Batman Begins
Great movie. I loved this. They really undid all that junky kitsch of Batman & Robin and made a great flick. Ninja's and stuff, and Batman is actually scary. The action sequences kind of leave you with a headache. Liam Neelson always rocks. I give it

how about "Batman gets arthritis and retires". I'd go and see that. Or "Batman and all his comic book friends make one last film then finally go away".

Re: Batman Begins
I'm hoping it's as good as you say. The only thing that's irritating me to buggery at the moment is the fact that the car in Batman Begins is more modern & high-tech than the one in previous films. Some continuity would have been nice.

Yeah the story line doesn't jive either. The Tim Burton one from 1989 and this are both 'first appearances' of the Batman and the origin story is a bit different too.

maybe its the fact movies are starting to become more modern, so the new car had to live upto the hype. If u brought the other batman movies upto scratch in todays date maybe the car would be better. If u get what i mean

Re: Batman Begins
I wasn't that impressed. There was nothing that wrong with the movie (aside from some of the attempted humour) as such, it just screamed formula in a lot of places. For all the talk of how "dark" it was going to be, it seemed very generic-Hollywood.
I'd rank a lot of the animated Batman TV stuff above this.

The adverts look crap but the critics seem to like it. Maybe I'll download it when it comes out on DVD.

Should they announce the production of Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns then I'm sure you'll be first in the queue.

Continuity with a pair of Joel Schumacker movies is not something to be desired.

This would probably be because Burton hadn't actually read any Batman and was mucking around with the story as he pleased.

Actually had a really long conversation with colleagues about this one. We did struggle to understand how any network in the US had actually come up with this one, since the humour in it isnt backed by an all singing, all dancing, all clapping studio audience, doesnt deal with people of different races as stereotypes, and the subject matter, to all intents and purposes, not really funny to anyone who doesnt have a particularly dark sense of humour.
To describe it as a sitcom really doesnt do it justice. Its a bad attempt to pidgeonhole a show because it doesnt really fit into a specific category.

In the context of Comic Book adaptations, Sin City was suitably dark.
And as for US Productions in general, something like Oz (the TV series) shows that you can make something a bit harsh / brutal in the US.
It's just that many studios these days seem to be editing their films to shit to get a lower certification (I understand this affected Alien vs Predator).

Re: Batman Begins
Right, tonight i made my sister go and see it with me so i wouldn't be the sad guy on his own watching a comic book movie like the guy sitting a couple rows down and to the right of me was.
I thought it was very good (certainly the best comic book movie that i can remember seeing).
The logic continuity thing throughout the film was mostly there too (which is always a bonus)
Anyways ... i was glad i saw it.

Re: Batman Begins
On a serious note Dante ...
There are very few things i could be bothered going to on my own.
Infact the only time i've ever done it was when i went to see The Mars Volta (the greatest band in the world etc) when the person i was supposed to go with cancelled on me (on the day with his ticket being quite a distance away) and there were no tickets left and there was just NO ****IN WAY i wasn't going to see them.
So ... i'm not "afraid" of going to things on my own.
It's just i don't think it's cool to do so.

there isn't supposed to be any continuity because they are restarting the franchise. you should be able to see this since Wayne's parents weren't murdered by Jack Napier, and of course the evidence that Batman got at the end regarding a certain criminal.
