AD Arguments
This area of the forums has been incredibly dull compared to rounds past.
The only alliance worth talking about, it seems, is 1up, as at least they post.
What has happened to all the charismatic and not-so-charismatic leaders, and the peons who chant for their alliances passionately (or should that be moronically)?
I mean who runs these top 5 alliances? Are they just MOs who rose to HC position because the HCs got tired of the game, and so have no language skills whatsoever to use on the boards?
Anyone can stay up all night playing with battlecalcs and asking for escorts (hi EXilition!!), but the people who are remembered are those who defended themselves valiantly on the boards also.
Humour me, at least. Politically, this round has been dull as hell - let's inject some fun into the boards.
Who are the leaders of these alliances? I know 1up's, as they're super! Are the rest of you just jpaweb01 based, or have you worked out how to navigate to good old pirate.planetarion.com ?

Re: AD Arguments
I think we should bring back the "useless boardspammer" alliance just so someone can shove that quote right up the arse of the person who said it.

FAnG?
But seriously though. I am curious to find out where all these other HCs are hiding, and why they aren't all throwing baseless accusations at each other. Since when was the PA community mature and sensible?

Do I have to introduce myself? ...
As you might have noticed, 1up doesn't start all those threads about them, they just reply to them (in great numbers).

Most have moved on, some play now and again but don't get involved as much anymore, some are ofc still around.
I have to agree, these boards are very dull, long gone are the times of spammers, wh0res and flamers. Shame really. No worries however, i have the eve forums to entertain me

That used to be part of the fun of running an alliance though. You starting prograganda against others, them trying to shoot it done, othere starting propaganda against you and you trying to shoot that down

Re: AD Arguments
The current lack of AD content is simply a reflection of the collapse of any sense of ideological connectedness within the various alliances/blocks. Nowadays the creation and disbandment of alliances is so fluid and widespread that the members of these alliances simply do not have sufficient time to develop strong feelings of collective solidarity. New alliances lack any of the ideological framework that develops over time. if there is nothing to underpin the alliance in this way then it becomes shallow; simply a pact between individuals for support and nothing more.
Now you may wish to overlay a facade of 'community spirit', but this is illusory in that the alliances very existance is for the most part predicated on self interested pragmatism. We see this time and time again when alliances shed members under strain (when the going gets tough, the useless disloyal prats get going).
The more compressed this cycle gets, the less loyalty people are going to feel towards whatever alliance they happen to have managed to join. Ever so slowly the mentality becomes simply Us vs Them, rather than some form of ideological struggle between Good and Evil (Fury being the Good team, and Xan being the evil one in my case).
And now pragmatism has become so entrenched that the political situation has merely become a numbers game (rather ironically); the situation having being played out before in countless previous rounds and so we come to it almost by rote.
Maybe you will disagree with me on this point, but there does not seem to be any such thing as true loyalty to ones alliance any more (and I know that has been said a thousand times before); why would there be when alliances come and go so quickly in the diminished universe. Why would you get up and defend some set of common shared values when you only joined your alliance two months ago? Would you care that much?
That I think is why AD has become so watered down all of a sudden.

I think most alliance HC`s has finally got the negative effect it has upon the alliance you represent when you put the spotlight on your alliance when you flame/spam/use propaganda on AD. The best AD policy is total AD silence 99.9% of the time. Dull, but true!

Re: AD Arguments
The alliances I remember are those that existed on AD, not just in the game.
The ones who win rounds without posting might as well not exist, as far as I'm concerned (and I know I'm not the only one who shares this view).

tomkat, tbh, nobody still gives a rats ass what you think of their alliance :/
The alliances I remember are the ones who fought hard and well. For me a round isn't about the trolls on AD, it's about the war.

Ah sorry i was thinking of Mission Impossible! Stupid me..
I think he's in all 4 games. He sold boats in the first one, coffins in the second... can't remember about 3 or 4 though, but I'm pretty sure he was in them
