well, now i read this topic i guess i'm going to say thanks to some peeps too:P

First thanks to all my galm8s ofc, you guys played great! to lazy to say all names, they should know that i was in their gal ffs:P

and thanks to our allies although defence wasn't the best, the attacks on 4:8, 4:10? and 1:10 were great. Beside that i want to thank C3 (dragons or so) and 4:3 for attacking us hours in a row, every time we wanted to launch an attack one of our planets got 40 fleets incoming. Great fun

We didn't really stand a chance from the organised attacks on us from c2 on the second day - we knew we would be attacked after our constant bashing of c2 (hi 2.5) and landing at rank2 on day 1 and therefore we were told to stockpile (i think only myself and 1 other did this in the end) thus when our roids were gone we had no way of coming back. Well pld to u but its still funny how the only way you could get through us were to stick 1 whole gal on each planet for 5 consistant waves

Our allies weren't bad to attack with but tbh we had more luck attacking as a gal and we were teh 133t day 1. Our end list of allies/naps got to the following: -

Not 100% sure why we napped with the whole of c3 (i was just a peon in the gal ofc) although i think it was something to do with them wanting us to go ahead of 4:9 on the #1 spot. Correct me iff im wrong ta.

defending was more fun. And 7th is good enough for me, in all sports/games you only get "medals" for the first 3 spots anyway, so who cares if you are 4th or 20th.. as long as you have fun

Beside that i'm happy my planet was in top 5 for a while again, 3 out of 3 now.. now only thing i should try is to finish with a ranking like that

Hehe... It was me, after a PM of sirad who setup the attack..
Yama very pissed, but i had been watching a fence sitting meddy for to long.

He was in an BC and HC channel said nothing when asking, never respond any PM. Never made clear what he's plans where, and allie the whole world.... That's lame..

And it was not 1 galaxy per planet, our galaxy attacked 2/3 planets each time.. From wave 1 till 14.. I doubt any other gal launched every wave... We always did, cause i'm a persistant BC..

If meddy would have talked more, i would have never set it up.. Cause it was an allie at start.. His own fault..

HI here is t1k from 4:8:8

first of all I wana to congrats winner of round 1:6 and all of you who play this speed round it was quite fun

and many thanks to my def partners:reese,rudmar,draki and yeh almoust every time when I was ask for def I get it from them and every time when I sended to them and planet get ****load of incoming without decent cover thay tell me to recall and avoid unnesesery loses.

we finish 3rd gal on finish could be better if we didnt det down by all 2nd cluster on 2nd day.when we start to catch fleets of our attackers waves on us stoped

but our only girl in our galaxy (tea from eclipse finish this round as top 1 planet)

4:1 and 4:3 dread gal (expecialy) was realy pain in the ass on begining with his all xan planets but when first pegasus and cutters are coming out from production and with help of our allies we finish with them.

was fun near the end when dreadnout organise overkill attack to one of my galm8 (gari) who killed all his fleet

see you all guys in next private speed round it was realy fun playing with you

I think the first thing some of you kids need to remember is that the speed game has nothing to do with skill, its about determination, the planning and politics.

You could have 10 of the finest planet players in a galaxy (some of the galaxies particpating were most certainly impressive) and an entire army of allies and naps, and still finish last.

Its about adapting, its about picking yourself up after losing 500 roids in 1 tick, heh and i almost forgot.... enjoy yourself.

I have to say it was the best round i've had in speed games, certainly not a close call. My thanks to my galaxy and to our allies... madcows, langemann & co. + meddy's gal.

And yes my planet was closed, but re-opened, and yes i let someone babysit my account while i was away.

It was an honour to play alongside you all.

Great round, very very pround being 1:10
was great seeing four planets from my gal being #1, #2, #3 and #4 uniranking at certain times.

some ppl really got scared of us, soz Klendau.... but I just wanted to see tea win the round ;-)

this is so much more fun then normal pa, the last three hours were just rocking. from now on I will play all private speedrouns :-)

btw lol @ eclipse for organising the 8 wave attack on my gal when it was #1 ;-)

Oh my is someone making excuses? You seem to contradict yourself here. First you say it requires no skill, then you say even with having good players and loads of allies on your side you could end up last. If this doesn't imply speed games need alot of skill I am not sure what does. Speed games entail a great amount of political manuevering, using your people skills, using your reputation, and having a fleet to back up your claims, just like regular pa, only to a much greater degree because of your political flexibility and the volatility of the game. You need to have a mind capable of keeping track of multiple deals, over the table and under, as well as being able to read the writing on the wall and being able to predict what other people are going to do. Combine that with needing competant, extremely quick and adaptable BCs in your gal and skill plays an enourmous amount of influence on the game. 'Skill' in planetarion does not just entail ship ratios and startup plans. Real planetarion skill comes from your interaction with other players while being able to successfully manage your planet.

dutch broadcasting only one i've seen so far that decides to cut movies in half and put some crap news bradcast that no one cares about in between the movie .


anyway on with my take of the speed pa.

in the leadup to Speed Pa there was a lot of rumours flying around which in my opinion caused the rather large groups to form.

Rumour 1 was there was 8 galaxies organised by eclipse people going into speed pa

Rumour 2 was Ice suposadly had a big group of galaxies (this may be likened to the eclipse galaxy co-op [I'm not exactly sure there] )

It was known that Sad had a group going into the speed pa round but there number was thought (by most) to be 6-8 it was 10 (Sad can correct me if I am wrong I no longer have Pa related materials on a computer acceable to me)


It was also known that Jurgen had a group of Galaxies going into the speed pa also estimated to be around 8 in actuality it was 11

Snowseal had the 3rd group which played a major role in the Speed Pa of 4 Galaxies



I think the # of galaxies in each group is a direct result of fear mongering but it all turned out fun

at the first Sad's group which was all in cluster 2

(hey spinner shuffles are good ideas all the time otherwise the situation will be abused I'm sure it can not be hard to make it policy to have a shuffle before ticks each round if the game mechanics will be anything similar to the previous rounds. )

were more organised then the Dragons groups a few factors caused that to happen Sads groups went mostly galaxy attacks and Dragons went battlegroups

(when you have such l33t people running battlegroups claiming themselves the best targets and only careing about themselves more then the operation as a whole well you saw how well it worked as did I )

Sad's group took down 1:6 on the first day and then we got a working agreement with snowseal against Dragons (Sad you did a great job there I dont think I could have pulled that one off )
and then Jurgens group got a taste of what Vom got for 2 months of round 9

meddys galaxy which was origionaly in snowseals group and sad's, was asked when we were takeing down snowseals galaxies (which i participated in on gresnicks gal with mine which was a mistake due to the co-ord arrangement on my gals arbiter which i later smoothed out with snowseal) I asked meddy to help me on 1:6 to which he said no, meddy at that point was not intersted in makeing a effort in the war vs snowseal's galaxies so meddys got taken down after some things were brought to light.

for day 1 the Dragons were mostly in disaray and getting demoralized there attacks suffered from lack of success but they did get a lot better in the laterhalf of the day and more noteably on the 2nd day of the round they started to regain some momentum.

It was a lot of fun

Congradulations to Desse and the rest of 1:6 for winning I would rather you then 4:9 by a long shot

Blue-Nova- a excellent player and a most excellent person who has a supriseing accurate grasp on things in planetarion for his age if planetarion has a future and this guy is playing I would happly join his galaxy if he made one ... BUT YOU WERE STILL LATE.

Xyxmokin man you had it rough with them newsies and you saved out gals fleets so much it was great to have you there and i cant imagine the fustration with the calls for newsies you must have gone thru 20g easy that day

man this was something I never would have thoughtback rounds 4-7 I'd ask you to join a gal that I would make we were in the same channel never talked much at all you were allways on the opposite side of block wars as me in every round up untill round 8/9 when we were a alliance, for me it is truely worth the wait and I was plesed to be in a galaxy together with you, and thanks for filling in when needed it wouldent have been possible without you you were the second in charge of 2:4 and a great team player

for me you'll allways be that dam whineing german from round 7 in cluster 28 where we got owned each day by ldk and geneosse27's galaxy, you managed not to whine too much during speed pa which was great and you've been a good friend from round 6-9 when i met you glad you could play with us and I hope you had as much fun as I did in our galaxy and I hope it madeup for the failure of round 7.

I've never had some one call me a n00b so many times in such a short time span you managed to piss me off within the first few hours of the round but got over that fast enough, it was a pleasure to play with you and I think you prooved your ability to play fast ticks and a new race for the first time on both accounts you did quite well. and I can see why Divider likes you so much

Thanks to myself ?. nawh I'm just a n00b who saw people talking about attacking and sending defence in a irc channel on efnet late round 4, I joined there galaxy (madcows5) which was a local galaxy where we all went to wingnight together for our galaxy meetings which was excellent and where we started our civil war when 1/2 the gal dident go to wingnight. anyway no one from my origional galaxy is playing anylonger and the majority of people who are playing this game i find I no longer like. Thoose I do like have been or are currently in madcows or I converse with frequently they know who they are. For me planetarion has been more then a game it has provided a avenure for me to visit places in europe which would have been less likely had I not met theese people in madcows for them thanks it made the game worth it in such a big way.
So for me its time to join my origional galaxy and go back to what I enjoy most, driveing a motorcycle and raceing cars as well as my Scouting.

anyway I have prooved something to all you so called "l337" players this round and if you cant figure it out thats your own problem.

hope this shed some light into the speed pa politics if you have a question or something pm me i might able to help as i was invloved with a fair bit of the planning of the round.
and it was a good way to go out with a lot of action thanks c2 for killing my planet when i was eating dinner it was truely the only time you'd have caught my fleet and you did it at the best time for you congradts but eating the frienkendels met friets was worth it ;p
