[Music] Trying to find a song
While on holiday a few weeks ago a tv was playing one of the popular UK music channels. I heard a song that seemed to sample Massive Attack's Teardrop. Might have been Kate Nash, but it doesn't seem to have been.
So can someone help - it's driving me insane.

Re: [Music] Trying to find a song
I cant help but feel I've heard the same song before also.. but if it helps the song was covered by Elbow according to The Covers Project.
Its also been used in many TV shows including a instrumental version on House theme song.

Nope, I think it was on The Box if that's any help to anyone. I know the origins of the song and its usage on TV, but this song that seems to have sampled it is really bugging me

As an aside, there is a website that tells you if a bands album is released on a major label or not, anyone know the site?

Re: [Music] Trying to find a song
When in situations like this one, jot down part of the lyrics, then google them. Of course this doesn't help you with this song (unless you remember the lyrics to it!), but who knows what it may do for you in the future.

Re: [Music] Trying to find a song
Well i like missions like this but this is a tricky one. After Searching the box playlist for last ew weeks and goin on the fact u said it was a female singer the closest i could come up with was that mixed race one from the sugabaes new song. I also took into account u said it sounded like as massive attack cover. If it is 100% a massive attack cover then im wrong as this just sunds familiar.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-GC-4XUjM8M
But if this is the case and is the song u like u really need a spanner slap sooner rather than later...

Wasn't this was it? Scroll down to the second one and have a read. It's a mashup mix with Massive Attack's Teardrop as one half of it.

Re: [Music] Trying to find a song
Never mind, having just reread your post you mention a girl singer, so it's not this one.
Apologies.

Re: [Music] Trying to find a song
You could go here and have a run through of their playlist.

http://www.riaaradar.com/ isn't exactly what you want, but it'll do. the lines between independent and major labels are hilariously blurred most of the time anyways (imprints, distribution deals etc.

Re: [Music] Trying to find a song
It wasn't Mutya or that mash-up, but thanks to both of you for trying. ASG - I tried their website, but naturally their playlist updates on a regular basis. I don't think it's there anymore.

Re: [Music] Trying to find a song
I found the answer. It was Kate Nash - Foundations, I hadn't listened to the end of it properly. The Massive Attack sample starts at about 2:45 in, the song then lasts for another minute.
