Sky digital (help me)
basically for the last 18 hours my sky digital box has been saying "no signal is being recieved" the satelite hasnt been moved, all wires are in correctly, my friend who lives 5 miles away says he can get a signal
so please help me advice on how to fix it would be appreciated

no it has holes in it like a seive the **** would go through it plus it would be hard given the angle of the disc

ours here is the same, we have 2 boxes, one has lots of "no signal" channels, the other gets all the channels no problem. They both run off the same dish, so Id suspect that somethings up with the decoder.
actually, try unplugging the thing from the wall for about 5 minutes and then turning it back on, that works sometimes

have done so, but impatience meant it was only unplugged for about a minute, i ve contacted sky but the lazy ****ers wont reply

it does that when it's too cold/cloudy/rainy/whatever.
It's quite a sensitive piece of kit.

Give Sky customer support a call and theyll explain the "Total Reset" , which should rectify the problem.
And if it doesnt , i agree , youre screwed.

have u actually tried the turning off, disconnecting stuff, waiting 15 mins and then reconnecting it all?
it's what we've had to do before when there's been a storm and it's stopped workin
