Anyway, any chance of knowing how that last bit (back in post #162) went before I write any more orders?

Three questions....
How far are you planning on advancing?
Do you take prisoners and what would you do with them if you did?
Capture, Pillage, or Raze?

Re: Dawning Empires
Since southern Darmania is nominally part of Aescia (at least from an internal Heliosian point of view) the primary aim is to return that part of the country to Aescian control, a secondary goal being to ensure the barbarians from the Darmanian north do not invade again. So the ultimate objective of this invasion is currently to control up to the border with the lime greenness of PKland (sorry, can't remember the country's name).
No rape pillage or plunder, the peasantry aren't our enemies after all, considering the nature of the attacks so far I'm not expecting to take any prisoners, so haven't made any arrangements to cope with them. Any that are taken we will attempt to cope with in as humane manner as possible.
However; while killing "prisoners of war" (not that we use that term since this is a purely internal affair; liberating our fellows from this barbarian invasion.) is rather uncivilised, the law in this country is decided jointly between God (i.e. the church), the Land (i.e. the duke/duchess running the land), and the Empire (i.e. the emperor). Since a 'very highly ranking member of the church' and the emperor are tagging along on the invasion that is being commanded by the Duchess in question, they can always decide that being on the wrong side is a capital crime if needs be.

Re: Dawning Empires
Attention strategy monkeys.
I can either revive Dawning Empires, or, I can revive Planet Wars (having discovered that the other forum is still there). This thread seems as good as any in which to conduct a minor preference vote, so go ahead.

Re: Dawning Empires
Dawning empires. Planet wars was fun, but it's to hard to orginize and all. Dawning empires seems to be building to something interesting and all, and would be a little easier on the DM, you.

Whichever is picked, can we please carry on from where we were up to? We've started again so many times that we never seem to properly get going

Re: Dawning Empires
Regardless of which one I do choose to continue with, we will be carrying on from where we left off rather than restarting again.

don't do either, you know you'll leave again so there's no point.

Re: Dawning Empires
THAT IS...probably true
But, nonetheless, it's worth a try. I finally figured out how to assemble a working database/spreadsheet combination with this cheap Microsoft knock-off software suite installed on my computer, which would certainly make the mathmatical aspects of both games easier to manage,

Soon I will be Empress
Terra power will soon go away
I will be ruler of the world one day
I will command all of you
