planet naps are less destructive than galaxy naps as that drops the targeting power much more, but that said, doing it without the knowledge of your alliance and its agreement is pretty dumb as well.

YES.. there are alliances with no naps other than the ones they create policy out there .

hmm the only difference i see between the nap ND offers and the nap 1up offered, is that you were allowed to defend vs 1up planets iirc, but not launch on them, hence why it was so successful for 1up, because they could get alot of them, but then again i dont have the best memory

You were not permitted to defend in gal with 1up attacks. Doing so would have been in breach of the NAP and therefore it would have been cancelled. Out of gal defence of alliance members was fine.
