i have a question
why do people have to sleep?
i think it's ridiculous. sure, maybe you need some shit and that for your legs to recouperate and whatever muscle building **** might go on, but why is a reduced state of consciousness necessary?
"The function of REM sleep is uncertain but a lack of it impairs the ability to learn complex tasks. Functional paralysis from muscular atonia in REM may be necessary to protect organisms from self-damage through physically acting out scenes from the often-vivid dreams that occur during this stage."
i have a hypothesis but im sure one of you is an expert.

Re: i have a question
Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
I'm guessing that God made man sleep so we could dream so that it fulfils scripture

Re: i have a question
Actually, yes, the older you get, the less sleep you need.
(P.S. it's wildly optimistic of you to think you're going to find a bona fide sleep expert among the 3 people who read GD.)

So he gave them the coy little wave and realized it probably would have been more effective if he hadn't been lying on their turkey.

Re: i have a question
yes well but you see paisley's prophecy had it the wrong way around
old should sleep more young should whatever vision more
whats your point about bona fide sleep experts anyways
i think this is a very valid a question.
you can make the claim that babies need to grow shit but yeah why would you need to sleep to do that
and why do grannies sleep the least, less so than adults

Re: i have a question
I was only commenting on the likelihood of getting an answer from here that does more than provide evidence of Dunning-Kruger effect.
