Most of the rivers in Cumbria are on flood watch atm. We've just had 2 days solid of rain as well.
After the localised flooding of last week, blamed on blocked drains, the council and local utilities company have got their fingers out after both sides realised that blaming eachother over whose fault it was made both look petty and it wasn't really helping anyone and finally cleaned most of them, some hadn't been done for years.
Luckily we have moved to an area of Carlisle a 2 mile away from the nearest river and on a hill so the worst we have had to contend with is washing we can't get dry but it is apparently due to rain for the next 5-6 days so if I go quiet, assume the power is off again and everyone else is flooded out.
Whats the 'in colour' for wellies this season anyone ?
