And just a wee nipper in Primary School. What "phases" did your school go through in terms of playground activities.
In my school we went through a Pog phase, then Yo-yos, then Decks of cards, and finally Zippo lighters

My favorite was dinner vouchers, poor kids get dinner tickets so they have free lunches. You find a stupid one and buy a weeks worth off vouchers for a pound. That meant free lunches and cash to spend on any of the above phases.

I don't understand your weird English school system, but in the years that passed when I was in the 1st to 6th grade, I only pretty much remember playing some marble game that I was kind of good at, and fighting a lot.
Other than that, I didn't have much playground activities.
