about quests
I don't know how they will work but I'd like to suggest that each quest can have different outcomes (picked randomly among 3 or 4 options).
Ofc the outcomes should be all positive but at least it would prevent having the list of all the quest and their results on IRC early on (that would kill all the fun)

In the rounds they were used, they worked as a tutorial:
send a fleet to 1:1:1
initiate 3 roids
research hull 1
...
I hope there will be some more adventurous quests in addition this time, if only to keep people interested later in the round.
I'm waiting for the post from Appoccomaster to launch the "quest suggestion competition"

It was pretty basic mz, like Makhil explained.

You'd do something simple like post on the galaxy forum, and get 5k of each resource, or 2 of each roid.

It would start off small, and increase as you went. I think the last one gave you 15 of each roid or something, but there were less than a dozen quests.

At the least there will be enough to guide a planet to start a fleet - e.g. get HCT I & Res Lab, initiate asteroids, set gc vote, post on forums, apply for alliance, get hulls 1, light factory, defend gal mates, etc. It's been coded to support multiple quests that can be made pretty easily, though the setup could be improved a bit.
