the Godfather series
i've watched them all now, Godfather on saturday. Godather II on sunday and surprisingly Gofather III today.
Now is it me or do these movies contain ****ty plots that make no sense whatsoever? I didn't know what the hell was going on in any of the films. In GI some drugs guy comes, eh says no. and from that they all try and kill each other for some reason. In GII I didn't know what was going on at all. and in GIII he tried to buy a company that the Vatican controlled, and then the pope was killed and al pacino had several attempts on his life, but for the life of me i don't know why.
apart from that the films were cool, especially when al gets angry and now i want to join the mafia because i like cool suits.

If you listen to the dialog, they explain what's going on.

That's discriminatory against deaf people, and stupid people as well.

The plot is complicated largely due to the short space of time into which its compressed, yes, but it does make sense.

The godfather series...
... was a magnificent accomplishment in terms of cinematic history, but has unfortunately been one of many things that inspired thousands of people to get the wrong idea about gangs, and gangsters being cool.
Its sad people dont know where to draw the line between fantasy and reality.

The first was great.
The second was utterly, utterly ****e.
The third was slightly better than the second.
Well that's what I reckon anyway.

Which is going against common opinion, which has the 2nd as the best film of all time, or thereabouts.
That's informed comon opinion, not people who vote for Star Wars or the like.

I watched Godfather I on Saturday night and was going to watch part II last night but couldn't be bothered since it is even longer than the first. Spooky!
I've seen part II and III before but I can't remember them very well. The original is basically your typical 70s movie, really long and not much happens. Other good examples are Taxi Driver and The Shining (even though that one was made in 1980).
I'm not saying that Godfather is a bad movie, just that it's a typical 70s movie.

My personal favorite is the first, but I liked the second one as well. The third one was not good. It is however, a very good example of why nepotism is bad. (lo sophia)
