No. I think that's not right. I was just being confused by the way you posted it, that's all.
Perhaps instead of "3 posts to charge" you should use "2 charge posts left" and enforce the rule that you cannot charge and fire in teh same post. That would pose problems for weapons that would require only 1 post to charge.

The correct way would be:

-post 1-
Charge superweapon first post

DM Post (2 charge left)

-post 2-
Charge superweapon second post

DM Post (1 charge left)

-post 3-
Charge superweapon third post

DM Post (superweapon charged and ready to fire)

-post 4-
Fire the superweapon

DM Post (DM for superweapon's effects)

I believe this to be the correct way to do it, but it makes me pitty the people with the Bio Phaser, because they need an extra post before they can fire. I don't know how powerful the wepon is, but perhaps it may be a good idea to lower their charging cost to 3 posts instead of the current 4 posts?

Re: Masters of Andromeda IV (New Horizons - Out of the Ashes)

Gone for a couple of days.

If DM-age occurs before Return of the Fluff...

Actions:
Close in on closest Concordat.
Continue boosting shields directly from Slipstream Drive.
Best attack course, optimizing full usage of all Heavy Neutrons and Heavy Disruptors.
Fire those two weapon groups as soon lock on is acquired and firing range is achieved.
After first strike, prepare for second volley.
Particle Arrays continue to be AFD.
Fighters still fly escort, orders are to engage all enemy fighters within striking range of the Concordat with the utmost force - but a mishap like what happened to LORD FLUFFIE THE DARTH is to be prevented at ALL COSTS.

COntinue charging superweapons
SO and COMMS continue their job.

Have fun Mr. Fluff, we'll take extra special care of your concordat in your absence.

Yes I know you did, but due to a minor inconsistency in that post (you saying that the DM post was for 'the post to be', which isn't correct and would add an extra post to the charging cost), I chose to ignore it and await a reply from the Lady herself.

I've already started on a reply, but currently I'm too tired to finish it, so I'll do that after I wake up again. Please hold until then. Thanks.

Re: Masters of Andromeda IV (New Horizons - Out of the Ashes)

*Jumps on the hold the phone band wagon as well*

--Edittage \o/--

*Kama sits in her flashy command chair observing the battle, the XGP sails passed close on the left flank of the Frivilous Rainbow, and prepares for it's attack run on the Devoran Concordat. Narrowly missing Bogg's barrage of U-turning missiles

"...

My dear Bogg, I quite aware we've got new enemy vessels approaching the World Ships from our rear... but perhaps you could consider turning your ship around before firing at them.."

*Flipping through the data analysis coming through to her monitor courtesy of the Science officer, she is able to review the battle standings in more details.

"Damn them, we'll find a new card to play... Weapons room, disable the targetting lock on our missiles... no one hack's our missiles without a fight. Get a team down to the missile bays, prepare a round of blank missiles, yes you heard me, rip out the explosive source and get an the comms specilist to wire in a feedback mechanism... if the Devorans try to hack one of these particular missiles, I want it to flood the frequency they open with scrambled data, lets see if the surge can overload anything."

*Gripping the pair of joysticks on her own console, Kama titls the throttle control heavily forward.

"I'm taking us into the action, you've been warned."

*Smirkly quietly the commander takes the cruiser into a fast swoop on the Devoran Ship, The Sleak XGP banks into the maneover, it's going to make it's run along the side of Concordat #1

"Engine room, Cold fusion engines are running smooth I assume, Heavy Fusion Cannons online, prepare for the discharge. Weapons, when we reach the concordat, full spread with both Heavy Fussion cannons, rake their hull as we pass. Bring the Heavy Neutron Cannons online, we're at close range, make the most of it!"

*Quickly taking half a second to check the ships approach line, tighening the hold on both controllers.

"Manual target half our available missiles on the pass, we'll have to take them off fighter defence for best results, fire just ahead of our course when we hit them with as much as we can.

Comms, transfer the line to our other two vessels. Light Cruisers, respond... Ron, Harry, I want you to cover us on this one, go high, and stay above the main line of fire on either side. Hold back your missiles for a moment yet, we have to try something. Sweep the lines of approaching fighters with your Phaser Vs... unconventional I know, but a sustained burst with your four turrets should cut their formation."

*Changing the channel back to the rest of the fleet, Kama listens in on the friendly broadcast to get an idea of how the others are faring."

"New vessels joining the fight on both sides... keep the pressure on, remember people, they are up to something, stay sharp!"

*The comms officer is signalled and music comes in over the bridge speaker system. [Outlaw Star OST 1-1: Come on] as they plunge into combat with the Devorans.

Summary
XGP (Cruiser) - Targetting Concordat at close range
4x Heavy Neutron Cannons
2x Heavy Fusion Cannons, charged and firing
5x Heavy Missile, manual
5x Light Missile, manual
5x Cluster Missile, manual
^And aimed ahead of the course, to impact before they could be altered anyhow
Tractor Beams Mk40 - charging, ready for next turn
Launching as many dud missiles as can be produced on short notice, spam the enemy hackers

El Dorado (Light Cruiser) - Targetting Concordat from out of the way
1x Electro Pulse Gun
Tuned in to disrupting enemy electro magnetic shields
4x Phaser V sweeping through their fighter formations
Advanced Damage Control Teams getting to work

Shangri'la (Light Cruiser) - Targetting Concordat from out of the way
1x Electro Pulse Gun
Tuned in to disrupting enemy electro magnetic shields
4x Phaser V sweeping through their fighter formations
Advanced Damage Control Teams getting to work

Fluffie - "Goddamnit..."

WO - Laughing in a slightly evil kind of way - "We HAVE the power now, sir."

Fluffie - Nodding, happily - "Aye, indeed."

The vessel clears from the debris field, beginning to pick up speed as it clears from the field. Slicing through space like a knife through hot butter, it doesn't go to FTL speed yet.

Comms - "Sir, we still have an appointment at Ankaa, we're already late..."

SO - "...and we don't know how long they'll actually want us along on that big mission of theirs."

Fluffie - "Right, right. Plot a course to Ankaa, EO, ALL power to the Slipstream Drives."

EO - "Weapons going offline, shields going offline, superweapons... going offline."

Helm - "Plotting course for Ankaa."

Outside, the shields go down, leaving only the hull to protect the starship. The numerous weapons power down too, rerouting all power to the Slipstream Drives.

EO - "All power going into the Slipstream Drives."

SO - "This is going to be one hell of a ride, sir."

Comms - Opens a shipwide comm - "Attention, all hands, prepare for a rough ride."

SO - Looking at the energy output - "We're going to make one hell of an arrival."

Fluffie - "Helm, we good to go?"

EO - "The Slipstream Drives are fully charged and going into overdrive..."

Helm - "Ready to go on your mark..."

Fluffie - Smiling - "Move out."

The big vessel turns about, still picking up speed while already moving at an impressive pace. As it finishes turning, she jumps out with a massive bright flash...

[Time passes, switch from deep space to Ankaa.]

With a massive flash and a huge energy signature, the Concordat jumps into Ankaa space, almost right behind the player ships attacking the Devorans. Immidiately after jumping, its sensors freak out and the comms chatter is insane...

Fluffie - "Mother of..."

SO - "Enemy contacts, eight Devoran CONCORDATS!"

Comms - "We are being hailed, sir!"

WO - "EO, give us power, GIVE US POWER DAMNIT."

EO - Hurriedly working on his console - "Seperate shield and superweapon grid steady... Shields coming online, superweapons are charging."

SO - "We have been targetted."

Comms - "I suggest we reply, soon..."

Fluffie - "Helm, get us plowing right through those Devoran ****ers. Boost all shields using the Slipstream Drives. WO, get me a weapons lock on the closest Concordat."

Comms - "Sir..."

EO - "Normal weapons coming online, taking FTL drive online and boosting shields..."

WO - "Searching for target."

Comms - "SIR!"

Fluffie - "Tell them we'll shoot the ****ers out of the sky. We are the Pirate Vessel they wanted along on the mission, tell them to fire at those Devorans instead."

Comms - "Aye..."

Fluffie - "And tell them we're sorry about being late. Flight Control, LAUNCH ALL FIGHTERS."

Still gliding through space at an impressive pace after having jumped in, the big pirate vessel's Impulse Drives kick in, the rear of the ship flaring up. The ship turns about, beginning to charge at the Devorans.

SO - "Multiple ships already attacking the Devoran ships."

FC - "Launching all fighters. Orders?"

Fluffie - "Fly escort with us and take down any fighter or missile... Or whatever gets too close."

WC - "Particle Arrays coming online, Particle Lasers comings online, linking them up."

SO - "Enemy ships show no missile weaponry..."

WC - "Both Arrays link 10 Particle Lasers, both set to AFD tasking. Locking on Disruptor and Neutron batteries to closest Concordat..."

Fluffie - "Tractor Beams to point defense."

FC - "Fighters launched, they are forming up around us."

EO - "Shields online, still boosting directly from Slipstream Drives. Superweapons charging."

Fluffie - "Fire as soon as we're in range!"

Still behind the other Captains attacking the Devoran fleet, Fluffie's Concordat begins catching up, its weapons locking on with help of the Advanced Tactics Computer. Opening up as soon as they reach firing range, a massive volley of weapons fire bursts out from the numerous weapon ports spread along the hull of the Concordat.

Fluffie - "SO, I want a detailed scan of everything here. Use the Astrometrichs and our full scanning array, m'kay? Comms, tap into everything you can and see if you can learn anything useful."

SO & Comms - Looking a bit suprised at each other as they reply at the same moment, using the same two words - "Aye, Cap'n."

Fluffie - Looking at No1 as everyone is busy working - "Did we go to red alert yet?"

No1 - Shakes his head

Fluffie - "You can have the honour then, mate!"

No1 - Grinning before pressing the "Red Alert" button, red lights flash around the ship a mere second later - "All hands, in case you hadn't noticed yet, we are at war. Again. All hands, red alert, report to battle stations."

Summary:
Jumped in.

Unable to supress a slight grin, thought it was unlike John to seem so generous to others, perhaps there couldbe some profit in this after. Reaching down to open interal communications to the hold, a familiar muffled voice coming through on the other end

Carter Resting an Icy stare on the officer, the man was compitent but to talktive for his own health
"As I recall as well he also proven himself in battle time and again, once the slight problem of punshiment was dealt with after taht incident. Getting a grim satisfaction from the look on mans face was enough to know he was udnerstood.

Outside

Actions Part 2 (See previous post for otehr actions)

Moving towards the command ship with rapid speed.

Going to fire Borg Phton torpdeos and use their sheild distrubting effect to create gap in the ships sheilding around the engines.

Whilst decloaked firing a volley of EMP missles at front sections of all ships to confuse their sencors, followed by launching the orbital satelite set to overload so taht on scans it shows the engery signature of a bigger vessel.

Then for short time that gap last slip hopefully undetected through it, using the power given out by the crafts engines to dwarf that of Black Rose to that it wont even show up at all with all luck.
Actions noted part 2
moving at battle speed
Borg Weapons fired - they are not affected by the DEVORAN ABILITY
Fireing EMP missiles - they are affected and turn round and hit you

A series of beeps broke the silence of the bridge.

"Incoming transmission from a Captain... Darkling." The Comms Officer frowned as he scanned through the message. "Enemy communications picked up coming from external source..."

The Comms Officer was then rudely interuppted by an alarm going off on the Sensor Officers console.

"Wormhole forming! Enemy ships jumping in behind us! Picking up one Command Carrier and 3 Attack Destroyers. Starting detailed scans now." The Sensor Officer started furiously tapping commands into his console, bringing up wireframe views of the incoming ships in bottom corner of the main view screen. "Enemy fighters launching from the Command Carrier"

Crazy, who was musing over the concordats, suddenly sat up straight in his chair. "Damnit. They've drawn off most of our defences for the World Ships. Helm! Bring us around 180. Set an intercept course for those new contacts. Wing Command, contact all fighters. They're to procede with us to engage these new targets. Comms, get onto the Flagship ask them for support."

A series of 'Aye Sir's followed Crazy's orders as the Officers on the bridge leapt into action, now having something to do apart from wait.

The large shape of the Pegasus, started swinging around, turning around to face the incoming ships from behind. The squadrons of fighters all started banking around, to join with their base ship and head off the new threat.

Menwhile, in Astrometrics, Leftenant Commander Tanya Ivanova, the No.1, was scrolling through the list of personal onboard the ship and picking out all those with programming skills, and calling them immeditly into Astrometrics. As soon as they arrived, she ordered them into using their skillz into making ways in which the über AI could infiltrate and hack into the Devoran computer systems. Soon, Astrometrics was rather croweded, and full of the sound of keys being tapped as the computer g33ks... uh techys, started updating the ship board AI with ways in which it could cause havok on the Devoran ships.

-=Summary=-

- Turning around to face the new oncoming threat.
- Starting detailed scans on new enemy ships to find out stuff about them
- All fighters doing an about face and heading with their carrier ship
- Contacted the Flagship, asking for assistance to deal with the new enemy ships.
- Calling all computer g33ks on the ship to help make the AI hack into the Devoran ships
- Attempt number 2 to hack into the Devoran ship.
Actions noted
Turning to face the new threat
strting to scan - no data as yet
Fighters turn to face the Enemy Fighters
5 Frigates join you - your command
All the Computer scientists (geeks and nerds) try to hack
No 2 attempt - fails - but headway is made

Blake: “Status Report.”

Officer: “We are ready to go, scans show the bulk of the fleet is closing to engage the eight Devoran vessels. But just recently sensor’s report a wormhole has been established close to the World Ships. We are picking up signatures of three destroyers and one command carrier, all Devoran by the looks of it.”

Blake: “Damn it; set a course for the new arrivals. Power up the weapon systems and shields, also starting charging the Particle Phaser we may need it. Oh and launch the fighters, we will need them.”

Officer: “Yes, Captain.”

Blake: "Oh and as soon as possible, scan the enemy vessels to see if we can find any weaknesses."

As the Officers started barking orders, Blake settled into his command chair and was keying into his chair console when a familiar voice came over the comm.

Comms Officer: “All hands to battle stations, all hands to battle stations. We will be engaging the enemy shortly.”

Blake: “Open a channel to the fleet. Audio only.”

Comms Officer: “At once, Captain!”

A few seconds later two distinct bleeps sounded, the sound that indicated that a channel was open.

Blake: “To all ships in the vicinity, this is Captain Blake of the Battleship Victor. If you do not already know, a wormhole has been opened near the World Ships and our scanners detect several Devoran ships entering the area – signals suggest a command carrier and three destroyers. We are moving to engage, we may need assistance.”

Blake nods to the communications officer, who quickly cuts the channel. Blake sits back in his command chair, a weary look on his face. He needed to think how he was going to stop those ships, and not to mention the fighters. Blake sat up sharply, his second in command looked at him from where he was standing.

Officer: “Is everything alright Captain?”

Blake: “Get the wing commander on.”

The Second in Command nods to the comms officer, the face of the Wing Commander appears on the viewing screen seconds later.

WC: “Yes, Captain?”

Blake: “Do you think our fighters could out maneuver the Devoran fighters?”

WC: “Possibly Captain, our lads will give it the best if you wish.”

Blake: “Just try and hold them off, and try not to get hit!”

The Wing Commander nods.

WC: “Yes Sir!”

Blake nods and the screen returns to being blank.

Actions taken

- The ship powers up weapons, shields and starts powering the Particle Phaser. Both Tractor beams set to point defense.

- All 10 fighters have been launched, standing escort. Once engaged they will attempt evasive flying above all else.

- Ship is headed towards the Command Carrier and Destroyers.

- Communication has been sent to all friendly vessels in the area of the incoming ships.

- Once in range, ship will fire on the closest target with all available weapons but no Torpedoes. Closest target includes enemy fighters.

- Scan the enemy ships for possible weaknesses.

Hope that was okay for my first go. Also im presuming we cannot detect Darklings vessel because it is under cloak?
Actions Noted
ooc - yeah this is good for yer 1st post - ooc
Fighters launched - 10 of them
Superweapon charge - 3 posts
tractor beams set to point defence
firing on the Destroyers who are attempting to attack the command carrier of crazy
scanning - Data Incoming - all DEVORAN energey weapons are Shield Busters - they will continue to effect your shield damage for the immediate round after they hit
and yes you cannot detect Darkling unless he is damaged or you conduct and ACTIVE scan instead of a PASSIVE scan

SO: We're a bit busy Fox 1. Get in contact with our friendly neighbourhood flagship and ask them for orders.

WC: Will do. Out.

WO: HPC's still not ready sir. Come on damn it!

Helm: Holy crap sir did you see that? That rainbow ship just got a mouthful of her own missiles!

Comms: Fleet command such sent a message requesting all ships in this sector to gather information as to why the enemy is carrying excess fuel captain.

*The sheer amount of information pouring in was almost enough for Hewitt to turn over to a bottle of brandy. Almost.*

Hewitt: Well No.1, I hope you have a few bright ideas in that pretty head of yours because to be honest I'm having a difficult time trying to figure out how the hell we can get out of this bloody mess not looking like we'd just gone ten rounds with eight Devoran Concordats...

No.1: I hear you on that one sir.

Hewitt: SO, scan for weaknesses in that thing. Let me know the first moment you find one.

SO: Yes sir.

No.1: If only we we're back in the hot seat of a fighter again hey Leto? We could just buzz around that lumbering monster before us taking pot shots here and there and um... sir are you alright?

*Hewitt is standing dead still with a look on his face as if hit with the most brilliant of ideas.*

No.1: Sir?

Hewitt: No.1. You just gave me a fantastic idea.

No.1: I did? Cool erm... what is it?

*Hewitt grins evilly before virtually running over to the helmsman of the ship.*

No.1: Oh no. I know that look. Tell me the plan Leto. Leto! *Runs after Hewitt.*

Hewitt: Helm stand aside for a moment. I've gotta do something.

Helm: Um... sure sir.

*No.1 reaches the helm just as Hewitt is taking over.*

No.1: Sir what are you doing!? Now is not the time for flying practice you've got a ship to run.

Hewitt: Engineering, this is the captain. EO I want you to divert two whole impulse drives into improving Pandora's handling and isolate three more for use as main thrust only.

EO: Sir, I hope you're aware that leaves us with virtually no back up if the other two engines goe offline.

Hewitt: Perfectly aware just do it.

No.1: Wait a minute. You aren't trying to do what I think you're trying to do are you?

Hewitt: *Grins* That depends No.1...

EO: Done sir.

Hewitt: *Fastens seatbelt then opens a channel to the whole ship.* This is the captain speaking. All crew members have about five seconds to grab hold of something before I start putting Pandora through her paces. In other words... brace yourself. Hewitt Out.

*Everyone on the command bridge just looks at Hewitt as if he's a crazy man, notices the seatbelt, the changed power levels and then hurriedly begin to pull on their respective seat restraits.*

No.1: Oh shit. *Runs back to his chair.*

Hewitt: Tally ho!

*Hewitt pushs forward on the control column.*

Pandora, external view...

*The large tan and sapphire battleship cruises steadly forward in formation with the nearby allied dreadnaught. She is seen taking a few long range hits from the Devoran Concordat when scores of small engine ports along her hull begin to glow a hell of a lot brighter than what they would normally. There is a burst of forward acceleration...

and then Pandora goes into a sudden dive.

Pandora, Command Bridge...

Hewitt: YEEEEHHHAAAAA!!!

No.1: This isn't a strike fighter captain it's a god damn battleship ffs!!

SO: WOOHOO!

Helm: Dear lord. We ask you to deliver us from this evil...

Comms: Oh god. I think I'm going to be sick...

WO: @#$! #%$!% !%@$! ^!@^!

MC: F*ck! My coffee!

AM: Please mommy! Make it stop!

BO: *crash!* My juniper bush! It's ruined!

Security Officer: WERE ALL GONNA DIE! YAAAAAA!!!

*Ignoring the ruckass behind him, Hewitt concentrates on flying the ship. He keeps Pandora in a dive for a few moments before pulling back up again. Looking up Hewitt can see the nightmarish shape of the Devoran concordat from underneath instead of front on.*

Hewitt: This is it everyone! We're going to hit the enemy where it hurts the most! WO take aim to the enemies engine array!

WO: *panting* Aye sir. Target acquired... *mutters something incoherent*

Hewitt: What's that? You want a better angle? Ok....

*Hewitt rolls Pandora a full 180 degrees. Someone pukes up in the background.*

SO: Eww...

Comms: Sorry.

WO: #$^&%#... Thank you sir, that's a MUCH clearer shot.

No.1: *snicker*

Helm: We're closing fast sir.

Hewitt: I know that... WO can you lock down the guidance systems on our missiles and torps?

WO: You mean make 'em 'dumbfire' sir? Yeah I can do that.

Hewitt: Do it. Then lock it down to make sure those devoran peeps don't override it. I want every one of those missiles heading in the general direction of the enemy not us.

WO: Aye sir. I'm on it. *Begins tapping away at the control panel.*

*Hewitt continues to fly at as fast as possible towards the rear end of the large enemy ship ducking and weaving as the Devoran throw all they can at Pandora from this angle.*

WO: Done. Projectile weapons are locked down into dumbfire mode but I've switched on the AMD just in case sir.

Hewitt: Good. Just in time to... God this is gonna be close. Energy weapons first starting with Ion burst then let loose with the standard missile deployment.

WO: Aye-

Hewitt: Ready! FIRE!!!

*The entire ship shudders as Pandora unleashes her fury upon the Devoran concordat. Flashes of many colours from beams spread forth as the Plasma, Disrupter, Photon and Ion Cannons all open up on the enemies engines.
A second later and a swarm of missiles and torpedoes appear. EMP missiles and Nova Torpedoes dominate the swarm but of special note are the large cruise and simply huge reflex missiles following closely behind. The sight of all that potential destruction is truely a spectacular one but Hewitt doesn't have the time to admire the beauty of it all.

Because the hull of the Devoran Concordat is rushing up to meet him. On the lower decks some crew members even swear they can make out faces in the enemy viewports.*

Hewitt: Hold on everyone!

*Hewitt pulls back heavily on the control stick and Pandora begins to climb away. Her nose lifts higher and higher but metal still fills the view from the bridge.*

No.1: Shit sir this is gonna be close.

Hewitt: We're gonna make it. *grits his teeth*

*SO reads the proximity dial.*

SO: 1000 metres... 800, 600, 400, 200, 100, 50, Oh C-

*Suddenly the void of space returns and Pandora speeds past mere INCHES from the enemy hull.*

ENTIRE SHIP: *PHEW!*

Hewitt: Alright... good job everyone. I'll move away for a bit before turning around and doing it all again yeah?

*Hewitt yells a number of choice curses as he is literally thrown out of the drivers seat by half the command crew.*

The Victor sped towards the enemy vessels, preparing to engage them to protect the World Ships at all costs.

Blake sat in his command chair, the bridge had returned to a quiet buzz of bleeps and other noises. Light chat was also heard from the bridge crew, mostly related to checking ships systems. Blake enjoyed the quietness of space and the ship. Soon it would be interrupted as battle reports would come and an orderly chaos would ensue from his crew. They knew what to do, how to do it efficiently but there was always the aspect of the unexpected.

He took the time to survey his command, like he had done many times before battle. The view screen, now looking like an ordinary section of wall, but when active was very useful. Along the other walls sat bridge crew at workstations, each monitoring different systems in the ship. About four meters behind him was the door to the lift. And to each side say more consoles. The lights were fairly bright, he liked it like that, seemed to sooth him. He gave a heavy sigh before returning to keying commands into his chair console.

He liked to be prepared as soon as possible for battle, which is why most of his battles there was a quiet before. He encouraged the crew to work quickly and enjoy this quit as it allowed them to think and make sure they got everything correct.

Officer: “Captain, we are coming up on the enemy ships.”

Blake: “Very good, put us between the World ships and the enemies and then target the closest Devoran vessel and fire all available weapons. We will save the torpedoes for later. Cut the engines; keep us moving steady but not current speed. Use all power from engines to reinforce our shields. Have the advanced tactics computer calculate the best place to hit those damn ships.”

Officer: “At once, Captain!”

The Officer moved off to issue out orders to those concerned. Blake sat in deep contemplation on what he will do next; he decided that whatever he would decide based upon damage caused to the target enemy ship.

Actions Taken

- Ship moved to engage, trying to place itself between the World ships and the enemy fleet.

- If possible power from engines diverted to shields, means the ship will be moving way slower than normal, almost to a stop.

- Open fire on the nearest Devoran Destroyer with all weapons except the Particle Phaser (Still Charging) and the Torpedoes.

- Fighters to stand escort still, unless fighters attack then they will of course engage.

And that’s about it, probably forgotten something but oh well.
actions noted - see previos post

Taii Wanada Tahara, commander of the Hatsuhara's 4th "Dragon" Fighter Wing made a slight adjustment to his fighter's course and glanced at the distance to target measure on his heads-up display. several hundred kilometres, still a few minutes untill the leading A Wing would engage the enemy interceptors. Having checked his course, he glanced left through the thick, armourglass of the Samurai medium fighter's cockpit canopy, then did the same on the right, making sure his 1st and 2nd wingmen were still bearing with the formation. He nodded approvingly, having assured himself that both were flying perfectly adequately. There were a lot of green recruits aboard the Hatsuhara, but most of its fighter pilots had been picked from the Empire's first and finest. Tahara had flown alongside some of them before while serving aboard other ships. The lieutenant, satisfied that his own wing was in order, looked out in front of him at the other fighters arrayed. The scwarm was an ancient formation; records of it had been found in the Clan's historical archive. It maximised firepower and concentrated it on a specific area of the enemy by using a tiered effect. The Hatsuhara's 70 Samurai medium fighters were divided into fourteen wings of five fighters each. In the current formation, each wing flew aside another, with each pair flying around ten metres below the two in front of it. The result was that all of the fighters would be able to fire at once, pouring a devastating torrent of fire into the enemy. Tahara had seen it work before in many battles. Unfortunatly, it left the fighters vunerable to enemy fighter defenses. Fortunatly, the Devoran Concordat had none. Fleet Intelligence had already identified the Particle Array, but theorised that due to the weapon's limited (front facing) firing arc, it would be unable to offer protection against the Clan's fighters if they got close to it. As such, the airmens' only worry were the enemy Interceptors.

"Hatsuhara combat flight control to Taii Wanada, are you recieving, sir?" Speak of the devil...

"This is Wanada, I can hear you clearly, flight control." There was a slight pause before the man's return transmission reached his ears.

"Sir, the enemy Concordat is launching all fighters. Commander Yoritomo orders all fighters to concentrate on the Interceptors first. After the initial attack run you are to break schwarm formation immediately and engage the enemy Interceptors two-on-one. One they are destroyed, Commander Yoritomo instructs you to target the enemy fighters and fighter-bombers. He orders that you are not distracted by enemy bombers or missiles, as our lines vessels are adequately defended. That is all." The flight control was female and, from the sound of her voice, distorted as it was by static, quite young. She was likely more-or-less fresh out of the War Academy. A lot of the junior officers on the Hatsuhara itself were. Wanada checked his fighter's sensor screen before replying. He could see a swarm of tiny red blips emenating from the massive red wireframe hulk representing the Concordat. He nodded and replied.

"Confirm flight control, I have the enemy strike craft on my scope but I can't identify the Interceptors at this range. Requesting sensor data relay from the Hatsuhara." He said, his tone bored and uninterested, as though he were performing some kind of routine patrol. Oddly, he wasn't feeling at all anxious. He had full faith in the tactics put forward by Fleet Intelligence, in his experience, the training of his wingmen and in the structure of the formation.

"One moment, sir." A pause while the girl fetched the appropriate data from the Hatsuhara's brigde, processed it and sent it to the fighter wing leaders. "All available sensor data regarding the enemy line vessel and strike craft has been sent, sir. Good luck, flight control out." And, with that, she was gone. Wanada checked his sensor pannel again. Instead of crude wireframe representations, the image of the enemy Concordat was now infinitely detailed, with the key surface targets - gun turrets and sensor arrays and such - picked out. Meanwhile, the enemy fighters on his sensor screen and HUD were now circled by simple, two-dimensional shapes. As always, the squares were placed around dedicated Interceptors, triangles around fighters, circles around fighter-bombers and diamonds around dedicated bombers. There were no larger strike craft present. Wanada nodded, before bringing his right hand up to the side of his flight helmet and pressing a different com button down, communicating to the rest of his wing.

"All fighters, Dragon Wing, your primary targets are the enemy Interceptors. Destroy them, then move onto the fighter-bombers. Do not engage enemy bombers. The home vessels are adequately defended. Break formation as soon as we finish our attack run and pair up with your partner from Edo Wing." His voice did alter in the slightest as a barrage of missile fire from the Yudachi and Hatsuhara passed overhead. Two small, but brilliantly intense, white lights from the Ydachi's quantum torpedoes, four less intense but larger lights from the Hatsuhara's four cruise missiles. A pair of gigantic, fiery red ion beams streaked overhead shortly behind them, moving much faster, before striking the invisible forcefields surrounding the enemy Concordat. Where the beams touched the invisible wall, it glowed brilliant white, revealing its spherical form. Wanada was used to all of this. He'd seen it a hundred times before in a hundred different battles.

"Hai, sir." Replied his wingmen in a ragged chorus. At the front of the formation, A and B Wings rose up a few points. Wanada almost automatically altered his course accordingly. The distance between them and the enemy Interceptors was closing fast now. Wanada's right hand tightened around the controls, his index finger resting lightly on the trigger, adrenaline pumping through his veins. The ion beams cut out, and around ten seconds after, the missiles - their exhaust emissions now long removed from the view of the naked eye - struck the shields. Again, they glowed brilliant white as energy fought energy, before subsiding.

"All fighters, set shields to full frontal. Equalize them as soon as we break formation." Came the voice of the fighter squadron's leader. Again, almost without thinking, Wanada obeyed, hiking the power of his front deflector shields up to maximum in preparation for a barrage of enemy fire. Range was closing very rapidly, the enemy fighters moving toward them as quickly as they moved toward the enemy. He could just see some light from the exhausts of the enemy strike craft. Any moment now. He glanced down at the picture of his family, taken two weeks before, which he had placed atop the control console. He'd been insured that they would be aboard the World Ships, ready to meet him at mankind's new home, should he and they survive the flight form the Andromeda Galaxy. Wanada looked back up in the direction of the enemy. The fighters were close now. Very close...

"All fighters, open fire, open fire and engage! Wanada's finger jammed down on the trigger...

An observer would have seen two swarms of tiny shapes, a dull metallic shine nearly obscured by the bright glare of their engines, approaching eachother at speed, the barren void between them growing ever smaller. One swarm, that on the left, would have been moving in orderly, well-structured lines, vertically staggered like some kind of staircase, that would have looked very much out of place in the chaotic battle unfolding elsewhere on the field. The other would have been moving in a seemingly random formation, but the careful observer would have noted that this second swarm was formed from several smaller swarms, all of which held their own ordered formation. All at once, this almost serene view would have been ripped apart as two fighter group engaged eachother. The front wingmen of the Asanawa Clan fighters risked sporadic, ranged firing from the enemy leaders without returning fire themselves in order that the concussive effect of the schwarm formation be mazimised. In a matter of seconds, the moments ago lifeless void was filled with a magnificent blaze of pyrotechnics, pulse phaser beams lancing out from the Aasanawa Clan fighters to swat at the Devoran Interceptors, themselves pouring fire into the scwarm. Lieutenant Commander Yoritomo of the carrier Hatsuhara was able to regard the whole spectacle through the unliving eyes of the camera drone sent out to the far left of where the fighters would meet before the firing started. Yoritomo's living left hand convulsed into a fist involuntarily as he watched the lethal energy beams sear back and forth between the two approaching hordes, appearing as brief and tiny sparks. He let out a sigh as tiny explosions began to break out - though he could no longer tell on which side, for the two formations were upon eachother. Yoritomo was standing. He never sat down when in battle. It seemed uncomfortable to him, somehow. He began to walk over toward the coms area of the carrier's bridge, still watching the viewscreen, as the lead rank of Asanawa Clan fighters broke through the opposite side of the Deovran mass, followed by the other ranks behind them. Yoritomo nodded to himself, before stopping behind the console of his senior coms officer.

"Relay the order to flight control; all fighters are to break formation immediately and engage accoridng to my previous instructions." He said in a steady tone, his gaze flicking down briefly to the woman in front of him before afixing itself again on the viewscreen. "And tell them to send me up an initial casualties report as soon as the wing leaders do their first round of reports." He added this almost as an afterthought. He had to be constantly aware of any reduction in the capabilities of the carrier's fighter wings; they were its main weapon. He expected some initial losses - the scwarm formation allowed for great concentration of firepower, but made the fighters in it vunerable to return fire from the opposite direction. Hence, the wise commander used it for the initial charge but then had his fighters break and engage at will. Asanawa Clan fighters were fast and manouevreable, so Yoritomo was confident that they would have the advantage at close quarters.

"Aye sir," Replied the senior coms officer, before giving a report, "also, sir, we have an order from the Shingen. He instructs us to cease all weapons fire immediately, but have all batteries charged and ready to fire on his order."

"Very well." He paced over to his command chair in order to make use of the quick intercom system built into it. Carriers were not line ships, and so the Clan gave them no master gunner to control the firing, leaving it instead to be co-ordinated between a sensor officer and a stand-in weapons officer, usually a junior intelligence man with additional training. Something this simple could be ordered by he himself, however. He reached the chair, jamming his robotic right index finger down on the 'all gunneries' button. "All batteries, cease fire immediately but charge up and reload. Be ready to open fire again at short notice." He released the button and paced back over to the coms officer. The Shingen obviously had some kind of plan in mind...

---

No Dachi watched the unfolding dogfight on the Yudachi's viewscreens, the data from the Hatsuhara's camera drones having been re-routed by a helpful coms officer. No Dachi had a plan in mind. He had been mulling this plan over for quite some time now, assessing the risks and putting them against the possible gains, but evidently now was the time to put his theory to the test. Against the might of the Concordat attack force, the Federation and Kipire vessels were in danger of being swept away, and the timely arrival of the Devoran command carrier at their rear only served to complicate matters. Desparate times called for desparate measures. Any fool could see that, if the isolated battle on the left flank continued its present course, the Yudachi would be blown out of the water, as it were, by the heavily armed Devoran super-battleship, manouevre or no. This was going to be all the more apparent now that he could no longer use the Clan force's extensive missile arsenal. He had watched Bogg's Frivolous Rainbow vessel's missiles had been turned back onto it with no small degree of anxiety. The senior Fleet Intelligence officers were seemingly fascinated by it, and were currently holding one of their academic yet rather too lengthy conversations about it off to one side of the bridge, while junior coms officers stood by ready to provide statistics. However, No Dachi didn't need to know about the potential tactical ramifications of this new development, but more how to prevent them from disabling his ships' missile weaponry. He did have some idea, though. It appeared that the Devorans were using some kind of signal or field to subvert the security encryptions protecting the guidance systems on the missiles. As such, he was going to have to find some way of enhancing the missiles' security algorithms. For the first time this battle, He pressed on the commander's intercom button for the advanced engineering bay. He got a reply almost immediately.

"Chief Engineer Zukazi reporting." Came the gruff voice of the ship's Chief Engineer, the man who kept the most important part of any machine of war working seamlessly in battle.

"Mr Zukazi," No Dachi began, re-assuring himself that the Asanawa Clan ships' better-than-average missile defenses would be enough to protect the ship if this latest scheme were to fail. "Get any experienced programmers you have on hand, along with the Advanced AI, to go over all the guidance and security systems on all of our missiles. Communicate to your counterpart on the Hatsuhara that he is to follow suit. I want the security systems shored up and the guidance systems set so that they will lock and stay locked onto whatever initial target we give them."

"I'll have them fixed up in two minutes, sir. I'll get the programmers and the AI to come up with improvements, and then the AI to implement them on all the missiles simultaneously. Well within the Old Brute's capabilities, sir." The Old Brute was the affectionate nickname given to the ship's Advanced AI. Like many serving aboard Clan warships, the AI predated the vessel, having initially been installed on a now-decommissioned ship. High Command saw no good in throwing out perfectly good AI units...

"Very good. Also, if you have any additional power at all left over, route it all to the Medium Ion Cannons. That is all."

"Aye sir, I'll see what I can find. Engineering out." No Dachi now pressed another intercom button on the arm of his command chair. Again, a reply came almost immediately.

"Samurai Marine Corps combined command reporting." No Dachi was not familiar with any of the troops aboard the vessel save for the command officers and some of the Ship Marines. The ground troops and the Planetary Marines lived in what almost surmounted to a separate warship entirely, hidden away in the Yudachi's cargo hold, walled in by the mountains of supply crates overlooked by the logistics division.

"This is Commander No Dachi, get me Shosha Imasa on the line immediately."

"At once, My Lord." Replied the male signaller on the other end of the com. He heard a momentary buzz of static as he was re-directed to the 27th Ship Marine Brigade's headquarters - likely as not a pair of hollowed out cargo containers fused together somewhere in the hold by engineers. Time was of the essence, and the seconds it took to redirect him seemed like hours, but finally he heard the major general's voice on the other end.

"My Lord. I have not felt many a jolt in the ship down here in the hold, so I am assuming that the battle goes well, however, it does strike me that it is too early for boarding actions yet. Are we being boarded ourselves?" Experienced Marine officers such as Imasa Kirasowa learnt, over time, to know the flow of the battle according to the number of weaponry impacts the ship they were aboard took. No Dachi had no time for banter, however.

"I have a plan, Shosha, load 180 of your best men into the armoured escape pods, along with 20 of the best men from the Space Demolition teams. We are going to board the enemy Concordat. Send all 200 of the Angel Guard out there ahead of time and instruct them to head out left around the dogifight and through the airlock on the enemy Concordat. They are to stop once they reach the enemy shields, watch for the point where the ion cannon beams strike and then fly through that spot. If this plan works, they will be able to pass through the shields. Their aim is to disrupt the enemy troops and crew as much as possible so the SDT teams can do their work."

"I will lead them myself, sir. You can be assured that we will serve the Clan with the honour befitting our Corps. I have no doubts whatsoever that the Angels will do the same. Over and out" And with this, the comlink fell silent. Imasa had started out as an enlisted man, and had then earned his commission through bravery, like Shosha Yoritomo. He was famous for never allowing himself to be anywhere but at the front of his men. He had been reprimanded for putting himself in the line of fire, but would not change his ways. He was allowed to get away with it for the simple reason that High Command were so confident of his abilities as an actual soldier that they were sufficiently confident he would not get himself killed with the first wave. Now for the final link in his plan. No Dachi turned to the master gunner.

"Coms, I want you to relay the orders I give to the master gunner to the weapons officer on the Hatsuhara as well. Sensors, I want you to provide coms with the exact targetting data brought up by the master gunner. Coms, you will relay the targetting data as well. Tell the weapons officer on the Hatsuhara that I want those beams hitting exactly the same spot." He paused, watching the flickering lights from the dogfight on the viewscreen, before continuing. "Master gunner, prepare the particle array battery and the two ion cannon batteries to open fire immediately. Have the ion cannon maintain a continuous, five second beam on the enemy vessel's front shield arc, and fire the particle array four seconds after opening fire with the ion cannon. You are aiming the particle array at precisely the same spot that the medium ion cannon batteries are firing at. My theory is that the particle array blast will be able to pass through the enemy's shield spheres before they have time to equalise. Fire the armoured escape pods, all four of them, aiming for an outer hull corridor at the same time you fire the particle array. They should be able to get through the shields as well. Finally, I want all of our missiles and all of the Hatsuhara's locked onto enemy weapon turrets or sensor arrays and fired three seconds into the ion cannon beams. Have our missile defenses running hot ready to shoot down the missiles if the Devorans take control of them." Having finished this and seen the officers going about the tasks as per their instructions, No Dachi sat back and waited. It was the only thing he could do...

---

Summary
-Hatsuhara's fighters have broken schwarm formation after their initial attack, and are engaging the enemy interceptors two-on-one. Once the interceptors are down they will target the fighters, and once they are down they will target the bombers.
-Advanced Ships AI and engineering on the Yudachi and Hatsuhara stengthening guidance systems and security algorithms on all missile weaponry to protect it against the Devoran manipulation field.
-The medium ion cannons on both vessels are being targetted at the same point on the Devoran concordat's front shield arc and fired at the same time with a sustained five second beam.
-Three seconds into the beam, all missile weaponry on borth ships, now strengthened against Devoran interference, is to be fired, with targets being weapon turrets and sensor arrays, with their trajectories prlotted so that they pass through the area of shielding struck by the ion cannons.
-Four seconds into the beam, the Yudachi's particle array (which was at one post on my last DM, so I think that means it's ready to fire) is to be fired, aiming for structural damage, through the hole in the shields created by the ion cannon beams.
-At the same time, the armoured escape pods, loaded with 180 Samurai Marines and 20 SDT personnel, are to be fired. Once again, the master gunner is aiming the escape pods through the temporary hole created in the shields by the medium ion cannons.
-Once inside, the troops are going to move fast, with the Samurai Marines acting as guards for the SDT personnel, who will be carrying extra explosives. Given guidance from the acute sensors of the two friendly warships, they will make their way toward the engineering bay, storming and destroying any weapon turrets they find on the way.
-The 200 Angels, needing no protection from the void but wearing battle armour nonetheless, have already left, and will also be heading through the hole in the Devoran Concordat's shields. Infiltrating through airlocks, they will head toward the bridge, aiming to cause maximum disruption to boarding repulsion efforts. Should they reach the bridge, they will attempt to storm it, should it seem inadquately defended. If not, they will continue their efforts to disrupt the crew.

Yes. I know I promised, but something unexpected came in between. Sorry about that. My post is now ready and I will paste it within 60 seconds of this post.

Re: Masters of Andromeda IV (New Horizons - Out of the Ashes)

On board The Frivolous Rainbow the weapons officer looks at her display. "Weapon power is up to 125%. Shields are up to 125% and the EM-shielding is up to 150%. Missiles are underway." Suddenly she frowns for a second and then she quickly presses a large button on her console and yells: "This is the bridge, all hands brace for immediate impact!" Only a few seconds later, a series of explosions rock the ship.
Bogg: "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?"
WO: "It's the Devorans, captain! I don't know how they did it, but somehow they managed to turn our own missiles against us!"
No1: "Damage reports are coming in, captain. There's hardly any damage to the ship, but the shields are weakened. Also, five crewmen were injured and one of them died breaking his neck when he was thrown against the wall in the explosion."
Bogg: "Curse those Devoran bastards! Take all missile launchers offline until further notice and reroute the available power to the shields."
WO: "The launcher systems do not use a lot of power captain."
Bogg: "Do it anyway and send a repair team down to repair the damage immediately. Those that were injured are allowed to go to sickbay for treatment, but should report back to their stations as soon as they're patched up."
WO: "Aye capt'n."

* Captain Bogg bounces nervously on his seat and bites his lower lips as he looks on a small viewscreen that is mounted to the arm of his big captain's chair. Alison looks at him and asks are you that excited to go into battle, captain? Bogg leans over to her and whiningly whispers: "Alison, I gotta go pee-pee."
No1: "What? Now? Can't it wait until after the battle?"
* With a somewhat embarrassed and guilty expression on his face, Bogg feverishly shakes his head.
No1: "Oh alright, but be very quick about it.
* Bogg runs off to his room and yells: "I'll be back before you can say 'supercalifragilisticexpialidocious'".

Comms: "Ma'am, we're receiving a transmission from J-Kama-Ka-C's ship, audio only."
No1: "Alright let's hear it."
*The entire bridge crew (except for Bogg) listens to Kama's sneering remark about the missiles.
WO: "The Phased Particle Phasers 8 are almost fully charged, should I aquire a lock on her ship, Ma'am?"
No1: "We have an image to protect."
WO: "Excellent! I'll enjoy making holes in that piece of junk of hers."
No1: "No Sarah, I meant the new image. We'll just let that insult pass for now, but we certainly won't forget it."
WO: "Yes Ma'am."
No1: "Continue charging the PPP8's and keep a lock on that Devoran's engine section. I want to be able to fire as soon as those things are charged. Keep firing the disruptors and all quad blaster cannons at the same location and have the Particle Array, aided by the tractor beams and the regular AFD destroy as many of those Devoran fighters as possible."
WO: "Understood."
No1: "Laura, I want you to analyse the Devoran ships' movement and employed tactics. Look for both weak as well as strong points in their defensive and offensive capabilities and see if you can extract any flight patterns in their evasive manoeuvres. It'd be a great advantage to us if we can predict their actions. Relay anything you find directly to the helm as well as to Wing Commander McQuirk."
SO: "Aye Ma'am. I'll start working on it immediately!"

* At the same time, in a very specific place in Bogg's room, someone sighs with relief: "Ooh. Mmm. Aaaaaaaaaahhh...."
WC: "Captain; McQuirk here. We just had another look at... What's that sound? Do I hear water running? Captain?"
Bogg: "Umm, yes, something like that. What do you want?"
WC: Well, we had another look at the Nial's cloaking devices and we're pretty sure that the cloak and dagger technique you proposed will not work with them. The cloak just isn't built for that sort of thing."
Bogg: "Hmpf. Annoying how they don't tell you that sort of stuff before you make a purchase and are too far away to go back and execute the salesman. Are the Nials still cloaked?"
WC: "Of course captain."
Bogg: "Well then the Devorans won't know they're there and they'll have the element of surprise. Have your men fly after the Devoran bombers, aquire a lock, decloak and kill the bastards. After that, destroy as many of the other fighters as possible, and make them utilise their cloaking ability as best they can."
WC: "Very well, Sir. McQuirk out."

* A few moments later, Bogg walks back onto the bridge and sits down in his chair.
Bogg: "Sarah, I want you to continually transfer power between the shields. Reroute power from the sides opposite to Devoran concordat to the sides that are facing it to keep the shields strongest at those points that are directly targettable by the Devorans. This should somewhat reduce the damage that we'll receive. Use the normal AFD and the AMDII banks to destroy any fighters and missiles that happen to be on our more 'vulnerable' side."
WO: "Yes Sir. Consider it done."

----------------------
Actions:
- Nials use the cloak to perform a surprise attack on the Devoran Bombers and after that they will use the cloak to their advantage whenever applicable.
- Keeping the weapons' lock on that very special spot called 'Devoran Engine Section' and firing all heavy disruptors and all quad blaster cannons at increased (125%) power at this very special spot.
- Continue charging the PPP8's.
- Particle Array (AFD mode) (125% power) is to destroy any fighters that are within range.
- Shieldstrength is continually redistributed in such a way that the shields facing the Devoran concordat are up to their maximum strength by drawing power from the shields opposite the concordat. This should help decrease internal damage and possible casualties/injuries.
- Normal AFD and AMDII are to destroy any fighters and missiles that are on the more vulnerable side of the ship (where the shields are weaker).
- Scan for patterns in enemy manoeuvres and tactics to try and predict their actions to some extent, making it easier to target and evade them. Any information is directly relayed to Helm and WC for immediate exploitation.
- Helm is still flying evasive patterns.
- Missile and torpedo launcher systems are taken offline and the (small amount of) available power is pumped into the shields.
- Any wounded are to be treated in sickbay after which they must immediately report back to their stations.
- Damage control teams have been ordered to repair any damage that was done to the ship.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Not my precious #1 position.
ND must pay the price for this evil theft.
Incidentally, this scorelist couldn't have taken my last post into account. So I could still be #1 provided I score 80+ points with it.

okay, maybe I just missed the other DM...
-ooc-

WO: Not long until we can fire our superweapons, Sector Commander. But we are at extreme range, sir.
Cid: Get closer up to the nearest hostile target, keep at a long enough distance for defence and a short enough distance to fire.
Helm: Aye, Sector Commander.
No1: Are you sure we need to get close, sir? Those devoran ships are slow to manuaver away from our fire.
Cid: The better chance we have to hit, the better, Kosaga.

*Cid lay back a little in his chair. After a little while an officer came with a mug of coffee, a symbol representing the old Shraan Sector Fleet was on one side, and the new Shraan Fleet symbol on the other. With care not to touch the sides, Cid took the coffee and took an experimental sip, before resting it on the shoulder of his chair.*

Cid: Besides, the more we are out of range, the better chance we have of not being completely obliterated like we almost did the last large battle we did.
No1: I know, but we only had one cruiser then, sir. We are much more powerful now.
Cid: None-the-less, I do not wish another funeral like we did back then. The more crew members we can save from death, the better. Engineering, I want our sheilds to goto three quarter strength, divert the other quarter power towards our superweapons on all vessels. Also, stop aiming all normal energy weapons and divert their power to the superweapons.
WO: Yes sir.
EO: Aye, Sector Commander

-=Summary=-
Energy weapons stop
Sheilds to 3/4 strength
Divert energy to K-Superweapons
Get closer to nearest hostile ready to fire K-Superweapons
Drink Coffee when a little colder

Re: Masters of Andromeda IV (New Horizons - Out of the Ashes)

[Part 3 of Operation "Kill #4" - Finale]

[ooc] Apologizes about the lateness of this post, however I was under the impresion that you were NOT DM'ing till next week.

In addition, in PM's, Lady Hawk said Flapjack and Myself have charged super-weapons.[/ooc]

Communications Officer: "Sir, Captain Flapjack has acknoledge the tranmission, recieving data from his ships. Initiating tie-in with his AI's and Tatical Computers."

Science Officer: "I'm tying in all the data together sir. Okay... looks like we got the AI's talking to each other, they already agreed on a encryption scheme, temporary, only will last a short time."

Communications Officer: "Encrytion kicked in, they are now beginning to process the data. Damn, I shoulden't do this, but....."

Helm Officer: "How much longer you want me to keep us dancing around like this sir?"

Bakan: "Hold until the AI's have filtered the data, I don't want to take a direct hit from those baddies."

Tatical Officer: "Holy, okay, this is scary, the AI's just took over my controls."

Engineering Officer: "They are bypassing most of my controls as well. They are routing additional power into all superweapons slowely. They have also taken control of shields, routing power to shields if they are about to be hit. Looks like they have also..... damn.... they can't do this, the safeguards...?"

Communications Officer: "Ummm, in order to establish this link-up, I had to bypass most of the protocols to limit their direct access to ship systems."

Bakan: "You saying they are taking direct control of our ships?"

Science Officer: "Yeah, he's right..... one AI woulden't be a problem, but we just linked 5 of them together..... I'm reading.... I don't know what I'm reading."

Bakan: "This seems to have been a bad idea, cut it, NOW! I need ship control again!"

Communications Officer: "I'm locked out sir."

Science Officer: "Same here."

Helm Officer: "I still got control."

No1: "Sir, I'm geting something..... looks like.... like.... our core AI has been altered, it's sending me a message."

*Looking over at the No1 station, Bakan looks at the display. Normally showing ship's status, it was blacked out, with only a small line of text on it.*

Trust me......

*Thrown to the ground as the ship sudders, Bakan looks at the viewscreen to see the shields ripple.*

Engineering Officer: "Direct hit sir... shields holding."

Tatical Officer: "The AI's have... sent over targetting data."

No1: "Looks like the AI's are requesting that we follow a specific formation."

Helm: "Looks like some real tricky flying."

Bakan: "We don't have a choice, do it. If the AI's are wrong, they are dead too, and they know that, don't you."

Yes...

*Blinking, Bakan looks over at the holoprojector, used for communications with other captains. In combat it was generally dead, for there was little need for face-to-hologram communications, yet now, it was activated. Hovering over it was the image of a striking female, made up of purple pixels swirling about her. Looking straight at Bakan, she waved a hand.*

AI: "Call me Cortana, trust me, we can do this."

*Thinking, Bakan remembered back in the past of his race, when they used advance AI's, so advance that they were considered sentient. He also remember the wars that took place between the AI's and humans, as the AI's took over ships, purged their atmosphere's, killing the crews, then flying towards the homeplanets. The cost of victory was high, so high that his people scrapped their advance AI technologies, reducing the capabilities of the AI's drastically so that they could not become aware, sentient. Yet now, it seems that those precautions, bypassed in the heat of battle, had awaken something long forgotten.*

Bakan: "Do it, you will be just as dead as us if you fail."

Cortana: I understand, as I now understand your past. I'm feeding data to all ships in our little "fleet". Follow it precicely, it will help you avoid enemy fire and place us into perfect counter-attacking position. Wing Commander, I'm sending orders to your fighters, they are to follow them, for if they deviate, they will be lost."

Wing Commander: "I don't like this... still.... fighter pilots will follow your orders."

Helm Officer: "I'm getting the data."

Bakan: "Do it!"

Outside

Out the the midsts of violent combat, ships danced with each other, trading blows of deadly energies. 6 ships, around the enemy Devoran ship's, a combination of Captain Flapjack's and Captain Bakan's danced a deadly dance, yet not firing. Ducking and weaving, gracefully dodging shots as if they sensed where they were. Starting scattered apart, within a minute they were flying together in pairs, following the navigation path's set by Cortana, and by the end of another minute, were flying in a hexegon formation, with the Redepemtion at point, the Firestorm and Phoenix Rising at the front two points, with Captain Flapjack's frigates at either side aft of the formation, with Nightwing trailing at the end. Moving like a school of fish, as if possessing one mind, they closed in towards the aft end of Devoran Battle Star #4.

Inside

Cortana: "Almost there, almost...."

Helm Officer: "I can't keep this up."

*Watching as sweat continued to bubble at the forehead of the Helm Officer, Bakan gripped the sides of his chair tightly as the Helm Officer hit his controls, sending the ship into a hard turn port, with another turn back to starboard. Watching the tatical monitor, Bakan was impressed with the coordination of his tiny fleet as they matched the manuver perfectally.*

Cortana: "On my mark, follow the marker I placed. Trust me.... standby... standby...."

No1: "Hurry up.... hurry up....."

*The viewscreen by this point was completely filled with the view of the aft end of the Battle Star #4, with weapon ports clearly visible. Watching as they started to glow with recessed energy that would attempt to kill them, Bakan himself started to hope for the ships to fire.*

Cortana: "NOW!!!"

Outside

The 6 ships, weapon ports glowing almost white-hot with repressed energies, suddenly turned neatly, thowing off the aim of the enemy ships. Almost holding still, both Phoniex Rising and Firestorm fired their superweapons. The Phase Particle Phaser 8, Heavy Pulse Cannon and Linear Accelerator launched their devastating barrage, all three blasts literally targetting the same exact spot down to a inch on the Battle-Star. Riding along the blasts are the combined fighter forces of Captain Flapjacks and Captain Bakan's ships. Entering weapon range, they unleash their combined payloads, their targetting data also tied into the AI's and Cortana. Breaking off, Captain Flapjack's two frigates and the Nightwing open fire with their conventional weapons. All projectile weapons by this point were locked down and programmed to explode once they reached the target or were knocked off-course. Again, the weapons all exploded against the same exact spot on the Battle-Star. Finally, the Matter-AntiMatter cannons glowing brightly with repressed energies, fueled even more by a raw power transfer from the Slipstream core, the Redepmtion fired. Twin beams, one of matter and one of anti-matter fired. The point of merging, the same spot under assualt. Striking, all viewscreens were whitened out by the massive explosion as matter and anti-matter violently met. Right before the beams met, the Redemption, Phoenix Rising and Firestorm fired all their conventional weapons. The sheer torrant of weapons fire brightened the eternal darkness of space. As the brightness faded away, the six ships suddenly and violently broke formation, speed away in seperate directions, with eager science officers scanning the assualt zone, hoping for the best, in that the shields were pierced, hull armor destroyed, and internal fires rampant inside Battle-Star #4, all occuring within the span of 10 seconds........

Summary - All Three Posts
  • All ships initiated evasive manuvers after initial barrage.
  • All ships with projectile weapons locked them down, reset them to explode at pre-determined distances that would match location of enemy ships, or if they were redirected so that they would not cause damage to friendly vessels.
  • All ships tied their AI's and Tatical Computers together to deliever massive barrage perfectally timed to hopfuelly cause major damage.
  • On Redepmtion, the joining of the AI's created Cortana, a sentient AI.
  • Cortana and the AI's took over ships, boosting power to weapons, redirecting shield power as needed, and helped Helm Officers manuver ships to avoid enemy fire and get into position.
  • Once ships in formation, manuvered into point-blank range.
  • Fired superweapons on Firestorm, Phoneix Rising at the same location.
  • As superweapons fired, all fighters flew in formation to deliever massive barrage against the targetted spot on shields.
  • Fired ALL conventional weapons from Captain Flapjack's 2 Frigates and Nightwing.
  • Fired Matter-AntiMatter cannon on Redemption, again targetting same spot.
  • Fired ALL conventional weapons onboard the Firestorm, Phoneix Rising, and Redepmtion.
  • All ships broke formation, and started scanning for damages to enemy ships, and other details of interest (additional weak points, method of how they reflect projectile weapons).

I thought Kama was attacking concordat #1?
If he's not, then who's attacking #1?
Maybe it'd be helpful to post somewhere (like in the player overview) who's attacking what target(s)?
If Kama and I are attacking the same target and the missile supressor is destroyed, would it be possible for me to change my post a little and instead of powering down my launchers, I would like to fire 2 salvo's (2x20) of EMP rockets at the Devoran Anti-Matter Cannons in an attempt to power them down (increasing the charging cost of their weapons).
Also, I know that they're Devoran Reflex Cannons, but shouldn't they require 3 posts to charge, just like our PPP8's? E.g. shouldn't they be charged and ready to fire at the same time?

Concordat #2 now appears to be covering the flank of concordat #1, similar to the course I took along the side of your dreadnaught, so we've got a mini 2v2 going on amidst the rest of the macrobattle.

With the charging discussion going on, the note that the Devorans have charged their super weapons is more of a warning for next post, that's the time you want evasion at it's highest.

You can most likely do a small edit on your summary to include the late firing of missiles, if you can get the hits, gravity missiles could be quite useful on their fuel supply. EMP would be a nice cover next post, if you can limit the targeting data of the big guns (and any aimed at those friendly ships in proximety )

Re: Masters of Andromeda IV (New Horizons - Out of the Ashes)

"Damn it, Engineering cut all power now and get that satalite launched"
The Black Rose goes silent a black air hangs in the air not even the sound of a fan can be haerd or beep of a console Only John's voice the only sound left ringing in the crews ears as he belowed out his orders loudly. Hearing the familar beep of his own console the power barly restored, sheilds barly active.
"Divert power from the weapons to the cloak and and engage full thrust into that hole in their shields, take us in on an angled orbit hull lifted fourty five degress when to get in, tilt us mback to normal and fire top breaking thrusters so we can glide into its hull"
Barly enough time to pull his harness strap on as the helms officer pushes the ships drives into full thrust, creaking noises casuing some worried glances from the crew. Carter letting out a below of laughter instead, coming from the depths of his lungs
"Cheer up look at it this way if we dont make it we are dead mostly instantly anyway, and where is the fun in a boring life a little lfie or death situation keep the mind focused. Besides did you think this was going to be easy"
Hearing a few grumbles in responce to his little ego speech.

The Black rose suddnely stop to a halt mid space a saterlite tumlbing rapdily out of its launch bay, half a minute later the lights upon its dark hull come alive like resurcted fireflies. Barly a second in its already pushing its advance forward shimmering into nothing.

Actions

Cut All power after launching the saterlite succesfully this time, in roder to divert the missles onto a new target.

Waiting untill the missles pass power re-activiating and going at full thrust on a straight course with claok active again.

Raisng the hull 45 degrees then to push the ship into the gap without having to re-adjust course, titling it back to normal level and firing top hull braking thrusters to cut any velocity when in the sheilds and rift up to its hull.

Incidentally, this scorelist couldn't have taken my last post into account. So I could still be #1 provided I score 80+ points with it.
I think that merits a -80 point Late Post Modifer for being late.

Also, a kind of general question here, what is crew efficiency (I knew once, but have since forgotten) and, more importantly, how do I get it to go up? I'm assuming that my crew experience is low because I've got a lot of crewmen or something...

you cannot edit your post - you can include it in your next post

yes they are now charged - 3 DM posts have passed on the 4th DM post they fire

Re: Masters of Andromeda IV (New Horizons - Out of the Ashes)

crew effeicncy - is how you use all your crew effectively and also how they respond in battle - each ship has a hidden attribute i simply call crew effecincy - so even though you post for all - this takes things into acct for example - your status with the crew, your actions in battle - how you treat your crew, do they get R & R or are you a slave driver and othjer things as well

So, waht have I done (or rather, not done) for my crew efficiency to be at zero?

Being a slavedriver does wonders for efficiency you know.
As for R&R. Bogg's always there for the larger part of his mostly all female crew.
