new monitor

Hey, hopefully someone can help me.

I received my brand new monitor today.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...359895-0538846

However it has two dead pixels, located a fair distance away from each other. Since this is my first LCD monitor I would like to ask..
Can it get any worse, with more pixels dieing?
Should I return the item?

Re: new monitor

I think I am going to send it back.
It is just the fuss of it all, sending it back, then waiting for a replacement.

Re: new monitor

I recently read an article that the technology reached such a point that manufactorers can guarantee a dead-pixel-free screen.
So yea, return and get a new one.

flapjack is infamous around these parts
Re: new monitor

you should prolly get it replaced, most manufacturers give a short no dead-pixels garantue (often a few months), if you have any dead pixels during that time, you can return the monitor and have it replaced for free. After that time you need a number of dead pixels for replacement up untill your waranty ends.

Obviously any newly delivered monitor should be dead-pixel free

Re: new monitor

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news... http://www.iiyama.ru/service/ISO_13406_2.pdf this is the official standard for dead pixels. Yes it is possible to manufacture screens without anyway, but its bloody expensive. I have 4 on mine, and yes more can develop, its crap, I know, but we have to live with such things...

Though it seems you chose not to and got a new monitor! You lucky person! Good of amazon to do it, I'm impressed!
