right, after a silly comment, which was apparently not just used against me, but was actually used to neg rep 8 people, I have been fairly reliably informed that it was idi and have therefore decided to neg rep him
If you over the last few weeks have recieved neg rep with the comment 'neg repping you so i can pos rep androme - don't blame me, blame the system' i suggest that you too neg rep idi so that we can all be accused of rep bullying together

i'm a pretty mean person
but apart from anything else, this would never have happened if idi had pos repped people, but he didn't, he neg repped, and therefore deserves whats coming to him

Idi's perfectly allowed to do what the hell he likes with the system. So are you. But abusing the system to "punish" abusing the system doesn't really get us anywhere, does it? It's as bad as IMDB, where people rate mediocre films 10 because they don't think it deserves the 1's its getting, and the reverse occurs just as much.

I don't think that CrashTester should be anywhere near a positive rating, but people have seen fit to give it to him so I don't complain.

I do wish that neutral-reps (from shit people who can't actually change anything) showed up with a + or a - or some indication of what the intention was.

Another day - another problem with anonymous rep. Last night we had Yahwe refusing to contribute to a thread because of it and he was one of those who delighted in JJ ignoring public opinion.

Perhaps people should negrep those responsible for reputation being anonymous against the wishes of the majority of users. [/almost can't believe I just brought that up again ]

And can't we have the points required for "reputation beyond repute" doubled at least?

just for some of the comments that have been left for me, i don't care about getting neg repped, and i think that you will find that i have never retaliated against someone who has left me negative rep with a comment and signed it, as i take it like it is meant: constructive criticism, however, by neg repping to pos rep someone else, i think that idi was wrong, and therefore deserves to lose some rep so that he cannot affect other peoples rep for no apparent reason
(and, by extension, neg rep in general that is left with a reason but without signing it is just people being stupid and/or cowardly being afraid that they will be neg repped back and lose their rep)

I kind of like it how it is now - it means the total score is worthless (which I think is probably good) as anyone who wants 11 blobs or whatever it is could have probably got it by now. It'd be nice if there was some sort of repping system for real-life though. You could pos rep girls in the office if they came in wearing short skirts (without the unpleasant business of anonymous love letters with letters cut out of magazines and stuff).
