its sciency.
