Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Was just on Channel 4 tonight. I have to say, I think it was the funniest film I've seen for a fair while
look here here if you want more information on it. Or just go and rent it from somewhere and see for yourself

The best bits are when he notices himself.

I never thought of it as a comedy. Not really funny watching a broken man drink himself to death. Although that scene where he's drinking and driving while the bike cop is next to him is classic.

Fear & Loathing had a lesson about the psychology of a highway policeman though
The movie is one of the best - i wouldnt watch it on TV though as (at least german TV) heavily censors movies like that.

Re: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
I saw it for the first time last night, which is pretty unnacceptable as things go I suppose.
Still, very very good, and very very funny. I found the start to be better though, perhaps I just got tired of the performance after a while.
And Alki, I had nothing but coffee last night, but i recorded it! \o/

It's a great book too, well worth a read.
This is the kind of movie Depp should be regarded for. Not that Pirates of the Carribean tosh.

Quality film, great acting. Worth buying. It's only £9.99 in HMV.
the book is also great. It's only £3.99 in HMV.

It starts out quite humourous, and then goes into a serious "thing" about the death of the american dream.

So I went to bed like 2/3 through the movie. Woke up next day and bought the DVD.

I've never actually seen it, but it's one of those films you think you really should watch at some point.

Re: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
I was mildly disappointed. I don't know why, the film was just too notorious that by the point I saw it I felt let down slightly. It does portray some of the manic hilarity that some drugs induce, and it is very funny at times, but most of the time I just found it strange.
Depp is very good in it, although I didn't really like Del Torro (either his performance or his character).
