Speed Skating on TV is good as long as it's some important event - Olympics, European/World Championships. I don't particularly care much for all those qualifiers.
As for the Elfstedentocht, I highly doubt we'll have one this year, although temperatures are dropping reasonably fast, and we've still got January as well. Would be nice to have another one though

No way our dykes would break, Dutch are the most 1337 dyke builders in the world, we even constructed that new airport in sea in Asia (dunno where exactly).
Our afsluitdijk is even so 1337 that the germans couldn't cross it until they bombed Rotterdam and the Dutch were forced to surrender.
And about that global warming, I think it's fking cold atm, but not cold enough for the 11 stedentocht.

Thursday we will reach zero degrees for a long period(5/7 days) at least. Maybe if it stays longer we can have the "elfstedentocht". But think it's best to ask Piet Paulusma.
