What level of social disaster is this?
i ended up in a rather... well, socially disastrous situation on monday night/tuesday morning, and i was just wondering, exactly HOW bad is it?
basically, i went out for a drink with some friends on monday night, went to the queen of hearts (cheesy club in manc) then on to 5th avenue (indie club in manc). At about 2 i think, we left and went to my friend james' house to smoke some weed for a few hours. Now, I got a phone call from some other friends around this time who asked what i was doing, i asked james and he said they could come round to his and "join the party" such as it was.
Now, they only got there at around 4, due to being very out of it i imagine, im not sure. But there was someone with them who i had never seen before, this is where the trouble started. He said he needed the toilet, asked james where it was who said "upstairs on the left". He came back 5 minutes later and joined in with the 'chat'. However, james got a shout from one of his housemates and went up to talk to them, he then came down and asked the bloke i didnt know to leave, which he did (eventually, after a bit of drunken piss taking) and my 'other friends' went with him after james asked them to (im not sure why). While this happened i did nothing, not because im a coward or thought it was particularly bad, but just because i was immensely stoned and couldnt really speak.
It transpired later, that this person had actually urinated on james' housemate's door. Hence the 'wanting him to leave'. Now... obviously this is unnacceptable. How much blame am i going to take for the piss, or the fact that my friends basically got thrown out 10 minutes after they got somewhere i invited them to without me sticking up for them. I also laughed hysterically about it for a long long time, which may have been perceived as insensitive. Anyway, i left at about 5am, came home and went to sleep.
so, what level of faux pas is it to invite someone to piss on your friends housemates door? I havent actually spoken to james since then, and feel i should probably give him a call, just to make sure he doesnt hate me. Out of the guys who came round, the ones who i actually care what they think about me i phoned up and apparently they actually had memory blanks (score!) so i got away with that.

Re: What level of social disaster is this?
Depends on how tolerant your mate James is.
Just ring him and tell him you're really sorry, but you didn't know that bloke etc.

Avoiding the argument and not creating more bad mojo gives you extra credibility points for being somewhat sane.
I'd say you are better off now than when you first sat down.
I wouldnt call and say Im sorry, I'd rather crack a joke about it

Re: What level of social disaster is this?
we-ell... he is a fairly tolerant chap.
im probably going to take idlers advice and be a bastard about it though, considering i already laughed my head off about it when it happened, a backtrack now would be seen to be weak.
maybe.

Re: What level of social disaster is this?
I would phone him up and apologise, it's not really much of a backtrack as you can continue to laugh about it. I would also phone up the ones who brought him with them and just give them some abuse and make them feel guilty for a bit but i haven't got much better to do at the moment.

If he complains offer to set up a duel, if he doesn't accept tell him to shut up. Never speak to the guy who urinated on the door again.

Re: What level of social disaster is this?
A couple of years ago I was round a mate's house getting drunk and stoned. Then I went to the toilet, threw up everywhere (and I mean everywhere: in the toilet, in the sink, in the bath, on the shower curtain, on the door handle, on the door, etc...) and promptly left saying I didn't feel too good.
Amazingly the blame for all the projectile vomiting was put onto someone else and I got off scot free

Re: What level of social disaster is this?
Anyone dumb enough to invite a large group of the unknown drunken friends of a drug addict round to their flat doesnt really deserve much sympathy for a urinating incident.
