Re: Onslaught: Tides of Revenge

Heiro, i'm not being overconfident, i'm being fairly certain of my self.

it probably has something to do with me designing my ships with firepower and stealth in mind, so that they could sneak up to someone and show him why you need phase scanners running all the time, then taking the easy mission so i can practice my ship and my crew and get enough cash for my third ship.

I'd rather not have to waste half my income on repairs

luckily, my mission is to RECON the Deneb system, if i get so much as a suspicion there is something big around, i'll personally hit the slipstream drives and get me the hell out of there.

Not to mention that if there's something big out there, i'll know before it knows i'm there, i'll be jumping into the system under cloak

oh and please, don't throw Goa'uld super-motherships at me, everybody knows those things will explode violently when even scratched in the hangar bay

Re: Onslaught: Tides of Revenge

Wo2; hope I'm drunker than Bakan when I worked this out...

You have overrun by 2 troop slots in addition to the 250 credit overdraft.
On the contrary to your ship being "sparse" with 67 slots left, you've got 33, 20 of which are for fighters and shuttles, 4 are shields and 9 additional.
Also you haven't got 63449 power spare, but 57449.

Lucky for you Bakan okayed it before looking at it.

Hush... He's not supposed to know. And thanks for poniting that out... I was sitting here with only notepad and the built in caculator on my compy. My other compy has a spread sheet wihch I could have used but i was down at the time. I shall make some brief changes, on the bright side, after getting rid of some troops I won't be in debt anymore.

Is that a challenge?

Cause if so, guess who you get to play with.

And no, it's not the same ones you are thinking about.

Technically our mission is to recon earth. But you don't get paid for going back and saying "I think there might be something big there... maybe."

Admiral: "Since you all have selected your missions, go to your ships. They have been fully fueled and are at 100% status. However, since training can only do so much, your crews are all still green. These missions will both break your crews in, your ships in, and most imporantly, set the first stage into place for our counter-attack against the Swarm. Man you ships, and head off to your designated systems. Your FTL drives will be fully operational once you have cleared the nebula. Once you have cleared, you must jump to your target. Good luck"

[ooc] I'm tired..... to tired...... basically missions start, jump to your target system...... I'll DM once you arrive. [/ooc]

Pansy.

"Thank you Admiral"

Pressing a selection of keys on the dashboard, Heiro smiles.

"This might be fun...Computer, engage drives, and take us out."

The ship itself glides out from the dock and hangs in space, before the rear of the ship lights up and the gravimetric drives kick in and the ship begins to move forward. 200m away on the bridge, Heiro looks at his bridge staff, at the new leather chairs, and the diagram of the ships vastly overhauled Warbird. Replacing its phaser arrays with large multi-faceted shield generators, The ship was then fitted out with an AI system and vast array of Holo-emitters. The full crew compliment of 50, 25 of which are medics, 10 of which are engineers, and the rest of whom are bridge staff sit comfortably in there stations, as the ship speeds further off into the blackness of space.

"Hold us steady, Wait for the others who are travelling with us."
"Aye sir."

[ooc] Yep, i asked bakan, and i fitted a free AI comp and some holo-emitters instead of phasers [ooc]

Re: Onslaught: Tides of Revenge

*Flapjack quickly takes his place at the helm console, the Tactical officer setting himself in just behind and to the right of him while his navigator/combat coordinator/flight controller took his seat to Flapjack's left, in the back of the small craft Flapjack noticed the engineer sitting down at his consoles as well, 2 other people in the cramped engine room where there to monitor and control the drives while the 6 gunners took their positions throughout the ship, 1 gunners forward, 1 up, 2 down, 1 starboard and 1 port, manning the 5 phasers and the machine turret (phasers all around, machinegun turret bottom arc, 360), the tactical officer quickly ran over the shield and hull status before transferring control of the twin forward Quad pulse phasers to Flapjack and readying the missile launchers and Pulsar torpedoes, a few moments the Golden sword had cleared the spacedock and was racing for the edge of the nebula at full sub-light speed, the Skylight following similar procedures, tough only have 4 gunners (phaser up, starboard and port, machinegun turret bottom arc) and having twin Pulsar torpedoes. Within 30 seconds the 2 ships flew side by side at a mere 50 meters apart when both cleared the nebula field and activated their Slipstream drive and slipped into deep subspace, both would activate their cloaking device just before emerging from slipstream*

ooc/ luckily, i only have 22 people under my command, 12 on my ship, 10 on the other, there isn't a real captain on these ships because they where built to be small, the person at the helm is therefore the captain, since he has most time to spare and the best look at things as they're happening, I intend to name all my crewmembers when i get the time

oh and it wasn't a challenge, it was just mentioning the obvious, i don't intend to fight just yet /ooc

Re: Onslaught: Tides of Revenge

Earth.

None of the crew had ever been there; there couldn’t have been more than a score atoms between them that remembered that planet. Yet on some instinctive level they were drawn to return. Seeing their ancestral home, the planet from which their species had been forced to run, and the planet they were now fighting to reclaim. That was why they had accepted this mission, suicidal though it may at first seem. A chance for some to see this planet they had been told stories of, some to see what they were aiming to achieve, and some just to see what all the fuss is about. Whatever reason they had for taking on this mission however, their return was, at the very best, unlikely.

The crew, busy running through the last system checks, didn’t have time to worry; the ship itself didn’t have the capability. Captain Richard Draçir however, had both and was using them to the full. The view from his window was unlike any to be seen in normal space, the bright assortment of colours in the nebula turning the blackness of space into a madman’s rainbow stretching all around. Of course Richard was used to it, deep inside the nebula where he had been born there was no such thing as a dark night.

“Sir?”

“Yes…” Richard began realising he did not remember the girl’s rank, he turned to the bright strip of light flowing in through the door, waiting a moment for his eyes to readjust his eyes flicked down to the rank insignia on her collar. “Lieutenant?”

“Control has given us clearance to depart, you’re needed on the bridge.”

“Why didn’t someone just call me…” he trails off and glances guiltily at the communication panel on the wall, or rather the missing panel.

“I’ll send someone to look at that sir.” The lieutenant says with a scarcely concealed smile at her commander’s obvious embarrassment and steps to one side.

“Thank you.”

Richard stepped out into the corridor and started off along it, momentarily he pauses at a t-junction and looks both ways before heading back the way he came, thankfully the young lieutenant has since departed. A few metres further on Richard turns right, stops, leans back out round the corner and reverses into the main corridor, turns left and goes along a corridor almost identical to the one he just came out of. Confident now that he is in the right place he goes to the turbolift door on the side of the corridor and taps the entry button. Moments later it opens on a striking young lady half way through putting on her uniform jacket.

“This is not the turbolift.” Richard says awkwardly after a couple of seconds.

“I noticed that myself.” She replies straightening her collar out; a lieutenant commander from the gold flashes. “Third door on the left.” Richard looks back out along the corridor in both directions.

“Your left or mine?”

“Follow me sir.” She replies and goes past him into the corridor, turns right, then takes the third door on the left straight into the turbolift. Richard follows her in and asks for the bridge. Seconds later he emerges into the ship’s command centre and proceeds down to his chair, a slight flicker of surprise going through his mind as his turbolift companion sits down at the tactical station.

“All systems ready?” He asks as he sits down.

“Yes sir; main reactors check out and are holding at five percent output, auxiliary reactor on standby. All decks report ready.”

“Commence disconnect.”

The transfer from external to internal power is seamless, the generators taking over from the power feed as over the next few seconds it drops to zero. The airlock connecting the ship to the station cycles shut and depressurises, seals locking into place. Finally the physical clamps disengage, releasing the vessel; a low power tractor beam gently pushing her down away from the pylon.

“Disconnect complete.”

“Set drives forward one third, seven degree dive angle until we clear the station perimeter.”

Without a wisp of exhaust the ship angles itself slightly downward and accelerates directly away from the station, even at only one third the ship rushes away from the habitat. As he watches the outer stations go by Richard realises why these new gravimetric drives are worth the extra cost of fitting them; a fusion drive at this acceleration would already be sounding manifold overpressure warnings, and incidentally would have melted a shaft through the station.

“We have cleared the station perimeter.”

“Level off and bring the engines to maximum cruise.”

“Picking up another ship on the nebula outskirts, name isn’t in the registry but it’s one of ours.”

“Bring us alongside and wait for the third ship in our little recon force.”

Re: Onslaught: Tides of Revenge

Okay people, the missions have NOW STARTED!!!!

The way it works: I post your current environment. You each get a post before the next round of DM's. I strongly encourage your to coordinate your posts.

Each post will be graded on a scale of 1 - 10, with 1 being the worst, 5 average, 10... WHOA!!! These post grades will determine your score and your rank. The following Ranks are what you can reach.

Ranks
50 - Fleet Captain
100 - Commodore
150 - Rear Admiral
200 - Fleet Admiral
250 - Admiral
300 - Grand Admiral

Now, your actions are NOT restricted to your ships and the enemy. As in, you can do something completly off the wall that somehow completes your missions, and if you pull this off with a post grade of 8 or higher, it will be allowed. It is possible to destroy a enemy ship without firing a single weapon at them if your post is high enough.

Your crew status shows you adapt your crew it. Green means they are fresh from the academy, with no pratical experiance. As you progress, your crews will get better. Training them will help you, and save you i the event you make a sub-par post.

Well.... that's all. Good luck.... you need it.

Re: Onslaught: Tides of Revenge

ok, short version:

We should coordinate our attack, so I'm going to go for the skippers, while ND disables the cargo ships then flies support. Wo2, would you mind taking the devourers? It also seems like a sensible plan to save our superweapon fire for the station.

Re: Onslaught: Tides of Revenge

Whoops:

Bio-Organic Hulls = They instantly heal from damages, requiring insane amounts of firepower to cripple.

Singularity Shields = Theses create a mini-black hole that abosrbes all weapons fire. They can be overloaded by sustained weapons fire, or since a ship can only make one, redircting fire to the other side will bypass the shield.

flapjack is infamous around these parts
Re: Onslaught: Tides of Revenge

ooc/ why, i wonder, i don't have a science, i don't have a communications and i sure as hell don't have a No1 (i don't even have a proper capt/helms officer, which are 1 person), i did say this before /ooc

*Flapjack held tightly as the ships dropped out of slipstream, he knew the dropping out could get violent, they couldn't afford slowly dropping out and leaving a massive subspace spike to tell everyone they came in, but he hadn't been counting on this kind of a really rough exit*

me: "get a comm channel to the Skylight, directed subspace, secured channel, fast, and you if can't do that without us showing up on sensors, prepare the docking clamps, boomer, get me a tactical on those hostiles, fast, fixman, prepare to boost weapons directly out of the slipstream drive."

Boomer: "neither the mothership nor the asteroid station are any major threat, we can take them both out in 1 go sir, right now they're close enough together but we have to coordinate it sir, the pulse phasers from both ships into the mothership, the phasers and pulsars of the skylight and our pulsars and bottom phaser and machinegun turret into the station and we'll have them both, we can fire the remaining phasers and machinegun turret into the fighters to fend them off, i can also launch our AF missiles."

Fixman: "Ready to divert power into weapons, but it doesn't look like we'll need it sir."

Theodore/nav: "No use on the comm channels sir, even subspace is being jammed, we can send but they'll know, docking systems are ready, cloaking system is ready to join up with the Skylight's."

Me: "very well, docking procedures started, docking."

*Flapjack slowly pulled the 2 invisible ships together, the docking going completely seamless as the 2 vessels slowly penetrated eachother's cloaking fields and adjusted, less then 30 seconds later the 2 captains where talking to eachother, a few minutes later the 2 undocked and head in towards the mothership and asteroid station at low sub-light speed*

*2 uneventfull hours later the 2 ships, still cloaked and unnoticed, moved into positions, their weapons charged and their drives at full power, shield generators charged and ready to go the moment they would decloak and that moment was coming closer by the second*

*At exactly 12:04:03 both ships accelerated to full speed, only a few hundred meters apart, then at exactly 12:04:05 both ships decloaked, only to follow up with a barrage of pulse phaser fire onto the totally surprised Goa'uld mothership, the 16 high power pulses almost instantly slammed through the Goa'uld's shields and ripped the ship apart, a mere moment later 3 pulsar torpedoes streaked out from the 2 strike corvettes, closely followed by 4 phaser V and 1 machinegun turret volley, breaking the asteroid station into pieces within moments and leaving them no chance to evacuate or send emergency signals, the remaining 2 AF missile launchers and 4 phaser V turrets on the Golden sword unleashed their fury into the fighters, which by now where beginning to turn and got wiped out in moments, the phasers firing in shoort pulses and each taking down 20 fighters, while the 2 missile launchers each took care of 2 deathgliders with a volley of missile fire, at 12:04:10 the fight was over, debris scattered across several hundreds of kilometers as the 2 ships had struck out of the black and vaporised a small Goa'uld mining station*

Boomer: "Oh yes, that went nice and smooth, scans indicate nothing more then debris and some pieces of those ships, there's plenty of salvage we should get our hands on sir."

Theodore: "Finishing high power scans of the system, this appears to be all there is, once we get the salvage we should make a close scan of every planet before we leave though, we might find something interesting to salvage."

Me: "Very well, the Skylight will remain here and salvage whatever they think is salvageable, we will make a close scan of every planet and retrieve any objects of value before we jump out together."

*Both ships then went their seperate ways, the Golden Sword went to scan the planets while the Skylight went across the debris and salvaged anything that was useable*

Re: Onslaught: Tides of Revenge

“Six of them, three of us.” The helmsman observes. “Think we should give them a head start?”

“This isn’t a race lieutenant it’s a battle, and in the firepower area that fleet has us nailed. Speed is always good however. Ahead four thirds, and yes you did hear that right. ”

Space around the Chimera distorts as the gravimetric field builds in power, hurling the vessel towards the Gould motherships like a monodirectional black hole. The graviton emitters under the hull glow a soft blue, rising in brightness as the field strength grows. To the motherships the drive would appear as a bright flare of brilliant blue, to an observer behind it would slip down the spectrum into a dull red. Time dilation starts to come into play shortly before the engines cut off and reverse momentarily, slowing the ship abruptly to a more reasonable speed.

“Clear ether, temporal drift corrected, reading multiple hostile sensors in acquisition mode.”

“Prepare to fire assault cannon, designate targets for turrets as required.”

The capacitor grids in the phaser cannon discharge through their tanks of liquid hydrogen instantly converting the mass into plasma. The expanding ionised gas forces itself from the reaction vessels into the central chamber where a fluctuating barrage of energy pushes the plasma into waves rippling along the axis of the confinement field. After a brief second or two the plasma pumps out into the prefire chamber, passing through a sequence of constrictors and alignment gates. The rapid pulses of high-energy plasma are focused down into the emitter crystal.

Nanoseconds later the first beam lashes out, punching into the nearest mothership’s shield grid, the impact spreading out across the rapidly draining globe of force as shield generator after generator dies in the onslaught. Almost before the first beam cuts off another sears out from the opposite side of the ship, tearing a deep gash in a second ship’s shields while the Chimera’s pulse phasers peal away the remains of the first ship’s shields. The fire from the turrets blasts through into the hull, ripping open a wide hole in the ship’s armour just in time for a single quantum torpedo to thread it’s way deep into the large vessel’s interior.

Meanwhile the second vessel has come under the attention of the quad pulse phasers on the opposite side of the ship, flaying the few vestiges of shielding away and punching a rapid series of holes through the carapace. Something inside the vessel ruptures under the assault, billowing clouds of vapour into space; the thickening mist spreads along the hull.

The Chimera ploughs into the retreating edge of the gas, a dull thud coming from the starboard launcher as a torpedo ejects, detonating a scant hundred metres behind the speeding ship. The cloud bursts into a hellish conflagration, the heat melting away at the crippled vessel as more vapour leaks out into space and burns, sucking oxygen out of the ruptured hull.

Even as she erupts from the far side of the burning fog, her shields glowing as they take in power from the blistering heat around them., the second pair of phaser cannon strike out. One impacts head on with the third mothership even as the forward pair of phaser turrets skim across its shields and a quantum torpedo spits from the central launcher, careening into the already hard-pressed shields. The protective bubble dissolves under the insistent barrage and the last fraction of the phaser strike bores through the hull armour, vaporising a thick cylinder through the centre of the vessel.

The last beam hits its target a moment later, the fourth Gou’uld craft’s shield envelope billowing with variegated sheathes of light as it struggles to hold back the vast torrent of power. Even when the last pulse turret blazes out its contribution to the assault the bubble holds rigid against the attack as the vast bulk of the Gou’uld mothership turns towards them, her numerous cannon already beginning to glow.

“I think we may have got their attention sir.”

Heiro is on a distinguished road
Re: Onslaught: Tides of Revenge

“Did you ever get around to naming this ship?”
“Wha…”
Heiro pauses. Suddenly it comes back to him.
“Why no, thank you ensign.”
Bah, they keep getting smarter, Or at least more annoying.

The Chimera slows significantly to come to a stop a considerable distance away from what is called ‘formation’ flying with a shieldship. The ripples in the nebulas dusty purple smoke wash against the hull and begin to cascade across the viewers large camera arch to the hard left of the bridge section.

“God damn space hogs” Heiro mutters under his breath.

Walking over to his personal console, Heiro deactivates the main viewer, and jiggles the joystick to the buttons left. Within a matter of moments, the screen itself has lowered to reveal a large force field protected expanse, only slightly larger than the viewer itself. Watching the stunned ensign’s face, he turns around and turns on the lights around the ‘window’. Just like on star trek…

“Wasn’t that a waste of money? Sir?!”
“Why, yes it was. But we had a fair budget to begin with.”
100000 galactic credits, give or take the bonuses from the admirals station.
“Thank you for that bit of information Pandora.”
You are most welcome, Heiro.
AI these days can’t take them anywhere.
“Please take your seat ensign, I’m sure after that last comment, you will love your job.”
“Oh, I’m sure I will, ive got technical degrees in both quantum mechanics and pure mathematics, when I applied they said I would really love what I’m going to do.”
Mental note, she doesn’t understand sarcasm in the slightest.

The ensign, Helen Stein, IQ 200, according to her lapel pin badge, walks slowly and sexily across the deckplates of the overly well furnished bridge, pulling her short skirt down as she goes. Reaching her seat some seconds later, Heiro almost groans in a state of perpetual agonizing pleasure as she bends over to read the small type label on the console.
And she isn’t the captain?!
A brief second passes as he thinks to himself...
She could have been anything she liked with that as…
“SPECIAL EFFECTS OFFICER!”

Storming back across the deck leaning forward at an angle nearing 30 degrees to the vertical, she steps into what could be considered: personal space. Before even thinking, Heiro takes note of her body language. Especially her fuming ears, tremendously red face, and clenched fists.
I swear, her head wasn’t that big before she got angry…
Suddenly she begins the next stage of her outburst, right as Heiro’s mouth opened with a sensible reply.
“THAT IS NOT… I mean…”
Calming herself, she trys again
“Not acceptable for someone of my abilities. I have an IQ of 200, that’s the same as 3 PE teachers’ or 6 Car parking attendants. I’ve got unsurpassed knowledge of Quantum mechanics and pure mathematics in a 0g environment. I’m sure I qualify. For something a little… more challenging? I mean what can you do? I saw you ogling me, and yes, I’m stunning too! But I expect you’re not smart, and you’re definitely not handsome by any means… How did you get this job by the way?”
Heiro blinks. Wow… ok… Insane…
“Finished yet?”
“Er… that’s about it, Yeah.”
“Good.”
“Good? Is that all you have to say?”
“No, its not but what I’d like to say and what I can say are two totally different things.”
Her eyes flutter.
“Over dinner?”
“You’re on.”

“Care to turn on the holo-emitters, Helen?”
“Ms. Stein.”
“Ensign”
“Argh! Men!”
Helen reads the panel’s multitude of dials, switches and other buttons. The flashing lights blaze on and off, and her hands hover over a pair of switches, one labeled inner, and one labeled outer.
“Do you want the Inner or Outer?”
“Both please.”
Flicking the inner switch down, it beeps for a second before a loud hiss fills the room. From under each station, chair and rail, smoke filters up, pumping out a small layer around 8 inches around the floor.
“God damn it! That’s the dry ice!”
“Well, you need a bloody degree in quantum physics just to read this bloody panel!”
“Stop complaining!”
Helen sighs, pressing the second set of switches labeled inner and outer, and the lights with the holo-emitter tags light up, and a 6ft tall woman materializes naked standing looking at Heiro, the guard rail between him and her blocking out everything he wants to see.
I thought you programmed some clothes *this* time Heiro!
“I’m sorry Pandora…”
Heiro really wishes he’d had the rail raised that three quaters of an inch.
“…I forgot completely!”
Yes, of course you did. Clothes!
As she stands up, her figure shimmers for a moment, before a flowing black dress materializes across her frame, along with supporting logo sewn onto the lapel.
“Very… nice.”
Tasteful, thank you.
“Right lets do some work…”
“But!”
“…open a channel to the Chimera, Ms. Hayridge.”
“Aye, open sir”
“This is Captain Ro of Pandora’s Box, We can provide safety and shelter from enemy fire, along with any medical assistance you may need once we reach combat. However, you must fly within 100m or so of our hull for the protection to work, do you understand?”
Heiro signals the closure of the channel.
Earth. What a shithole.
I’ve not been there since… 349 years previous.
Why the hell did I get involved in this? I have to take crap from people young enough to be children. They probably aren’t far short, let’s be honest.
Ah well. I did swear an oath.
Plus, that ensign… she has got a nice ass…

“Set a course for our jump, once our last member has arrived, take us out of the system.”
“Aye sir”

2 minutes later.

“Holy…What happened, where is this?!”
“We’re in an uncharted sector”
“Get the admiralty on Comm. now!”
“Aye sir, connected.”
“God damn admiral Bakan for force jumping us in before our in-space-credit-title-sequence-was-finished!”

The comm. buzzes with action. (ooc: oh, and he really did say this)
“God damn Heiro! If I could see you, I would slap you!” (ooc: Ok, so it was kinda paraphrased… but hell call it artistic licence)
“that’s good, close comm. now.”
“er… aye sir.”

1 minute 20 seconds earlier.

“We’re being force jumped to warp sir”
Ain’t that a bitch. I take it the admiralty doesn’t really like you?
“Nah, they love me”
Yeah, about as much as I love you no doubt.
“You love me! Yay!!”
Damn…
“That could be called leading him on” pipes up the ensign.

The ship shakes as it breaks the warp barrier, the crew momentarily shaken on their feet. The stars in front of them are beginning to whiz blue-white across the window space, as the captain hops over the rail and slides down into his seat. Landing quite heavily, most of the bridge crew turns to look at him. Going a bit red, Heiro smiles, one of those large, pinball smiles, to show his age and maturity. Tapping his hands on the console, he looks at the buttons he has on offer. The one entitled; Ejector Seat begins to worry him. Looking back at the main viewer, he becomes distracted by Pandora, his ‘wandering’ AI.
Yes?
“Er… nothing.”
You were staring at my pixels again!
“I was not!”
Fine, just as long as you don’t use that excuse about my belly being horribly pixilated and magenta next time we’re alone…
“I did no such thing!”
The SFX officer half supresses her giggle, before biting down on her tongue.
I’ve got logs. I’m not the ships AI with an IQ of 1200 for no good reason you know…
The engineer sitting at the station next to the helm stands up and looks rather cross.
“Can you newlyweds shut up; sensors pick up a disturbance in the space-time continuum”
I know, I was coming to that…
“Wait a minute.. you knew?!”
Yes… its my job to know
“Evasive maneuvers”
“We’re at warp 7 sir”
“Yes yes, get on with it.”
The ensign pilot sighs, quite loudly. Infact, loudly enough to really bug Heiro, who was sat 20 ft away in the comfort of his leather arm chair, like Julius Caesar about 20 seconds before he was stabbed…

10 seconds later

The ship, its 200m long body of metal they call the outer hull, shakes violently, pitching it downward at 45 degrees to the horizontal, throwing it from warp speed back into normal sublight speeds. The hull shakes one more time, and the stabilizers kick in, pushing jets of graviton drive energy in virtually every direction the AI deems appropriate. The ship twists violently, before pirouetting down from the dizzing speeds to find itself speeding forward, but backward. At least facing backward.
“Fire reverse thrust, stop us” The helm officer says.
“Delay that” says the captain.
“Activate the gravimetric drive, set it to reverse thrust, ahead full please.”
“Aye sir.”
The drive, situated at the back of the ship, begins to shudder, changing its shiny black colour to one of a dull grey. As the drive begins to ‘warm up’, Heiro begins to grin again, as the ship rockets forward just in time to see the Chimera blow a large proportion of the enemy to little bits of space dust.
“Ah, that about makes up for them being space hogs.”
“What, sir?”
“Nothing.”
Pandora walks over to her seat, and sits down. Heiro turns to look at her, as she begins to type a collection of raw code, functions and details from other programs from her runtime into the personal console. Within 5 more seconds, a large 3d hologramatic tactical map begins to show the battle unfold
And we’re here.
She points to a point hurtling in a short distance behind the Chimera.
“Bring us to a stop 100m from the chimera’s hull please.”
“That’s precise…”
“Good luck then”

Ploughing through the sections of destroyed mother ship, Pandora’s Box, with its hidden cargo of ‘plagues and destruction’ continues to hurtle toward the chimera at distinctly insane speeds. Backwards. That’s right. Backwards.

“Fighters incoming” / Fighters incoming
Not bad…
“Thank you.”
Heiro raises an eyebrow faster than Pandora can give him one of those looks, the ones of disgust that usually stop him from doing stupid things.
“Well, fire all forward phaser banks!!”
“Sir, we don’t have any”
“What?! Well what do we have?!”
“Shields sir.”
“Shields eh…”
The young girl at the helm begins rolls her hand on the joystick, and taps furiously at the blue button on her control console. The ship swings violently, spinning 360 degrees, and its drives kicking it back at the same speed it was moving. Lowering the power to the drives, she allows the momentum to glide the ship back to that elusive 100m mark
“And they say women can’t drive.”

Time to panic.
“56 guns locking onto the Chimera from the unhurt mothership 5000m to port.”
Heiro sits down
Around 3 seconds later, Heiro stands up
“Raise shields, cover the shots please!”
“Done, diverted shield power to protect the chimera”
The ship shakes as the first round of enemy fire slams into its shields. 56 separate blasts of plasma tear into the protective shields, dispersing in a hail of blue and yellow, burning of into space soundlessly, without trace.
“Shields holding”
“Success”
“What about the one below us?”
“God damn, Tractor beams lock on, bring it closer, right up here, 150m away.”
“Err… aye sir.”
The tractor beams, a strange blue ray from the emitters on the outer of the hull, shoots out toward the Gou’uld mother ship below, as the chimera’s phasers power into its shields. Pulling it swiftly toward the pair of ships, the crew on the bridge watch with agony as the 56 weapons power up at the uncovered hull of there small ship.
“Is it 150m away?!”
“Yes, it is”
“Raise shields, cut it in half.”
The officer stationed at the ‘tactical’ area hits the keys, and a large white shimmer passes through space 150m away, underneath them, cutting the mother ship clean into two pieces. The rear section, its engines still blazing, pushes it unfavorably into the shields, until it finally runs out of power. Breaking down, the drives fields collapse, and send a large fireball echoing against the shields. The internal section, grasped still by the tractor beam, continues it’s powering of weapons however, the faint green-yellow glow of large plasma weapons charging and targeting.
“Quickly, crush it against our shields!!”
The tractor beam’s light blue ray intensifies 100 times, and the mass of hull is pushed back against the inside of the shield, forcing it to be compressed rapidly and crush the plasma into an unconfined, yet tiny space.
“Deactivate shields, and bring them in at 100m”
“Aye...”
The white shimmer dies away, and the small, yet held mass of ship explodes. The collection of plasma tears toward the shieldship’s hull, as it approaches, the white shimmer passes around the hull of both ships, catching the blast before it can do more than minor damage…
“Drop shields; Raise them at close proximity to our ship.”
Well done captain
“Yes, well done!”
The ensign at special effects jumps up, and claps her hands, wobbling and shaking all over the place.
Is it dinner time already…

Re: Onslaught: Tides of Revenge

Awww... but I wanted to blow em ALL to smitterenies.

Ok, I say all three of us make a b-line for the ship you wish to board, firing our standard weapons to provide cover and then by the time the MAC's have charged we'll easily be able to blow the other two away.

Cool plan eh?

I'm sure that, now you've brought this to his attention, Bakan will be happy to type up a separate DM post for you when all the others get a different one.

Re: Onslaught: Tides of Revenge

well, since i'm the only person on this mission, it's not that hard is it? he's already typing up DMs just for me so i don't really see the problem with removing all of the comms officer, science officer and No1s and replacing them all with navigational officer (NO, nav)

in fact, it's easier because i have a lot less officers to worry about this way

Re: Onslaught: Tides of Revenge

Doesnt seem fair to me....

...
I mean, surely a gross miscalcuation and the ships crashing into each other, as these men have so much responsibility... would be somewhat more... ironic?

Re: Onslaught: Tides of Revenge

well, the 2 helmsman have little to do, i mean, they only have to pilot the ship and yell at the tactical officer most of the time, some of the time they also have to yell at the engineers

the navigational officer is, in combat, the coordinator of the ship(s) and out of combat he gets to yell orders around as well, out of combat he also calculates all the courses etc. and operates the scanners, but in combat he only operates the scanners (together with the tactical officer, the tactical officer selects things to shoot at and the nav officer tells the helm person where NOT to go.

and like i said, every DM he makes for me while i'm on this mission is in fact a seperate dm, simply because of the fact that i'm all alone out here

Re: Onslaught: Tides of Revenge

I am in agreement with the plan. Hopefully Fluffie will be able to capture the boarded ship. We should be able to handle the other two ships easily. Go for the Leader, or Center, as it would most likely be the command ship of the group

*Eath Rushes to the bridge to begin to post*
