Re: Giant Squid finally photographed, 59 feet (18 meters)
So, because people "bottom trawl" , and killing the squid eggs, the sperm whale starves, so there's a major problem. How about stop deep sea fishing? wow, I should be a conservationist.

The giant squid is by no means the largest known. Several other species, including the colossal squid Mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni, are thought to grow larger.

I love how inventive they must have been.
"We've found a big squid. What shall we call it?"
"The giant squid"
"Wow...inventive name."
.....
"We've found an EVEN BIGGER SQUID than the "giant squid". What do we call it?"
"How about the colossal squid?"
"Brilliant!"

Re: Giant Squid finally photographed, 59 feet (18 meters)
Well it seems the ****ing thing is growing by eachnews report.
CNN report the thing was 8metres. Then I watch Sky News and they say it was 10 metres. Now you're quoting news reports saying it was a rediculous 18 metres....
Since CNN were the first western (non japaniese language) news agency to break the story, I'd tend to side with them.
CNN
