Is that processor boxed? (does it come with a heatsink (altho I can remotely guess what H/S/F means, better be sure))
Perhaps you want to stick another heatsink on it (a better one, more silent one, make your pick (though you probably don't need a quieter CPU fan as your case will sound as a jet-engine already))

I also seem to miss the ordinary peripherals:
Floppy, CD-rom, keyboard, mouse, monitor

Though I guess you're going to use this as a server (no fancy GFX/soundcard etc etc) a CD-Rom and Floppy are occasionally handy for updating/installing things. If you want to make a router from it you might need a second network card too.

im stripping this pc for the CDRW, Dvd drive and the floppy and gfx card. (the mobo has nforce2 so it should help my lowly geforce4 mx440 a tad faster)

itll leave my old pc as a shell so i might even nab the hard drives as well...

giving me a total of 120gig space but id need to wipe the primary on this one clean so it might be better to just do a mass copy/paste across the machines...

still debating on what to do.
the 80gig WD will be the primary drive tho because its faster than my other two....

might just take the 30gig from this machine and put it in new one.

leaving the 10gig primary so it can still boot with standard onboard gfx card. (oh dear)

i might order the new cdrw/dvd/cdrom drive from LG (only bout 50 quid) and put that in the new one so it saves moving all the crap from this machine over...

OH THE CHOICES....

swap the gfx card onto the new one
get a new floppy drive
leave the 10gb on the old one and try linux, make it a router or whatever
get the dvd/cdrw/cdrom in one, much better than 2 sep drives

maybe you could find a retail CPU cheaper somewhere else... or even go for an AXP2000+, it should be quite cheaper at a very minor performance loss.

512MB memory should be far adequate for most users.
